Episode 171- Ground suddenly caved in
'The group behind the incident at the Imperial Palace of Xenperia and the incident at the Royal Palace of Zene.' Moniqua looked at the group wary. With her fists clenched she stepped up only to be blocked by both Eugene and Euria.
"You're injured." They said in unison. Eugene and Euria turned to each other, surprised that the other person knows of Moniqua's injured however quickly focused on the enemies again.
"What is your purpose?!" One knight shouted as his sword raised to the man. He was prepared to engage in a fight with the man and take him down.
The man who announced that they were Exitium didn't say anything and only pointed forward. Naturally, the knights in front weren't about to be tricked by the enemy but when they saw the man's persistent finger, they ended up following the man's finger and landed on what he pointed; the twins.
Not a second later, the enemies rushed in together and headed straight to the twins. They appeared as if they were going to sacrifice and get the twins no matter what.
20 of the Veria knights couldn't stand still and began to engage with 30 members of Exitium and fought head to head. The enemies weren't able to move the knights, not because they had been weakened but because the knights were, in fact, stronger than them.
The cause of death for the 30 knights was not due to these Exitium members, but rather to the younger enemies who were always with them. The children who appeared to be around Aernest and Euria's age. Like Aernest, the knights did not have their guards fully up against them, but it was because of that that many of their comrades were slain. They were annoyingly strong and got stronger every time the knights fought with them which was why the knights were pushed to this extent.
Because the knights no longer fought with the younger enemies, they were able to cut down 15 adult members of Exitium within five minutes. But just as they were about to sigh in relief, a young teen stepped out and rushed to them. Though he looked two or three years older than the younger enemies they fought against, the knights had no doubt that this teen was made from the same build as the younger ones because of his green eye color.
Not to mention… the deathly pressure that radiated off this teen.
The green eyed teen raised his hand up to one of the knights who felt his impending death, however just as he was about to get hit, the ground where the teen stood suddenly caved in. It caved in as if the teen weighed 500kg! The rumble caused by the ground suddenly collapsing startled everyone, and they couldn't help but take a step back in fear, leaving only the man in the cape, whose expression couldn't be seen.
It was only now when everyone noticed the ripple in the air above the caved-in ground. The rippling in the air was intense and got more intense as if the air got heavier, eventually forcing the young teen whose body could still be seen to fall onto his knees from the pressure. But through sheer will, the teen could be seen to go against gravity as he grabbed whatever he could grab to pull himself up even just a little. He did this until he was a quarter way up; his eyes were only staring into one direction, specifically at a young girl with grey hair and grey eyes.
"As expected of the Eldest Miss, the fourth Miss-" The man in the cape spoke suddenly, bringing everyone's attention towards him.
'Eldest Miss?' Everyone furrowed their eyebrows when the man stopped speaking.
"No- the Youngest Miss, 5th Miss of the Veria family."
The man removed his cape, revealing his appearance. He flashed a wide smile at Euria, who was staring at him blankly.
"I was told by that person that Miss would know me." The man spoke, his voice was charming and sounded very smooth to the listeners. It suited his mesmerizing appearance and defined features, specifically his unique single eyelid.
"Darius." Euria acknowledged the man with short black hair.
Darius's eyes enlarged and he stared at Euria as if he was fascinated that she knew his name, "So it was true." he mumbled with a smile on his face.
Moniqua's body trembled as she locked her gaze on Euria, particularly her eyes. Except for the different clothes they were wearing, no one could tell Euria and Eugene apart at this point. Not even their faces were distinguishable as they wore the same cold and hard expressions.
"What.. is happening?" Nothing could describe what she was feeling at the moment except for the word dumbfounded. Everything feels like a dream. A terrible dream with plot twists on top of plot twists. One moment the ground caved in, one-moment Euria spoke as if she knew the man with the cape, and the other moment, Euria's eyes turned grey. Everything that she was seeing was beyond her knowledge that it scared her very much. Especially because deep inside her she knows that this wasn't a dream and that everything that's happening right now was revolving around Euria.
It wasn't just Moniqua who was taken bewildered. Even the knights, Aernest and Eugene, were taken aback. But they did know one thing: Euria was not an enemy. They know from the young teen's faze, as well as Darius, that the person who stopped the teen from killing the knight was Euria. But as to how she did it... it hadn't yet registered in their minds.
Euria's voice woke everyone up from their thoughts. Not because of her next words, but because of how cold her voice sounded.
"What does that person want?"
Darius's smile curved into a smirk and he replied, "Youngest Miss." After he called out to Euria, his lips lowered down slowly and the next second he was completely serious, "Please return to us."
The air fell deathly quiet around them, and before Euria could respond, an enraged voice could be heard adamantly refusing, "She's not going anywhere!"
Everyone turned to the source of the voice.
Darius's eyes moved from Euria to Moniqua and gazed at her beautiful red eyes that were filled with nothing but anger. In contrast to her anger, he threatened her calmly,
"Either everyone here dies, or Lady Ria comes with us." There was no emotion in his voice when he threatened the mother of the person he wanted to bring back. However, he looked very serious, as if he would do what he needed to to get Euria.
Moniqua's bit her inner lips as her glare never left Darius. All she could feel at this moment was anger that was rushing from the pit of her stomach to her head.
Aernest stepped up and stood at Euria's other end. "I agree. You will not take my sister with you." He sounded determined and serious. His voice contained maturity that no one knew he had so his words hit everyone deep in the heart.
Darius's emotionless eyes landed on Aernest, and with a motion of his finger he responded,
"Well then, please die."
Immediately after his words, fifteen members began to engage in a fight again. This time, they were ruthless and reckless, making it hard for the knights to predict their movements. The enemies fought as if they were going to fight to death. They did not even defend against the knights' attack and fought as if there was no tomorrow. But it was because of that, the knights were slain mercilessly.
Euria's eyes widened. As if she realized what the enemies were about to do, she quickly grabbed Aernest and Eugene who were by her side, and pushed them behind her to Moniqua!
"THEY ARE GOING TO EXPLODE! EVERYONE GET AWAY!"
"What!?" The moment Eugene heard Euria's words, she grabbed back the hand Euria used to push her and pulled her back, only for Euria not to budge. No matter how much strength Eugene mustered, she was unable to make Euria budge even a single cm.
This frustrated and scared Eugene so much that she shouted, "EURIA!" But before long, Eugene realized that it was too late as the enemies in front of them began to turn red. They turned bright tomato red as their heads began swelling up like a balloon, just like when Ario's head exploded in Zene.
Euria's palm raised forward just before the enemy's brain was about to burst. And the knights who were grabbed by the enemies were pulled to her in speed that was as fast as a blink of an eye.
"Shield," Euria mumbled as her body began to tremble violently.
BOOOM!!!
A big explosion ripped out the ground that knights and the enemies had been standing on. The explosion was incredibly powerful that it blasted everything in its way. It was like when Ario exploded but 15 times worse.. Everything beyond the place Euria stood was covered in a sea of red and not even a single flesh belonging to the enemy could be seen as it disintegrated along with the explosion.
