Chapter 108 - HellHound

The morning was indeed bright and beautiful with radiant sunrays illuminating the entire atmosphere, dissolving in warmth.

.

Taking a deep huff of breath out, dressed up in formal attire, Eva halted momentarily before entering her workplace, i.e. the cafe, holding a frown grimace. She was gazing inside through the glass walls as the cafe seemed empty. Mr. Beck was nowhere present inside and she was staring vividly, with countless thoughts running inside her mind.

The awkward incident that happened between both of them in the last evening, turned out to be much absurd to be able to face each other from now on rather unlike their amicable relation before. Eva was perplexed, anxiety was swallowing her inside, and consistently she was sighing heavily.

"Why do I feel so nervous before entering the cafe? Mr. Beck isn't present inside, then why am I supposed to be anxious? Damn...if isn't for the money...I wouldn't have to be here helplessly... I...I should head inside and as a normal employee, continue my work for today... But...I gotta get out of here right before the sunset grows darker..."

Cheering herself as hard as possible, taking a deep breath inside she firmly pushed the door before walking in. The place was neatly decorated before she came, as if, someone had properly taken care of the place. While heading straight to the staff kitchen, a unique sight startled her a bit. She found a small bouquet of fresh purple orchids and a sticky note on the large wooden table. Surprised and curious, she pulled out the note before touching the bouquet.

.

"Dear Miss Eva,

Very good morning to you. It's almost the time of your arrival but I am so sorry, due to some urgent business I am heading out first before even greeting you. I am truly sorry and as a token of my apology, I am leaving these freshly grown beautiful orchids for a beauty like you. I hope you will enjoy today working here. I may come back late today so you can head out first after your shift. See you soon :)

-Mr. Beck."

.

Reading the sticky note, a warm smile appeared on her face as she glanced back at the orchids. They were indeed fresh and softly, she picked them up in her arms.

"I think I really did misjudge his intentions... The man indeed seems like a kind and considerate person, maybe...I am being overly skeptical of his sweet gesture. Ahh, I feel bad for doubting him so much. He even left these orchids for me... Why did I imagine horrible things about him? You are a fool Eva, absolutely a fool..." Mumbling on her own, tenderly she sniffed the beautiful fragrance from the flowers before caressing them with her slender fingers.

.

Standing at a measurable distance from the cafe, a tall, fair-skinned, elegant person dressed up in a charcoal black hoodie, black denim, and a black sunglass, while watching Eva sharply through the glass walls standing behind a gigantic wall of a skyrise building. As soon as she picked up the flowers in her arm, a victorious wicked grin appeared on the face of the person. Slowly he removed his goggles and it was no one other than Beck, chuckling with a cunning smirk imprinted on his lips.

"I knew, it would be a piece of cake to convince a fool like you... What a dumb woman..." Blurting out in a deep low voice, carefully he took his phone out of his hoodie for dialing a number. The phone rang a few times before the person on the other handpicked it up, answering him in a cold voice, "hello?"

"Just give me 7 days," glaring at Eva from his blazing eyeballs, he murmured in a low rugged pitch, leaning his back against the wall.

"But what if you fail to execute your plan? You had intended to kill the woman on the 1st day, isn't it?" The voice seemed coarse and much crude, rebuking him over the call.

"I had attempted to do my work but that darn hematite... That pendant...which the alpha has given her would definitely alarm her before I make my move and she would be able to escape from me...I have to prepare a proper plan before executing it--"

"She is the only weakness of that bastard!" The grumbling voice grew dense over the phone as it interrupted his sentence. "Snatching her away from him will be our first victory... Besides, that woman seems kind of special! I believe, she will be a delicious meal for you, Beck."

Licking his puffy lips voraciously with his pink tongue, he smiled with a devilish expression on his face before he whispered, "I have promised you, Master. And a Hellhound always treats a promise worthy over his life... Don't worry, I will chop her head off and present it to you. You can devour her head and...I will devour her delicious body..."

"I will be waiting for your present, but don't make me wait too long...Good luck." The call was disconnected in the blink of a second and turning his phone off, he tossed a wide, ingenious smirk occupying his face.

"7 days to go..." He muttered on his own and tried to walk away in the opposite direction from the cafeteria while attempting to put his goggles on.

BUMP!

All of a sudden, he bumped his shoulders to a rich, slender, and graceful woman who was coming opposite from the direction he was heading onto. The lady seemed to be in an irked mood from before and as they bumped quite hard into each other, she stared invincibly into his dark black eyeballs, sulking her face.

"Hey! Are you blind? Can't you watch where are you going?" She yelled out quite aloud, catching the attention of a few passersby.

"I am sorry, Ma'am. But you were the first one to bump into me," he continued staring back at her looking all composed.

"Woah! Such a sly lier! Look everyone, how he is lying straight on my face! You are putting the blame on me so cleverly... I know men like you who know nothing but lying pathetically---"

All of a sudden a shocking event happened before everyone! The woman suddenly stopped grumbling and her lower jaws started quivering hard! Her red puffy lips turned bluish along with her right arm which started to shiver vigorously. In a fraction of a second, she collapsed down on the ground with some kind of whitish froth rolling down the corner of her partly open mouth as she stopped shivering!

"Oh my God! What happened to her! Oh my gosh, is she having a stroke? Call the ambulance! Hurry! Help her, someone!"

All the people nearby sounded intensely panicked, gathering around her on the ground. Some of them started to monitor her pulse and a few of them were calling emergency medical aid!

Glancing at her collapsed body momentarily, Beck took out a small sigh before putting back his black goggles before moving away from the crowd. After walking a few steps away from them, his feet halted as he took a small peek behind at the woman lying collapsed on the ground.

"Poor human! Stare straight into a hellhound's eye for more than 10 seconds and your death will be inevitable... Though, this time I am not responsible for it, but I should have worn my contacts at least. Anyways, poor thing, you yourself chose to gaze into my eyes and lost your life... May the deity bless your poor soul with an afterlife..." Tossing a vicious chuckle on his face, he chose to walk away silently humming ancient folklore.

"I am stuck in a dilemma."

Flinching hard on Czar's sudden cold response, Clara revived her senses as she was lost in deep worriments regarding her friendship with Eva. She raised her chin up and stared straight into his eyes.

"Dilemma?"

"Yes. I don't know why am I stuck in it... It's kind of stressful..." Czar twirled the glass of water on his hand, frowning his grimace.

"What kind of dilemma, Master?"

"Umm, to be precise, I...I have learned about a dreadful plan being plotted against someone... And I am not supposed to share it with anyone either... If I keep my mouth shut and let it happen the way it's planned, things will entirely benefit me or I can say...I can score my first glorious victory...

But...

If I keep it hidden... A... person will die...and..." He was struggling hard to utter his heartfelt words straight out of his mouth and trailed off.

"And you don't want that person to die, isn't it?" Clara responded abruptly the exact words he was trying to utter surprising him to a great extent.
