Chapter 155 - Did I do anything wrong?

Xu Nuan was sitting in her office while Song Ai and Sun Ya were sitting on chairs opposite to hers while Pan Lan and Lai Yi were standing behind them in the same cramped space and everyone was staring at their phones in anticipation. It's the day that they were awaiting the most, the day when the MV of their song was going to be released on ytube. 

It's already 5:45 pm and the MV is going to be released in 15 minutes and this waiting time was killing them. 

" Argh...I can't watch it. I am so scared. What if people don't like us? What if they think that our music is no good?" Song Ai said nervously while biting her nails. 

Pan Lan held her wrist and said while shaking her head in helplessness, " Stop biting your nails. You're not even a kid anymore. Also, you're the leader, how can you be so negative?" she scolded her at which Song Ai pouted and hit her lightly with a fist. 

" Guys, don't worry. Everything will be fine." Sun Ya said while trying to comfort everyone. However, her hands were trembling from nervousness at which Pan Lan couldn't help but chuckle. 

" You need to calm down first," she commented at which Sun Ya glared at her. 

It's not only their debut song but if it didn't go well and didn't manage to fulfill the expectations of the company, then they will be disbanded next year and it will become their first and last song as a group since they have a one-year contract only. 

They wouldn't have got to debut if not for Xu Nuan who has fought single-handedly with everyone and even managed to get permission from the headquarters for their debut. They can't let her down and be humiliated by everyone. 

Xu Nuan was not listening to them and was just staring at her phone in worry. The time was ticking, making the insides of her stomach churn in nervousness. She has never been so nervous when her songs were about to be released that she was being right now. 

This time she was releasing a song not as an artist or composer but as an artist manager. Although her name won't be on the credits, however, she has a sense of responsibility attached to it since she not only helped the girls in perfecting this song but it was her first time working as a manager.

" Ah, It's here," Sun Ya shouted when the video was released on the site. Everyone played the video at the same time and watched their final workpiece. Although they have listened to this song over 100 times, it always sounds new and different as ever. 

Xu Nuan pursed her lips and smiled proudly while watching the video, not only because it was well shot and directed but how the girls acted and their close up shots was amazing for a newbie. Lai Yi, who always looks serious and has a laid back personality, surprised her the most. In her close-up shots, her arrogant look and smirk made her stare at her in awe. 

She has a charming personality while performing and it's different when she is with them or off-camera. She is indeed an artist who is made to shine on the stage.

Xu Nuan pursed her lips and remembered the bet she had made with Wang Meili the other day. If their song didn't manage to get into the top 50 then she not only has to apologize to Wang Meili but also leave the company. She hasn't told the girls about the bet because she doesn't want them to worry about it but she was nervous about it as well. She doesn't want to let down the girls and wants their future to be affected in any way. 

She took a deep breath, ' Everything will be fine. We can get our anticipated ranking. Yes, we can do it.' she repeated in her mind and tried to not think about the results.

After the music video was released, Xu Nuan left the office and took the subway on the way back home. It was 8 pm by the time she reached and saw the elevator door closing, " Ah, Wait. Please hold it." she shouted and the person standing inside stopped the door from closing and she hurriedly ran over and got into the elevator. 

While panting she thanked the person, " Thank you so-"

However, when she saw that it was Han Zihao in the elevator, she couldn't help but frown. They haven't seen each other for days nor have contacted each other since they came back from his place. 

She was angry at him for comparing her to the monkey but she had thought that he would at least try to talk to her and make some efforts to calm her down but shockingly, he didn't say anything. He went to his work like he normally does, there was no exchange of text messages between them and she felt that it was only her who keeps pushing things in their relationship. This made her even more annoyed and angry at him.

He didn't even try to talk to her like she does all the time. She couldn't help but feel awkward seeing him in the elevator.

Han Zihao who was standing behind her glanced at her and saw that she was wearing only a full sleeves dress and a cardigan. The weather is so cold and despite knowing that her body is weak and tends to get sick easily, she didn't wear enough thick clothes. 

It's been a few days since he hasn't seen her and it made him hesitant to speak to her. At first, he thought that she was angry and would get better after some days, but she never calmed down and contacted him.

Whenever he gets angry, he prefers to be alone and that's why he was not disturbing her but tomorrow is the day that they had decided to go on a date, and here they were not even on talking terms. 

The elevator stopped at their floor and Xu Nuan stepped out of the elevator when the door opened. She didn't even look at him and directly went to her unit to punch the passcode on the door. 

She had to muster the courage to ignore his existence and walk out just like that. However, she couldn't help but feel frustrated at the thought that it was only her who was thinking that they have a future together even though they are not official yet.

But his actions made her realize that it was only her wishful thinking. Maybe he isn't over her past self yet and he isn't ready to accept her as a partner. Although she is Jiang Yue, however, since she is in Xu Nuan's body she wants him to accept her as she is and not as Jiang Yue. 

Jiang Yue was an amazing woman in his memory who remained as his unrequited love but she wants to be his reality, his present. But if he doesn't want to give her that space in his heart, then she is not that clingy to stick over him and keep forcing him to make things work. 

No relationship can work with only one person's efforts. It is a relationship because two people are involved and they both need to make efforts to make it work. And his ignorance made her feel as if she was the only one who is involved in this relationship. 

" Wait."

The door unlocked and just as she was about to step inside the house, she heard Han Zihao calling her from behind. Her body froze on the spot and she paused in her actions unknowingly. 

She pursed her lips and waited for him to say anything. She didn't turn around to face him and just waited for him to continue. She also wanted to see what he has to say and she was ready to enter the house and not talk to him if he said any nonsense this time.
