Chapter 223 - Knew That She Can Not Escape Without Reinforcements

Episode 216- Knew that she can not escape without reinforcements

The entrance/exit was made by wild animals long ago which was why the bandits didn't realize this.

"I am not hurt Eldest Miss," Pelle assured Eugene as she ran behind Eugene whilst keeping every movement behind her in check.

"You still have the bomb right?"

Pelle's eyes flickered towards Eugene's back at this moment, and she answered, "Yes, Eldest Miss."

"Alright. Make sure to use that if you ever are at a pinnacle. And make sure…" Eugene glanced at the figure slung over her shoulders. It was a pity that she couldn't see over her shoulders however she patted Euria's calves.

"Make sure my dearest sister gets home." One corner of her lips curved but it was soon brought down.

Pelle found Eugene's words weird but she had no time to ponder upon it and responded, "Yes, Eldest Miss." At this moment, the sun shone through the leaves of the tree and onto Eugene's back, making Eugene's figure shine brightly.

This sight made Pelle unable to move her eyes. Eugene's back looked reassuring and strong, a back that made Pelle want to place her complete trust on. Which she already did, of course. When Eugene went to the basement, there were many thoughts that went through Pelle's mind. And one of those thoughts was how many aristocrats would go out of their own way to save their siblings? The answer was, there were no aristocrats that would go save their sister if something like this occurred.

Only offspring born to the Great Nobles would. It was obvious but there was a tight bond that all the Great Nobles had, and this extended to their children. Eugene was brave and didn't cower in front of her enemies. She even managed to retrieve Euria back.

But Ron. Eugene mentioned briefly that she came with Ron so she knew that Ron also came to save Euria. Ron was someone who had no blood relations with Euria, and was born to the house of Graeme. But despite that, his sense of comradery and his bond with Euria and Eugene made him help Eugene without hesitation. Again, which aristocrat family would do that but the Great Nobles?

"There are at least a few more kilometers before we reach the exit." Eugene maneuvered around very professionally and just right 2km before she reached the exit, she suddenly came to a stop.

Pelle, who was a few meters behind, also stopped. She was about to question why Eugene had stopped when Eugene held her palm up for Pelle to stay quiet. Eugene's finger twitched up, motioning to Pelle that they had to move up.

"Many incoming enemies," Eugene whispered with furrowed brows. She was very sure that the bandits wouldn't know if this entry, however, it was only that she was 'sure'. She wasn't positive that they didn't know.

Eugene turned around and handed Euria to Pelle. She then took out a thick rope, folded in half before throwing it over the tree. When the rope flew back to her, she tied a knot around it and asked Pelle to tie Euria to the rope, before she climbed up the tree professionally. No matter how strong Eugene was, she wasn't positive that she could climb the tree while guaranteeing Euria's safety. Many times, she had fallen from the tree because she misstepped. And she didn't want to risk that especially with Euria, hence this was the only method.

Pelle gave Eugene the motion that Euria was secured and Eugene pulled the unconscious Euria up while Pelle left to hide in another tree.

The footsteps got closer and closer. Instinctively, Eugene reached to the corner of her jacket and touched the gourd. In case people noticed her, she was prepared to bomb the living hell out of them.

Just that…

A striking red hair entered her eyes. The hair was short and it was on an elderly man. What's even more shocking was his white eyes that made it seem that he was blind when he wasn't. Eugene's eyes widened immediately as she lowered her guards down.  Following after the red-haired man, a teen who appeared to be of the age of 16-17 entered Eugene's vision. The corner of Eugene's lips curved up as she watched the 15-year-old child who had the height of his older peers.

Eugene shuffled around in order to get down but this immediately alerted the young teen and the old man from below. Their guards were put up as they held their weapons to Eugene. Eugene didn't care and grabbed on the rope before climbing down with Euria on the rope.

As soon as she landed on the ground, she could feel the immense pressure radiating from the two people behind her. She nevertheless turned around before putting her hoody away.

"You came." There was a small smile on Eugene's lips as she stared at the teen and the elderly man.

The teen's face was blank for a second before he smiled. "Of course."

Eugene did not shy away and observed the change of the person standing in front of her carefully. When she first met him, he was 8 years old and was already very beautiful. Especially when he smiled. Now, instead of being beautiful, the boy had a manly yet clean appearance. His pupils were light brown and his eyes curved up as they smiled at Eugene.

"Long time no see." The wind blew over his short black hair. This was already unlike the men of Zene who grow their hair long.

"Greetings, Your Highness, Crown Prince Nexiel." Eugene bowed politely and belatedly. Euria who was slung over her shoulders didn't move and remained still when Eugene bowed.

"Is it not quite too late to be polite?" Crown Prince Nexiel asked, however his eyes hovered around Euria's lifeless figure on Eugene's shoulders. His eyes dimmed down when he saw no movement from Euria.

Eugene naturally noticed this however she said nothing. Eugene had discovered 7 years ago that the Crown Prince's eyes looked at Euria differently. This difference carried on even until today.

"Thank you for coming, Your Highness," Eugene replied politely again.

Crown Prince Nexiel moved his eyes away from Euria and looked at Eugene straight in the eyes. "It is only natural to help out a friend. Thank you for the letter."

As soon as Eugene heard the word friend, her eyebrow lifted and she smirked but she said nothing. When Eugene went to the border to get the children Euria trained she had written two letters. One to Levis and the other to the Crown Prince.

Her letter was not out of the blue as she had always been in contact with the Crown Prince. Keeping in contact with people was something she'd never done in her past life because she saw no point in that. However, in this life, she has many friends and has been consistent in keeping in contact even though her letters are normally 1 sentence long. And the Crown Prince was one of the people she kept in contact with.

She didn't trust Levis's reinforcement because she knew he was never going to make it in time. The reason for this was because she knew that most of Xenperia's 'moveable' knights had already been sent to Lelips and that Levis would not be able to move out any more knights.

Eugene knew that she would not be able to escape without reinforcements or help which was why she sent a letter to the Crown Prince to ask for reinforcement. She was also sure that Crown Prince Nexiel would send reinforcement here no matter what. One, because he was close to Raden, two because they were 'friends', and three, because of Euria.

"What's the plan?" Eugene asked the Crown Prince. In the corner of her eyes, she saw Pelle coming down looking very confused as to why a Crown Prince from Zene would come. Yet despite her confusion, she did not ask any questions and remained still.

"Reinforcements are waiting in Zene. I will bring Euria to Zene and wait for the Xenperian knights to come to escort her. Along with that, I will have Zene's knights escort her to safety as well." He replied very seriously.

Eugene nodded. Agreeing with the Crown Prince's plans. "Yes. That is indeed a good and safe method."

Just that, in order to allow time for Euria to escape to Zene, they would have to divert the enemies away. They have to do it in a way that no one would pursue them until the enemies realize that Euria is not in Xenperia. And to make that happen, someone will have to divert the enemies away.

Eugene's eyes were hard when suddenly she noticed Elder Gres staring at her. She quickly calmed down and greeted him, "Nice to see you again, Elderly Gres.. I am not sure if Elderly remembers me, however, I have met you briefly in Zene."
