"Sui Chenyou…" Jin Renguang dragged the chair out and sat down, carrying with him an imposing and commanding aura. "…right?"
Sui Chenyou crossed his arms on his chest, his eyes staring ahead blankly as if there were no other people in the room. He cut a sorry figure with his shirt still stained with Dong Jingcuo's blood. The splint on his nose had torn off amidst the final yet futile struggle when he attempted to escape before he was caught by Xu Binchen, revealing a purplish and hideous bruise. No, actually it looked more horrendous than before because Xu Binchen had taken the opportunity to punch him a few more times.
Jin Renguang continued leisurely, "Do you know why you are here?"
Sui Chenyou quietly sneered. He lifted his eyelids, eyes oozing with bloodthirstiness. "Because I injured that brat?" He pointed at his face and lifted his fingers which were still thickly bandaged. "Look, he caused me these injuries too, so isn't it reasonable for me to retaliate in my own way?"
Jin Renguang lifted one brow, amused by how Sui Chenyou tried to paint the black into white. "So, you think you're innocent?"
Sui Chenyou shrugged.
Jin Renguang leaned forward. His eyes slowly narrowed, flashing with a sharp glint.
In an instant, Sui Chenyou's whole body stiffened and he subconsciously clenched his fists and took on a defensive state, thanks to the reflex built for years to resist any possible threat coming his way. Although the other man didn't do anything, Sui Chenyou still couldn't help but rise his guard and look at Jin Renguang warily.
In response to Sui Chenyou's excessive reaction, Jin Renguang only snorted softly. "I will give you two choices. First, you can squat in jail for the rest of your life and second…" He paused for a moment. "Connect me with someone."
Sui Chenyou showed an astonished look. "Even a police officer like you want to seek network and fame?"
Jin Renguang leaned back and showed a profound smile. "Why not?"
The tattooed man contemplated back and forth but still felt that the second choice was the most beneficial. Come on, he didn't even consider the first one. Asking him to rot in jail? They had better kill him first! Still, he inquired cautiously. "Who is it? Someone who can be traded with my lifetime punishment surely isn't someone ordinary."
Jin Renguang spread his palms helplessly. "Your choice. You only have to know that if you fail, then our prison will welcome you with open arms."
Sui Chenyou gnashed his teeth, his eyes bloodshot. He really hated the way he was oppressed by the other party, it was truly such a nauseating and unbearable feeling. He had once vowed to live a life where he could do whatever he wanted and for that, he didn't hesitate to sell his cheap father as a tribute to the mafia organization, earning him a secure place within.
But look at where he was! He still had to be oppressed by this son of a bitch and the worst thing was, he was helpless to retaliate. Sui Chenyou spat out through gritted teeth. "Say it."
Even though he was only a leader in the small district, his network and connection couldn't be underestimated. The mafia members naturally had a stronger sense of camaraderie with people on their line of business. Sui Chenyou calculated it properly. For now, he would cooperate with the police and then, as soon as he got into contact with the brothers in another district, he would definitely take the chance to escape!
Jin Renguang tapped his fingers on the table. He didn't speak for a while, making the atmosphere thick and tense. A second before Sui Chenyou totally lost his patience, Jin Renguang finally spat out, "Your boss, Jia Renyu's son."
This time, Sui Chenyou was genuinely appalled. He shouted angrily. "Are you out of your mind?! You want me to search for Boss' child? Why don't you just ask me to kill the country's President and replace his position?!"
Jin Renguang asked, his tone completely oblivious. "You can't?"
Sui Chenyou roared, his body shot forward and grabbed Jin Renguang's collar. "Are you fucking kidding me?! How many people do you think have been trying to find the Boss' child all these years? Yet they never succeeded. Not. Even. One!! Why do you think I am able to do it—ugh!"
Electricity shot through Sui Chenyou's body from where his leg was chained to the chair. He let go of Jin Renguang's collar and fell back to his chair, convulsing slightly.
"Watch your manner, boy." Jin Renguang frowned and pinched his collar with two fingers, disgusted. Well, he definitely had to take another bath after this and washed all of the stain away. "I will give you three hours to think properly."
After saying that, Jin Renguang left with rapid steps.
Who knew how many bacteria were on those hands? Just looking at Sui Chenyou's dirty fingernails and the half dried blood stain on his palm was enough to churn his stomach. Jin Renguang waved toward Tang Wei who popped his head up from the computer and proceeded to the shower room.
"What is Captain doing?" Tang Wei muttered, confused.
"Take a shower." Ke Shao walked in and heard Tang Wei's question. He grinned in schadenfreude. "Just now, Sui Chenyou touched his collar."
Tang Wei grimaced and expressed sympathy and deep pity toward a certain Sui's fate in the upcoming future. "So that's why Captain's face is so stinky." He rolled his swivel chair and elbowed the fatty that had garnered mushrooms in the corner. "Hey, Wang Chengbing. How is it? Have you found Jia Renyu's son yet?"
Wang Chengbing brushed him away in irritation. "Scram! If you have time to ask me, then you should just do other work!"
Ke Shao propped his cheek up with his hand, asking. "Is it that difficult to search for him?"
Wang Chengbing felt pain pierced through his heart and he almost got a heart attack from Ke Shao's innocent question. "Difficult?! It's super, ultra hellish mode okay?! All we know is that he's surnamed Jia, around twenty years old, and Chinese! Do you have any idea how many people are surnamed Jia in China?! Approximately four million people! How many among them are around 20 years old? More than fifty thousand people. Fifty thousand! There's even one close to us in Sangzhe University!"
Ke Shao was bombarded with his outburst until he was stunned silly. "Then…could it possibly be him?"
Wang Chengbing sneered and turned his attention back to the computer, too lazy to even give Ke Shao a second look. Because his computers were broken, he had no choice but to take shelter in the police station and make do with these super slow and annoying computers. "Do you think we are in a novel where the important characters are gathered in one place? Dream on!"
He huffed in annoyance. "If we can find Jia Renyu's son just like that, then I will gladly livestream to eat a sandal!"
Tang Wei also showed a frustrated face. "Aaaah, I really envy our colleagues in the General Crime Division. What right do they have to enjoy a vacation? I can't even catch a healthy six hours of sleep a day!"
Never had Wang Chengbing expected that his blind guess would land him a jackpot. Later on, when they finally found Jia Renyu's son with much difficulty, the first person who collapsed into tears was him.
Holy shit, they really did gather in one place!
