Chapter 153 - Bad For My Heart

"Wh-What? Sue me?" Startled at her fiery response, he blurted out his words in awe, scrunching his brows anxiously.

"Yes! I will sue you! I saw you with my own eyes when you picked it up from the ground! You were definitely trying to steal it right away, don't you? Give it back!" Furiously snapping at him in a loud voice, she almost seized the handbag straight from his arms leaving him more palpitated.

"He-Hey, wait a minute! I guess you are getting it all wrong! I didn't pick it up with such a nasty intention." He was nervously trying to defend himself, looking a bit restless.

"Then why did you pick it up when no one even bothered to glance at it?"

"Because...I was thinking of submitting it to a cop so that...the owner can find it! I was wondering that the owner would be too worried about losing such an expensive thing! That's why...I just wanted to help!" His deep voice sounded a bit ruffled, while he was deliberately defending his pure intentions.

Ivory quietly gazed at him for a while and a blunt, canny smirk escaped her slender, roseate lips. "Woah! Do you think you can fool me with such a deceptive response? Do I look like an air-head to you?" She grumbled.

"I am not lying...Since others didn't bother about and I intended to pick it up to help you...how can you be skeptical about my intentions?" He was frowning his face, opposing her boldly.

"Why should I trust a human like you?" Narrowing her gaze, she fussed at him.

"Human like me? Then do you want to trust animals?" Blinking his eyelashes in wonder, he reciprocated back.

"Whatever! I don't even want to converse with a thief like you! Wait, I should inform it myself to the cops!" Suddenly, she grabbed her phone and impulsively tried to dial a number.

All panicked at her furious response, he took a step closer to her and tried to grab her arm intending to stop her from calling the cops. "Please wait a minute, you are getting it all wrong! Do I look like a thief to you?"

Swirling her eyeballs in rage, she hissed at him, "don't you dare touch my arm--eeekkk!"

All of a sudden, her sharp long toe-heel slipped on its own, and losing the balance she was about to fall on the ground hitting her head hard. Quickly, Eric grabbed her tightly by the waist, holding her in his broad arms. He protected her from falling down and intensely kept looking at her. Grasping his suit with the sudden stumble, she seemed a bit startled but for the first time, their eyes tightly locked on each other.

Resting in his arms, she looked like a frail woman, soft as a feather. As both of their faces were in close proximity to the other one, unexpectedly, his heart started to beat like crazy as if it could burst anytime out of his chest. His jowls started to quiver and while locking gaze with her, his feet started to temblor anxiously. He started breathing quite heavily and clasped his grip around her small waist.

"Why is my heart pounding so fast? Why am I feeling so nervous? Damn...her cologne...smells so good... She is so close to me right now...why do I feel like I am going crazy? Calm down...please calm down my heart! Don't beat so fast! I am gonna get a heart attack at this rate!" He was mumbling inside his mind gulping his saliva anxiously.

"Get the fuck away from me!!" Suddenly, she shoved him away from her thrusting him with her elbow and shrieking in a loud voice. She was catching the attention of a few passersby who were whispering among themselves watching these two.

Getting rid of his clasp, she scowled her face angrily while he seemed more concerned than ever.

"Why the fuck you held me in your arms? How dare you!"

"But...I just saved you from falling down! You stumbled on your own and how can you blame me for protecting you from tripping?"

"I hate it when humans touch me! It irks me so much!" Glowering her fiery eyes at him, she was gnashing her jowls in anger.

"What's wrong with her? Why is she rebuking me so unnecessarily? And why does she is always mentioning humans?" Wondering inside his mind, he made a fretful face before responding to her.

"I am sorry if you felt uncomfortable that I pulled you so suddenly...and from now on, I won't touch you without your consent... No touching, okay?

And... I really didn't want to steal your purse because if it was my intention...I would have already run away with it rather than standing here in front of you. Madam... Not all humans carry an evil intention. So...you can be a bit less angry around me." His voice reverberated softly while he was trying to explain his remark, staring at her with a fond sneer.

"What the fuck? He looks like a complete dumb freak! I guess I mustn't involve with him anymore..." Wondering inside her mind, slowly she took a step back and frowning her face, she muttered out, "I don't wanna see your face anymore. Stay out of my sight from today!"

"Huh?"

Surprised at her harsh declaration, he saw her grumpily walking away from him tapping her heels aloud. While he was about to stop her from leaving, all of a sudden his phone rang out loud and quickly he took it out of his pocket turning it off.

As soon as he put the phone back inside, he raised his chin up and got deadpanned in shock! Just a few steps apart she was walking away from him a second ago but when he looked in the direction again, it seemed as if she had disappeared in the thin air! All the passersby were minding their own business, everything as usual as before but only she was missing!

"Wh...What is this? Did she just evaporate in the air? Did she really disappear?" Impulsively looking around him, get gulped his saliva while rolling his gaze. "Damn it! I didn't even get to ask her name! I was thinking of asking for her contact information...Shit! Where did she go?"

Mumbling on his own, for a few seconds he tried to glance around but his attempts were of no use. She was nowhere to be seen and hopelessly taking a heavy sigh out, he was sulking his face.

"Damn that phone call! Why did it have to interrupt me at that time! If I didn't look away from her...perhaps...I could have at least known her name... Now where I am gonna find her again? Shit...what a terrible luck I have..." Helplessly, he stared in the direction for a while before walking away with a glum face.

"I have never encountered such a wild woman like her... Something was truly special about her! And...damn...my heart was almost about to burst out of my chest when I held her in my arms... That kind of emotion, I have never felt in my life. Is it possible...that...I already have a crush on her? Damn...I guess...she is really bad for my heart!" A small, canny smirk escaped his lips while he continued staring at the direction Ivory walked by.

.....

A bit far from Clara's house, Eva was fidgeting anxiously standing under a giant streetlight, frowning her face. She looked intensely worried while squirming her toes in concern.

"Damn it! Mr. Eric must have already told Clara everything about that awful date. Shit... She must be too frustrated with me. I don't have the courage to go back to her house but...I don't want to stay alone in my home. Arghh, what should I do?" Muttering in a perplexed tone, she was stroking her hair looking very intense. Biting her nails, her knees gave upon the strength and she squatted down on the ground, taking a deep sigh.

"I have caused her so much trouble already... She must be having a hard time because of me... But... I am not ready to move on yet... Everything... Every little thing around reminds me of Zeus... I still love him with my whole heart... Then...How can I accept a different man when someone is still residing?

Damn, how am I going to live with these painful memories? I am going back and forth tangled in between my emotions! I shouldn't forget they are the ones who snatched my family from me... I am all alone in the world today just for those heinous creatures...

Yet after knowing everything and...running away from him... Why does he still matter to me the most? Why do I remind of his smile whenever I close my eyes? How can I love a wolf...Why can't I forget these painful memories? Darn..." Tugging her head inside her elbow groove, she was mumbling her worries stroking her hair in palpitation.

.

"Then...should I help you this time?" A deep, intense voice summoned while someone stood right in front of her, tapping bold footsteps.
