Chapter 331 - A Girl Like Her?

Yuhan was startled to see Jia Fei sitting in the living room. He looked around and was wondering if he entered the wrong house when he heard her say," Well, the red car, it's mine. And Yes, I like loud colors." 

He closed his parted lips awkwardly and stared at her in bewilderment. When he got out of the car, he spotted a red car parked in front of the Mansion and wondered if his mother bought another car. 

He didn't think for a second that this car could be...hers. He stared at her for a few more seconds when his mother came back with the servants following her, " Why are you standing there? Come and sit." 

He stared at his mother who was directing the servants to place the snacks and tea on the glass table. He frowned seeing her strangely calm demeanor. " Mom, did you call her here? Why?"

" Ah, wait...do you know her? How?" He asked. 

Yao Zixin sat on the single sofa and stared at his son's shocked expressions, " Of course, I called her. Since you were not introducing her to me, I have to take things in my hand myself." 

Yuhan was now even more confused. Introducing her?

" Why are you still standing there? Come and sit." Yao Zixin urged her son to take a seat next to Jia Fei, who was also speechless. 

Just like Yuhan, Jia Fei was also surprised at the ambitious words of Yuhan's mother. A while ago, she was wondering what to eat for dinner when she got a phone call from an unknown number. 

Upon attending the phone, she heard a mature woman's voice who introduced herself as Yuhan's mother. She was surprised too and was wondering why she called her out of the blue. 

" I have heard a lot about you. I was wondering if we can meet and have a meal once." Yao Zixing said on the phone. 

Jia Fei laughed awkwardly and wondered what had Yuhan said to his mother that she called her personally. " Well, I would love to. You're my friend's mother after all," she said carefully. 

Yao Zixin raised brows at her careful words and said," That's great. Then come to our house for dinner tonight. I'll send you the address...or...do you know it already?" she asked meaningfully. 

" Eh?" Jia Fei exclaimed. What does that mean? " Ah, I know Yuhan's place address. Do you mean to come there?" She asked carefully. 

Since Yuhan's mother called her, Yuhan must know about this arrangement as well. Otherwise, who calls their children's friends out of blue and invites them to dinner without their children knowing? 

Yao Zixin was speechless upon hearing her bold statement and laughed, " So you already went to his place, that's...great. I'll send you Yao Mansion's address, just come straight to that address."

Yuhan hesitantly sat next to Jia Fei and glanced at her in puzzlement. Inviting her to his place was not that awkward as much as seeing her at his parent's place. 

Seeing his mother talking to a servant, asking to get more snacks from the kitchen, he leaned over to Jia Fei and whispered, " Why didn't you tell me earlier that you're coming here?"

Jia Fei was flabbergasted and shot him a glare, " How the hell would I know that you don't know anything about this? Also, why are you even asking me this? Didn't you give her my number?" 

" No, I didn't." He waved his hands in denial. 

She frowned at him, " And what the hell you told her about us? Why do I feel as if I am being assessed by my mother-in-law at the moment?"

He pursed his lips and cleared his throat awkwardly, " Why would I tell her anything about you? It's not like you're my girlfriend." He cleared. 

" As if I am dying to be with you." she scoffed. After he helped her the other day to take care of a drunk Lin Hao, she realized that he is not that bad as she has perceived him. 

That's why she didn't mind befriending him. 

But...what's with this awkward arrangement? 

Yao Zixin pursed her lips upon noticing them nudging their elbows and whispering something in front of her. 

She had only heard about this girl but upon seeing them together like this, they seemed to be quite close. He has never been this way with Xingren either, even when they were engaged and were in talks of marriage in the future. 

Her expressions hardened but she managed to put a smile on her face, " Jia Fei, right? Why aren't you having anything? I especially prepared all of this for you." she said to Jia Fei while pointing towards the food on the table. 

