Episode 193- Only reach 175cm in this lifetime.
Herrow
When Eugene, Con, and Ron arrived in Herrow, the sun was already long gone as it took them 5 hours to reach this city from the capital city of Xenperia.
Eugene didn't mind going further however the transportation in Herrow had already closed so they weren't able to get new horses let alone receive Noelle's next location. Eugene, Ron, and Con had no choice but to rent out three rooms to stay for the night. The place they chose was a lodge that wasn't too expensive but also wasn't too cheap. An old man at the receptionist welcomed them heartily and relocated everyone to their rooms.
"The people here are friendly," Ron said as he glanced around casually. They were sitting at a bar/restaurant after visiting their rooms. As they headed to the restaurant which was on the ground floor, many people would turn around to give them a friendly smile or a nod whenever they passed by. After the small greeting of acknowledgment, they would continue with whatever they were doing before.
Eugene nodded to agree, "Indeed."
Even when they had gone to the transportation center earlier and realized late that the transportation center was closed, they were approached by one elder couple who very slowly explained to them that the carriage center in Herrow closes early every day. They also explained to come back tomorrow if they wanted anything. These two sentences took the elderly couple 10 minutes to say, as they spoke really slowly.
Eugene, Ron, and Con took it as a friendly gesture from the old couple because they could tell by the old couple's faces that they did not want them to waste time waiting at the transportation center.
This was when the old couple recommended which lodge to rest at which took another 30 minutes for the old couple to explain the direction because of how slow they were speaking but besides the fact, Eugene, Ron, and Con were grateful to the couple and thanked them greatly. Thanks to the old couple, they got a decent price for the comfortable and cozy room they rented.
"Can Eugeneia even eat commoner food?" asked Ron who was staring at Eugene choosing what to eat.
Eugene did not bother with him and only spoke to the waiter once the waiter got here.
"...."
"Can… can you finish all of that?" There was hesitation in Ron's voice as he asked Eugene once she was done ordering.
Eugene nodded at him.
"But… But you ordered half of what they offered?" What he meant was that Eugene ordered half of what was on the menu.
Eugene nodded once again, "I'm growing. I need to eat." This was very true. The reason why she grew up tall was due to the food she consumed all these years. The nutrition in the food Eugene consumed would go towards her muscle development and nourish her body that trained every day.
But, she wasn't eating just because she wanted to grow taller or needed to nourish her body. She was eating because she felt weak. Ever since giving blood to Moniqua, her body has been feeling heavy and slow, as if she was carrying a whole mountain on her back.
She knows that her body was feeling very exhausted and knows from experience that she needed to nourish her body. Which was why she ordered double of what she already eats, which was already more than the average person.
When Ron heard her answer, he for the first time understood why Eugene was so tall for her age. It was simply because she eats a lot. After thinking some more, he had a realization that what Eugene ordered was quite balanced even though it was still a huge amount. Nutritional aspect, it was a perfect balance between proteins, carbs, and fiber.
"Should I eat a lot too?" Ron questioned himself suddenly when Eugene crushed his ego for him.
"It is too late to start now. All you'll end up doing is growing in width." My apologies, but you have to exercise like mad and train your body to handle that much food.
"...." Ron stared at himself, who was 170cm at the tender age of 15 before looking back up to Eugene.
"Hey! My mother is 175cm while my father is 193cm alright?! I'm sure I'll reach half of their height!" He immediately refused her claims.
"Ah." Eugene looked at him in realization. It was at this moment when Ron had a bad feeling about Eugene's next words and when he heard it, his heart crushed into pieces.
"Then you will only reach 175cm in this lifetime." There was a hint of sympathy in her voice.
Ron made an ugly face and decided to ignore Eugene when the waiter began to serve plate after plate of food on the table. He watched Eugene eat without hesitation and wolfed down the food professionally.
"You… You're really going to finish it?" he broke his anger streak and asked.
Eugene only nodded and continued to eat. It took her roughly two hours before she finished all her food and once she was done eating, the waitress gave her dessert which didn't look too sweet for Eugene so she accepted it.
"That too?" Ron's lips trembled as he stared at Eugene in shock.
Eugene nodded, "My stomach always has space for desserts." Desserts that are not too sweet. Aka, tangy pickled fruit she was eating at this moment.
"But… A bowl of that?" There was speechlessness in Ron's voice as he stared at the bowl in front of Eugene that looked wider than Eugene's face.
"Hn" She nodded again and glanced below. This should be about 7 different fruits total. It is okay.
Ron shook his head and sighed, "If you were born a commoner, that house would have gone bankrupt because of you."
When Ron said that, Eugene shook her head, "I would have worked to support my food lifestyle." Before she reincarnated, she did not care about food and ate whatever her manager gave her to eat.
But after reincarnation, she began to care about food. Especially food that will make her grow taller and increase her muscle mass. Due to that interest, she was introduced to different types and varieties of food and began to enjoy eating. Of course, she had to admit that she would sometimes go overboard with eating, however, she wasn't an actress who needed to care about her image anymore hence there was nothing much holding her back.
"Oh," Ron muttered. It sounded very much like what the girl in front of him would do hence he agreed. Judging from the amount of food Eugene eats, it was possible that a commoner Eugene would rather work herself to death to eat than eat less.
When Eugene was done eating, everyone went to their respective room and called it a night.

Eugene cleaned herself up and sat by the coffee table beside the window. She sipped on the tea she made by herself and glanced at the moon sitting high up in the sky. This was the first time she had time to herself ever since waking up today. Though it had only been a day, she felt that it had already been a week since she parted with Euria and everyone back at home. Everything happened so fast but it has only been one day, which feels wrong when you think about it.
Though she knew she was tired, her eyes were wide open as if it didn't want to allow her to go to sleep. Even though Eugene looks like she was very relaxed at the moment, especially because of the ambiance in the room, she wasn't relaxed. Her mind was spinning around coming up with the next course of action she should take as well as worrying about Euria even though she knew that Euria can take care of herself. Not to mention, she was also worried about everyone back home and was worried over their reaction to her disappearance as well as their reaction to the letters she left.
She worried that they might feel betrayed or even sad once they realized that she was gone. Though she hoped that the letters might make them feel a little relieved to know that she was in fact a full-grown adult, she knows that the letters would maybe leave them feeling devastated.
She didn't want to put pressure upon them, but they also deserved to know the truth. She felt that if she didn't tell them now, she would never be able to tell them in the future either. Just like how she chose to leave home to move forward, she had to move forward by telling everyone the truth about her past no matter how afraid she was.
"Haa…" She sighed as she rubbed her head. There was also one thing she was worried about and that was Moniqua. She wasn't sure if Moniqua would be healed and if her blood worked on or not.
There were so many things going on inside her head all at once and she knew that she wouldn't be able to sleep so she decided to change out of her pajamas.
