Chapter 398 - THE PARCEL

" Mr. Guo, please take a seat. Have you thought over my offer?" Xu Nuan asked as she gestured to Guo Hong to take a seat in front of her. 

The man who was looking around the small office of Xu Nuan, glanced at her and answered, " You're getting right on with the work? Well, I am not even surprised." He chuckled as he took a seat opposite her. 

After working on The Knights' debut song with Xu Nuan, it was his first time seeing her. It feels like yesterday when she knocked on his apartment's door and introduced herself as the manager of the group, who hasn't even made a debut yet. 

She wanted him, the man who has only worked with 'The Queens' and other veteran artists of the industry, to work on an unknown group's debut song. His usual self would have rejected her right away but her knowledge and interest in music amazed him. 

It's rare for anyone to know this much about music without having a musical background. Her style was so much similar to Jiang Yue with whom he used to sit for hours in the studio and work on making music with her. Jiang Yue was not only an idol who only sang and danced but was very much talented in composing and producing songs too. 

That was one of the reasons why she was worshiped in the music world. Not just an idol but as an artist who is capable of doing anything and is full of talents. 

The man leaned back on the chair comfortably and played with the spherical-glass paperweight on the table, " Ms, Xu, You have become quite bold after becoming the CEO of this new company of yours." He commented. 

" From working on the debut song of The knights, now you want to hire me to work as the music producer for your company? Aren't you being too greedy about it?" The man asked. 

Everyone knows that after leaving QY entertainment after Jiang Yue's death, he has never joined another company and has been working independently as he doesn't want to work in terms of someone else. To make good music, he needs the creative freedom that he cannot get in under any company. 

Xu Nuan stared at him and smiled as she was expecting such a question from him.  He is prideful, as always." Mr. Guo, If I remember correctly, you agreed to work with me when I had nothing to offer you, other than four talented artists and 5% of the profit from their debut song." 

" This time too, I have nothing to offer other than the same-yet popular and talented four artists to you. The salary might be low considering your skills and experience in the industry. However, I am sure, you would not like to lose the chance to work with such talented girls either."

" And be assured, as I will never interfere with the way you work. However, I am allowed to state my opinion, right?" She asked carefully, making him chuckle at her confident words. 

Even though the money she was offering to him was low considering how much he charges to other artists, the girl's talent and honey-like vocals are enough to tempt him.

Because she knows him well enough. 

Rather than money, he will be more interested in talent and heavenly vocals. And after The Queens, only The Knights are capable enough to make him work hard like before.

Just how The Knights need him to make blockbuster music, he needs their mellow voices to execute his music as it is as well.

" Hah! Are you sure you called me here to poach me or were trying to show off your girls to me? Hmm?" He asked. 

" So…did my method work?" She raised her brows in anticipation as she waited for his response.

He chuckled and reached out to have a handshake with her, " Do I have an option to reject this offer?" 

Xu Nuan smiled and shook hands with him, "Definitely not."

Grandfather Jiang was sitting in his office and was going through the files that his secretary had handed to him a while ago. His eyes widened upon reading the contents of it and immediately called him to his office. 

" Chairman, Do you need anything?" The Secretary asked politely. 

The old man furrowed his brows and pursed his lips, " Close the door first." 

The secretary nodded as he understood his words and went to lock the doors from inside. After making sure that no one was peeping on them from outside, he returned and stood in front of his desk. 

The old man drew a heavy breath as he threw the papers in front of him and asked, " Is this all true? Are all people really on Jiang Ru's side now?

" Are you sure about this information?"

In the file, it was the list of people with whom Jiang Ru has been meeting in the past year and was making connections with them. And those people were none other than the major board members of the company. 

If she managed to earn their loyalty and they decided to support them with their shares in the company, then no one can stop Jiang Ru from taking over the company. Even his vote will not matter anymore if she managed to gather more shares than him. 

And what was shocking was, she had been planning all of this for a long time. 

The secretary looked at the papers and nodded, " Yes. In the past year, while managing the company, Managing Director Jiang Ru and CEO Jiang Yahui have been in close contact with the board members, close enough to even attend their private parties and have meals with them frequently." 

" Not only that, after your return to the company, she seems to be panicking and I am afraid that she will take a drastic step soon enough." He expressed his worry about this matter. 

Grandfather Jiang pursed his lips in a thin line and thought over this matter. If Gu De was telling him that this matter seems to be serious, there must be a reason for it. As he never speaks anything without any reason and if he is saying that Jiang Ru might do something soon enough, he must have a reason behind it too. 

He clenched his fists in rage and slammed the table in frustration. " This girl doesn't know where to stop."

" You….Did you do what I asked you to do earlier?" The old man looked up at his secretary and smiled when he nodded. 

" The parcel has been sent already. It will reach the target soon enough." The secretary answered in a low voice. 

" Make sure no one finds out about this. If anyone finds out about it, Jiang….Xu Nuan and the company, both will be in danger once again." The old man sighs heavily. 

He never expected Jiang Ru to be this sly. 

Just where did he go wrong in leading this family? How can they be so shameless and thick-skinned to be after each other's blood for the sake of money and fame?
