Chapter 235 - 235: Jaw-dropping Makeover

Along the way to one of the most popular salons in the city, Jasmine thought about confessing her real motives to Halora.

She never knew pretending to be a cool girl in front of everyone would change the truth and her real attitude.

She tried to catch her breath, watching the people who walked through the side walk, trying to chase the bus.

"I thought it will make me happy." she murmured, leaning back her head at the window's screen. "I can't lose her this time. I can't tell Halora the truth either."

Her heart was filled with hatred when her best friend betrayed her when she was in seventh grade. Her reputation ruined that entirely changed her image as the kindest daughter ever.

It happened a long time ago yet, the pain and resentment chased her after this moment. She only wanted fair justice, clear her name and redeem her dignity that took away by a single false accusation.

Since then, she never trusted anyone especially girls. She never tried to be friends with someone else and thought they were all the same.

Until the moment she turned into a slithering snake on that sunny day and the only person who saved her was Halora.

At first glance, Jasmine knew that they were meant to meet each other. She heard that she was bullied for how many years because of her status and being an orphan.

Jasmine owed her a lot but her true motives were suspicious and surprising enough to hurt someone who was true to her always.

For a moment, she caressed her temple and exhaustedly closed her eyes. She felt weak, thirsty as ever but she didn't say anything.

Until she noticed that Halora was staring on her way. It disconcerted her but she wasn't sure if she was truly gawking at the moment.

"I thought we're going to wait for Markus?" said Halora innocently as she only broke the deafening silence inside of the car.

Jasmine smiled shortly, turned her head on her and she replied suspiciously, "After our make-over, Halora."

Her voice seemed different yet, Halora didn't ask her another question. She knew Jasmine felt uncomfortable with her because of what happened earlier in the mansion.

It was an awkward situation and the only thing she wanted was to be vanished from her sight and laid back in bed.

"Why it seems different?" she thought, looked at the street filled with people.

Halora slightly leaned her head on the back, clasped both of her hands and took a deep breath. If it didn't because of Markus, she would have told Jasmine to go back home and study for the upcoming examination.

But she couldn't fail him because she promised and agreed to be his companion and partner in the whole night aside from Jasmine.

"If I have only other choice, I should have been lying in my bed right now." Halora murmured and somehow regretted her decisions.

However, time ran too fast and they must be preparing for the party. She suddenly felt nervous, listened to the loud sound of her heart.

Until the car stopped in front of a breathtaking building and when she saw the billboard above, she was completely surprised and amazed.

Jasmine quickly jumped off from the car as she said, "Hurry up, Halora! I can't wait to see you glowing with a versace dress."

"A versace dress? What's that?" I asked ignorantly and even the driver giggled secretly.

"Oh, my goodness, Halora! You don't know what is a versace dress?"

I shook my head in agreement that burst her into laughter. She flipped up her hair, reached for arms and held it tightly like nothing had taken place.

To my surprise, the securities greeted us like a celebrity who would always come and visited such glamorous salon. It was merely a dream come true for all the women like me.

Since ever in my whole life, I have never been in a place that gave me a soothing feeling and a wonderful ambiance that completely captured the customer's interests.

"Good day, Ms. Yu! Madam is waiting for you. Please follow me this way." A tall, slimmer woman talked to Jasmine with respect and kindness.

She was smiling widely but she never greeted Halora who was been standing next to a rich, young woman.

"Please come inside, Ms. Yu." she spoke sweetly as Jasmine gave her a warm yet fake smile on her face.

"Thank you, but I noticed that you didn't even greet my friend since we arrived here." Jasmine told her sarcastically that stunned Halora.

"But, don't worry, I won't tell anybody about your not-so-good-attitude!"

The employee was caught off guard when she realized that Halora wasn't a maid. She thought she was only a girl who cleaned the four corners of the spacious house for a big amount every month.

She felt guilty for not addressing Halora's presence but it was over now. "I… I am sorry, but I thought she is your new maid!"

"I- it's fine! It's fine for me, but please don't judge other people based on their skin and how they looked in public. I am used to be treated that way until it became a typical norm in our society."

Jasmine gulped countless times, looked at the woman who was blew away by Halora's words of wisdom. Slowly, she fell into the trap that she created before and when the right time came, she would be the one who would suffer until the very end.

"Let's go, Halora! Let's talk about her attitude tomorrow." said Jasmine when she glanced up at the time.

They were in a hurry and they must be on time if they didn't want to be the center of the attraction. Jasmine entered inside and pulled Halora like a little girl who knew nothing around her.

There was a wide, yet confusing smile flaunted on her face that bothered Halora. Until they saw a woman in her forties who cleaned the mirror in front of her.

Jasmine said, "Good day, Sha! It's been a while since I came here for my hair!"

The woman named Sha turned around and hurriedly ran towards her way. She replied, "Jasmine, oh, my Jasmine! Why didn't you come back for a month now?"

She looked through her eyes but she noticed Halora beside Jasmine. Surprisingly, she was quite stunned by the perfect shape of Halora's face.

It seemed a strong feature that every beauty queen possessed. Her brown, tantalizing eyes, thick eyebrows, pointed nose, crimson lips and a perfect, supple jawline.

"And what is your name, Young lady? I haven't met you before, am I right?"

"Y- yes, Madam. I am H- Halora by the way and it's my pleasure to meet you in person." Replied Halora in a kindest way.

Madam Sha was startled by her adorable actions and she never expected that a young woman would possess a kind, genuine heart.

Slowly, she stooped closer, stared at her powerful face that she has never seen before.

"She's my friend and that's the reason why we're here!" spoke Jasmine out of the blue and felt spiteful. She walked into the couch, placed her expensive, white purse and sat down with a heavy breath. "I want you to make her the most beautiful girl tonight. Can you do that for me?"

Halora looked into her way and she replied shockingly, "No! D- don't bother about me, Jas! I don't have to wear heavy make-ups to look beautiful and charming!"

But Madam Sha reached for her wet, sweaty hands and smiled sweetly. "Come here, Young lady. I will make sure that you will be a head turner tonight and everyone will appreciate your true, hidden beauty."

"B- but I don't have any money with me and I can't afford to pay your service, Madam!"

"No buts Halora. I've made up my mind, she will turn you into a princess. Just trust her, do you understand?"

Jasmine winked at the woman who knew what to do. Before she went to the next room, she looked at Halora who nervously sat into one of the three chairs.

She was afraid that it might cost a lot, but Madam Sha secretly whispered into her ears that her service was free.

Madam Sha reached for the things needed as she murmured, "Don't stress yourself, young lady. You are beautiful inside and out that's why I am offering you a free, yet jaw-dropping makeover."

However, at the next room, Jasmine was thinking if it is the best decision to make. She thought of taking off the mask in front of Halora to know if she would still accept her despite everything she said before.

"Would she accept me still as a friend or she would push me away?"

A few painful questions flashed into her head while the hairstylist did everything to make her stunning as ever. But no one knew that inside of her beautiful face, there was a vulnerable and bitter soul that lived in despair for so long.

She never wished to be an evil friend to others but because of everything she went through, trusting people became one of the hardest things to do."

"I hope you will forgive me, Halora.." she thought as she closed her eyes and rested her body for the meantime.
