Chapter 276 - How Was She Supposed To Know They Were This… Weak!

Episode 269- How was she supposed to know they were this… weak!

Hen was mediocre in terms of fighting and was able to intercept two opponents without Eugene having to do anything. Anytime an opponent wanted to strike Eugene, they were either stopped by Hen or hesitated to hurt her. It went on like this until Hen singlehandedly won their first fight.

Eugene turned to Hen who was sweating a lot and said, "I won't learn if I don't practice." She thought of many things to say such as, don't cut in front of me or don't bother me, but those words were too harsh so she tried to convince him with mediocre words.

Hen turned to Eugene and seemed to have a deep realization. "Alright, I understand."

Eugene didn't wait for Hen to continue his words and intercepted, "I will fight this time, you stay back." As soon as she said that, Hen was going to refuse but Eugene insisted, "We will take turns. After all, it does not matter if one of us falls so long as the other wins."

Though that wasn't what Hen was concerned about he was forced by Eugene to agree. He was too shy to say that he didn't want Eugene to get hurt. But he was confident that her opponents won't try to fight seriously with her which was why he agreed.

Eugene and Hen got to their second opponent. This time, half the class was already done with their matches and was crowding around Eugene to watch her match. In their eyes, only Eugene stepped up while Hen was hiding behind her like a little coward. Naturally, everyone got mad at Hen and glared at him like he was some kind of trashy thing. How dare he let a girl fight for him! Hen's calm face did not help please their anger and made them even more annoyed!

"Come at me seriously," Eugene said to her opponents before the match began to Hen's shock behind her. He of course shook his head fiercely at the opponents to indicate not to do as she said when suddenly Eugene ran in front.

Her move shocked everyone as they did not see when or how she moved. The only thing they knew was that their sweat glands began to produce massive amounts of cold sweats. Eugene struck the opponents on their necks without giving them a single chance to prove themselves worthy. The opponent flopped to the ground like dead fish.

"Do not be distracted," Eugene said coldly, but her opponents did not leave even a grunt of pain for her.

"..." Eugene stared blankly at the opponents on the ground and then turned to Hen. This… was not what she intended. She didn't even use that much strength. How was she supposed to know they were this… weak!

Just like that, they were promoted to round 3. This time, most of the students were already done with their matches and had joined the students who watched Eugene's 2nd match.

Eugene and Hen were the only ones doing 1vs2 so when the students who just got defeated in round 2 saw this, they felt very unfair. But of course, if they were to see Eugene standing in front of Hen, they would show the opposite reaction and scold Hen for being disgraceful.

"You want to be a man now?" Said the student in front of Hen. The reason why he was smirking was that he was confident in himself and is aware that he was much stronger than Hen.

"..." Hen did not reply. He? A man? He was no longer a man since round 2. The emotions from the last fight left him flabbergasted and speechless.

Hen shook his head back to earth. "Come at me." Hen motioned for the opponents to fight. To be honest, he wasn't worried anymore. Lose? There was no way they were going to lose! Now he understood why Eugene said that they will win. It wasn't him winning for her, but her winning for him! Of course, they would win! Look at how powerful the person behind him was! There's no doubt that she was the strongest 'man' in this class!

He didn't know what he could do for Eugene, but what he knows is that he had to try his best to be a worthy enough partner for her. Hence without hesitation, he fought his opponent very seriously and with all his might.

Naturally, the sudden eagerness from Hen surprised everyone, inducing Eugene and the opponent. But it soon became obvious that their skill levels weren't the same. Once Hen's opponent recovered from his shock, Hen's every move was suppressed. Hen wasn't able to touch the opponent nor was he able to retaliate. However, despite all that, Hen never allowed his opponent to hit him in critical areas. Area's Hen thought was critical he was able to evade, and areas that weren't critical Hen allowed the opponent to hit him. Like this, Hen was able to prolong the fight to the opponents' annoyance.

Everyone's 3rd matches were already finished but only Hen's and Eugene's match was still ongoing. Hen's strategy was simple, drag it out as much as possible. He dragged and dragged until the places he was hit became unbearable and he eventually got defeated. Of course, the opponents thought it was already over when Eugene stepped up.

"... Miss, please admit defeat." Said one of the opponents whose guard was completely down. He hunched over trying to catch his breath in front of Eugene. But by the time he realized it, his eyes were already staring as the cloud drifted in the sky.

To everyone's horror, especially the partner of the opponent who got thrown to the ground single-handedly, no one dared speak nor stare at the girl who just viciously defeated her opponent in one breath. Naturally, everyone saw how Eugene moved. Eugene took one step to the opponent, struck him with her sword, and flipped him over her shoulders with one hand.

Eugene stood in front of the boy on the floor with her sword pointed towards the partner.

"Next."

Her cold words woke the student in front of her. He immediately went into position and held his sword in front of her. This whole time, 'danger' was ringing in his head, cold sweat forming on his forehead.

Eugene decided to use the Veria swordsmanship style and attacked the opponent in front of her. But what does anticipating her attack help with anything when his skills can't compare to her? Not only was he unable to attack he was only able to defend himself pathetically.

Her sword was powerful and strong, shocking everyone froze at how much sound her sword produced from a single stroke. Beyond that, they were shocked at how beautiful her swordsmanship was. The famous Veria style swordsmanship is one of the most powerful styles in the world. And she was using this style right now.

Eugene used just her sword to defeat her opponent this time.

"I admit defeat." Her opponent was on his knees as his sword stuck to the ground to balance his body. Not just him but everyone could tell that underneath his training outfit, his body was all bruised and purple. He didn't even know how he was alive right now.

Eugene and Hen went through one more round before ending up as one of the finalists for the last match.

"My name is Neo, and his name is Mas, please go easy on us fellow students." Neo smiled as he introduced himself and Mas. Neo had bowl cut bang while Mas had a neat appearance but with curly ends. These two were the students who finished running the 5km before Eugene. Someone whom Eugene noticed since the start.

"Eugene. Nice to meet you." Eugene responded and immediately changed to a basic pose.

There was mutual silence between the 3 as everyone surrounding them watched them carefully and in deep silence. The first person to make a move was Mas, who rushed towards Eugene and swung his sword at her with quick and strong intensity.

"!" Eugene blocked and returned a swing with similar power. She might've lowered her guard down or Mas was stronger than expected because when she blocked his swing just now, instead of blocking flawlessly her sword had been pushed back by 3cm due to how powerful the strike was.

Eugene and Mas stared at each other before mutually attacking each other. Unlike her fights against other students and unlike his fight with other students they were both serious and fought each other without any other thoughts other than victory in mind.

If his sword sounded as if he was a hammer repeatedly hitting the wall, her sword sounded piercing, as if a flock of birds were calling their friends back home. When Eugene attacked, Mas would block, and when Mas would attack, Eugene would block.. This went on for a while until Neo joined in, becoming 2 vs 1.