" Ah, Thank you, auntie." Jia Fei finally stopped arguing with Yuhan and picked up a glass of orange juice from the table and took a sip of it. 

" So...what's the relationship between you two?" Yao Zixin asked out of nowhere, making Jia Fei choke on her juice. 

" Ahh, Haa.." 

Seeing Jia Fei coughing, Yuhan passed her some tissues and patted her back, " Are you okay now? Here, drink water." 

Yao Zixin frowned as it was her first time seeing his son treating some other girl with care. Although he was quite protective of Xu Nuan in front of her as well,  there is something different about this girl. 

After he went on a blind date with the daughter of the mayor last time, he has been acting differently. He stopped going on attending the blind dates arranged by her and wanted to do things according to him. 

When she looked around, she found out that the girl is spreading rumors that he is in a relationship with some popular girl. 

Because of this, no one is ready to introduce their daughters to Yuhan since he is already taken. 

When she asked that girl, the girl looked so excited about going on the blind date with Yuhan. Because after she went on the blind date, she got to meet her idol who is also Yuhan's girlfriend. 

Yuhan has a girlfriend? Impossible. She thought. 

She wasn't planning on telling her the name of the person, but she mistakenly told her the name of the girl in excitement. She was thinking of confronting Yuhan about this but it's not like he was gonna reveal everything to her. 

She managed to get Yuhan's phone in her hands last time when she went to his place. When she searched the name 'Jia Fei' on the phone, she couldn't find anything. 

She was relieved to see that it's just a rumor and nothing. But at that time, he received a message from a person named ' Crazy Girl.' 

[Crazy Girl: I can't believe that you're old enough to marry and have kids but cannot make decisions in your life. You should tell your mother straight how you feel about all this marriage stuff.]

She scoffed in disbelief seeing the message from the girl. Who the hell is she to instigate her son against her? 

When she scrolled up the message, she was shocked to see how many messages they have exchanged before. Some messages were sent late at night too. 

' Is she the same girl, Jia Fei?' she wondered. Last time, she took the number, and today she finally decided to call and find out about the girl. When she called her, she found that she was none other than Jia Fei. 

Without wasting any other moment, she invited her over the place as she wanted to clear the things before they could get any messier. 

She needs to see what kind of girl her son is dating. More than that, if she is fit to become part of their family or not.

After Jia Fei calmed down, Yuhan looked at his mother, " Mom, what stunt are you trying to pull here? We're just friends, what's the meaning of all this?"

" How can you call her without me knowing and tell her to come over? And what's with this stupid question?" he shouted in rage. 

Seeing Yuhan getting worked up, Jia Fei placed a hand over him to calm him down. And it did work. He stopped speaking and looked away in frustration to calm down to avoid the worst situation. 

Yao Zixian frowned and gritted her teeth seeing Jia Fei's hand on Yuhan's hand. He never shouts at her, but he is going against her, that too for this girl. 

She clenches her fists, " What am I doing? Didn't you introduce her as your girlfriend on your last blind date? How can you humiliate me in front of others?"

" Also, seeing how she knows the address of your place, I assume she has already gone there. Yuhan, tell me honestly, is this why you moved out of the house? To do whatever you want?"

" Did you also break up with Xingren because of this girl? I doubt that it was because of Xingren's scandal as you never cared about our business connection before either. Are you dating this girl? Huh?" She asked him coldly. 

" Yuhan, I have never stopped you from doing anything. You can date anyone you want, but not someone like her."

" MOM!!" Yuhan shouted in irritation. How can she even say something as embarrassing as this? 

"....."

Jia Fei was baffled seeing the situation going in another direction. She was talking to her politely a moment ago, what changed now? Was she trying to test the water with her earlier? 

But more than that, the way she talked about her made her feel annoyed. Girl like her? What kind of girl is she?

" What's wrong with me? Why can't he date 'someone' like me?" Jia Fei asked in a monotonous tone, surprising everyone with her straightforward question.
