Episode 191- Eugeneia and Euria are two very mysterious children.
"...." Ron pouted as he watched Eugene and Con ride in one horse together. Normally, this would've been a beautiful sight, especially because a male and a female were riding in one horse, appearing closely intimate. However, when it came to Eugene and they, they looked like human machines.
The two had no expression on their faces as they faced forward. Eugene sat in front, while Con sat in the back. The two looked like they were born from the same parents because of how similar their vibes are, and it was a very funny sight to see so he no longer pouted and enjoyed his view.
As two horses galloped their way to Herrow, the Veria estate was in another frenzy…
This situation began after Aernest woke up. As soon as he woke up, he felt off. He felt as if something was wrong, and there was some part in him that felt empty. This resulted in him heading to Eugene's room which… did not contain Eugene. After that, he went around asking the workers where his sister might be and was told that Eugene was taking care of Moniqua.
He thanked the workers and headed to his mother's room only to find the room empty of Eugene. There was only his mother sleeping very peacefully, hence he once again went out on a search for his sister. Cramps crawled up from the pit of his stomach when he couldn't find his sister, no matter where he went. That was when he realized that something was terribly wrong.
In a rush, he went to find his father.
"Father!" Aernest rushed into the room where five Dukes were holding an emergency meeting. Aernest didn't even knock and rushed straight to Levis with very anxious eyes.
The Dukes were surprised that someone had come in without permission but when they heard Levis' name being called out, they relaxed.
"What's wrong?" Duke Marleigh was the first to notice Aernest's terrible expression and he got out of Aernest way who passed by him and ran to Levis.
"Sister! Sister!" Aernest jumped at Levis's legs and hugged him tightly. He was roughly 155cm and could already reach Levis's waist.
Levis's eyes narrowed down sadly as he gently patted Aernest's head. He didn't scold him for barging in during a meeting, leaned down lower, and hugged him quietly.
"Shhh." He soothed him, "It is alright. We will get your sister back soon."
Upon realizing that Levis misunderstood him, Aernest became frustrated, forcing Levis to release him. Aernest face was completely covered in sweat and he looked as if he was struggling to breathe.
"No! No!" He shook his head. This wasn't about Euria! This was about Eugene!
"No! Not… Not Euria!" His voice was trembling as it struggled to say. At this moment, his entire body was shaking in fear from realizing that he lost two sisters.
Levis watched Aernest sympathetically when he suddenly realized what Aernest wanted to convey. Not a second later, he rushed out of the door and headed upstairs to Eugene's room. Intuitively he already felt that she wasn't there, but he had to confirm it with his own two eyes.
On his way, he encountered the workers and in an impatient tone he asked, "Where is my Eldest daughter?"
The worker was naturally surprised because the Duke wasn't one to speak impatiently. However, she responded, "She is Madam's room."
Levis' eyebrows were scrunched and just when he was about to leave, he stepped back to the same worker and asked, "When… was she last seen?" His heart couldn't help but skip a beat as he asked this question.
The servant thought for a moment before glancing at the master clock on floor 3, "Around three hours ago, Master."
It didn't take a second before he felt dreadful. His face turned pale immediately and he stuttered. Just before the worker could ask him what was wrong, Levis walked in the opposite direction to Moniqua's room downstairs. He walked slowly as if he knew that even if he ran, Eugene would have been long gone. The walk was one of the most painful walks he ever walked. However, he never stopped and faced the reality.
Only Moniqua was sleeping in the room. He walked slowly towards Moniqua, kneeled on the floor, and held her hands. Her face was a healthy red color which would normally relieve him but he could not feel happiness at the moment. He put his face against her hands and he swallowed back his emotions that were running rampant.
"I'm sorry." his voice was hoarse, as he apologized to the person in front of him. He sounded as if he had been crying.
"I'm sorry." He gripped Moniqua's hand tighter before releasing it a minute later.
"Father!" Aernest's voice could be heard from the hallway. It took him 30 seconds to reach Moniqua's room and when he did he saw his father looking over the window.
The window was slightly open and without having to know why it was open in a patient's room, Aernest knew that this was where Eugene had escaped from.
Levis took Aernest and they headed back to his study room where the Four Dukes were having a serious conversation. Confusion plastered their faces as the four glanced at Levis and Aernest whose expression was terrible. It didn't take long before Levis made known what happened.
"Wha...t?" Duke Rodriguez and Duke Marleigh dropped their pens. Speechlessness plastered their faces because they knew Eugene well. She wasn't someone who would make rash and emotional decisions such as leaving home without telling anyone else. They knew that she was mature enough to know that people would get worried if she disappeared just like that.
"Security was brought 2 hours ago. When did she leave?!" Duke Marleigh raised his voice and stood up abruptly.
"...." Levis closed his eyes for 10 seconds and when he reopened them he told stated, "3 hours ago."
"... But how did she know to escape before security was placed?" It was Duke Akler who asked. He wasn't as close to Eugene but was comfortable with her whenever he saw her. But because of this, he didn't know how intricate her thinking was.
"She's smart enough to calculate these things," Levis said without turning to him. He walked towards the big map on the table, leaned forward, and sighed.
"We need to go after her quickly! It is dangerous outside!"
"How?" Levis' voice was cold and harsh. This made everyone hesitate to say anything because, at this moment, anyone could tell that Levis's mood was in no way good and he appeared to be incredibly angered by his daughter's actions while at the same time saddened.
"What do you mean how?" Duke Rodriguez muttered after a minute of silence.
"With Eugene's brain, she would have left no trace of evidence and she would have escaped the capital long ago." Duke Graeme, who sat in the corner of the room answered in Levis's stead.
"...." Duke Rodriguez's face turned into one of speechlessness before turning into one of realization and then annoyance. He had thought Eugene was special for being smart because that made her stand out from her peers. However, he didn't think being smart was a good thing. Especially being smart in this situation.
"But if she is maturely smart, why would she leave?" There was confusion in Duke Akler's voice as he asked. He couldn't comprehend why a smart person like Eugene would do such a thing.
"...." Levis didn't say anything and only stared straight at the map.
"Maybe she knows where Euria is." A lazy voice spoke in the middle of silence.
Levis, Duke Rodriguez, Duke Marleigh, and Duke Akler turned to Irvin Graeme who leaned back on his chair as he stared at the ceiling with a handheld fan in his hand.
Levis's eyes narrowed and he understood immediately what Irvin Graeme meant.
"What do you mean?"
"According to Aernest, and the soldiers present during the incident, Euria had some connection to the group. Who knows when or how Euria knows about them but she knows them very well. Exceptionally well. There's also the unexplainable phenomenon where her eyes turned grey, saved the knights from getting murdered, and rooted everyone to the ground to escape." Duke Graeme explained.
When Aernest heard his name being mentioned his eyes turned to Duke Graeme and focused on him.
"And?"
"It might be possible that Eugeneia is connected as well. Or maybe Euria left Eugeneia something which would help her know where she was if something like this were to occur."
Duke Rodriguez narrowed his eyes, "And what is that?"
Duke Graeme was silent before he shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know. All I know is that Eugeneia and Euria are two very mysterious children."
"...."
Duke Marleigh intervened, "I agree that Eugene might know Euria's location, but what I don't understand is why Eugeneia would make such a rash decision to go alone."
