Episode 198- Followed Eugene since the start
"Haha," A voice belonging to a male laughed out loud as he watched the figure zoomed past people and the streets.
Unbeknownst to Eugene, there had been someone following after her. The man who followed her was the one who stopped Eugene and asked her why she didn't help the woman. However, now he knows that Eugene did help, just in a method one wouldn't normally use.
He watched as Eugene escorted the woman to the bank and watched them bid goodbye. Of course, the 'goodbye' didn't last very long because Eugene turned back and escorted the woman back home. Many times he was close to being caught because he had been following them too closely. He did manage, later on, to keep himself at a distance that would not make Eugene suspicious of him.
He followed Eugene all the way back to the lodge and watched as she climbed to her room before laughing his heart out, "Didn't she say that it was a bother?" He shook his head as he laughed. Why does he feel that this was more bothersome than beating up the thief from the start?
"Such a noble way to resolve things." Though he didn't know Eugene's identity exactly, he could tell that she was an aristocrat by the conversation she had with Riel as well as her way of resolving things with money.
The man reached inside his jacket and pulled a pouch out, 'And here I wasted 5 minutes of my time for nothing.' Before the Lady got her wallet stolen, he had already been following after Eugene. The reason why he followed her was that there was something in Eugene that attracted him to her. It wasn't because of her face that he couldn't see, and neither was it her body covered in a cape. But it was because the moment he saw her, he felt as if someone had ripped his heart out. It felt as if someone was stabbing him in his heart a thousand times.
And because he didn't know why he felt such a thing, he followed after her.
He lost Eugene when he went to retrieve the woman's pouch when suddenly Eugene appeared in his guild. Appeared in his line of sight again. He had been there in the room while Riel and Eugene had their meeting, and heard everything. To be honest, it didn't matter if he was in that room or not because Riel would've had to report everything to him anyway, however, he stayed and listened in.
After Riel and Eugene's meeting, he followed after her again because he found her odd. He found her odd especially because she warned his men about the strong children yet didn't help the woman who lost all her money.
However now, he realized how stupid he was for meddling and stalking someone who wasn't a target for investigation. And that was how he managed to laugh himself to sleep for the first time in his entire life.

The next day
Eugene's head was empty as she rubbed the rose petals between her fingers. From the outside, she looked as if she was relaxing, enjoying the bright afternoon, but inside, no one knew how sleep-deprived she was.
When she had gotten back to the lodge last night, it had been past midnight. However, because the man whom she bumped into made her head spin, by the time she realized it, it was already 4 am.
She knew that she needed more sleep especially because using her blood made her feel weak, however, it was already late afternoon and there were still many things she had to do, hence she got ready and sat by the window as she waited until the time for the meeting with Con and Ron arrived.
10 minutes later...
"Good morning Eugeneia." Ron greeted Eugene with a big smile as she walked into his room.
Eugene paused for a brief second. She walked past Ron to the coffee table and that was when she greeted him, "Good afternoon."
Ron's lips twitched slightly when he realized why she had paused. He walked over to Eugene and poured her a cup of coffee. "Not strong, suitable for children." he pointed out as he poured coffee for her. Dissing her back, for dissing him.
"Hn." Eugene thanked him. Though she'd much prefer her coffee to be strong, light coffee was good enough. Not to mention, drinking strong coffee wasn't good for her yet to be matured body.
"Where is Con?" Eugene asked as she glanced around the room.
"Oh, he'-" before Ron could answer Eugene, a knock on his door was heard.
"Talking of the devil… Come in!" Ron shook his head before allowing Con to come in.
Eugene watched as Con walked over to their table and pointed his tardiness out, "It's odd that you are last."
Con greeted Eugene with a nod and replied in a mumble-like voice "I was outside."
"To?" Eugene's brows raised as she asked Con.
"Transportation center and a guild." He responded with short answers.
"A guild?"
Before Con could answer, Ron answered for him in greater detail, "Con went to the transportation center this morning to get Noelle's message and went out again with the mercenaries who asked for him."
Eugene mouthed an 'Oh' before turning to Con, "Is it about the messenger bird?"
Con nodded, "Also information on the terrain of Xenperia as well as a map." When he finished, he pulled out two pieces of leather wrapped in a roll out of his jacket.
Ron sighed and he pointed out, "Eugeneia. You sneaked out alone didn't you?"
Eugene bothered to respond to Ron, however, her silence confirmed what he said.
"Don't you know that going out alone is dangerous?" He began to nag when suddenly she turned to him and stared up and down his body. And what could he do when Eugene was looking at him with a gaze that told him that he should be looking out for himself instead of caring about other people's business? He shut up.
Who here didn't know that despite being older and taller than her, he was not as strong as her. If they were to do a 1vs1 right now, he would definitely lose. But despite that, he was someone who loved going out for adventures...alone. He was someone who loved leaving school… alone. And leaving school alone almost killed him so who was he to warn her about how dangerous it was to go outside alone? He was no one.
"..."
"They gave you a map?" Eugene was suddenly very curious about the map. She didn't think she would get a map from them and thought that she had to seek out a map from another place herself.
'Are their customer service really that good?' She couldn't help but feel suspicious.
Eugene thought for a moment before deciding to ask Ron, "Do you know anything about this guild Ron?"
"Huh?" Ron's eyebrow raised, "Why?"
Eugene pursed her lips as her face was slightly dark. This expression of hers made everyone wary and they waited for Eugene to continue,
"They seemed to have a lot of information…" she said, after a few seconds of hesitation.
Ron almost dropped from the table because of how anti-climatic her words were! He thought that Eugene was going to preach about how suspicious the guild was, or how odd they were, but no! Her face was dark because they have a lot of information! But of course, they do! They are a guild! Without information, how can one set up a guild!?!
Ron coughed. He had nagged her in his mind but didn't dare do it in real life. He switched gears and explained the guild situation in Xenperia.
"There are 4 prominent guilds in Xenperia. However, a few months ago 1 guild was added to this list, making it 5 prominent guilds in Xenperia. The newly added guild does not go by any name and only goes by the guild." He explained before asking, "So, do you know what the name of the guild you came into contact with is called?"
"...." Eugene blinked and shook her head, "The only thing that was shown on the sign was Guild." She turned to Con, "Do you know the name?"
".... I only saw guild as well." He replied.
"...." So you contacted the famous 'guild' that had risen out of nowhere?! For some reason, Con felt his head throb.
"Why?" Eugene raised a brow at Ron's blank face.
"The guild you contacted should be the guild that rose and became known as one of the best guilds of Xenperia. However, because they have been established only recently, I don't know too much about them." Ron shrugged when he finished speaking.
"What do you know then?"
Ron didn't have to think and answered immediately, "Only that they are a powerful bunch and that their ability to get information is insane.." He paused for a second and continued, "It is very hard to establish yourself as a guild because you need to have a lot of information to become the best of the best. And as you know, there used to be only four good guilds in Xenperia so…"
