Chapter 240 - A Cheater!!

The next day, 

" Ah, why is this campus so vast? I am already tired." Xu Nuan panted as she tried to walk faster towards the classroom. 

She was already 15 minutes late for her morning class and walking up to the classroom will take at least 10 minutes if she tries to walk fast. 

Upon reaching her destination, she took a deep breath to calm down her racing heart. After catching her breath, she apologized to the professor and entered the classroom. 

She raised her brows upon noticing the way everyone was staring at her. Maybe it was because she topped the exams, she still garners the attention from everyone and they all seem to quiet down whenever she passes through. 

'Why are they glaring at me as if I killed someone? I was just a bit late?' she frowned, feeling bothered by their constant stare. 

It was as if they were like her 24/7 CCTV cameras, their eyes were not leaving her alone even for a moment. 

She is someone who has experienced immense attention in her past life. From the paparazzi to her fans to an anti, everyone was interested in her life and lectured her on every small mistake as if they were her parents. 

Being famous is not a child's play. The fans who loved you with all their hearts, are potentially capable of becoming your number one hater. 

Even though she was trying to focus on her books, she could feel people glancing towards her and was whispering something between them. 

She looked at Xingren, who was sitting at the desk in front of her and was focusing on the lecture. 

' Am I thinking too much?' she wondered. 

Ye Yijun ( Aurora), who was sitting next to her, pursed his lips seeing her looking around, leaned in and whispered in her ears,  " You...why didn't you come to the college yesterday?" 

She turned to him and said in a low voice, " Ah, I had some important work. Why? Did the Professor say something? Or….by any chance...did you miss me?" She teased him, however like usual, he didn't look fl.u.s.tered and stared at her indifferently. 

Why isn't he responding to her jokes? How boring! 

As she turned to look at the board, she heard him say in a low voice, " Did you see that post on- 

" Who's talking in the class? Is this a class or a garden?" However, before he could complete his words, the Professor turned around and slammed the duster on the table, making them shut their mouths.

" The last date of the submission of the assignment is in two weeks. Don't be late otherwise-" 

The professor left the class after giving them a warning to everyone to submit their assignments on time. Xu Nuan sighed heavily as the hour-long class which felt like ages finally came to an end. 

Assignments and exams are like a never ending saga for a student. 

She closed her books and turned to Ye Yijun with a gleeful smile and asked, " So, what were you saying earlier? What post?"

However, before he could say anything, a girl walked to her. " You, so you're the one who topped the scholarship exam?"

Xu Nuan turned back and looked at the girl, who came out of nowhere to seek attention from her. 

The girl was wearing a sleeveless black LBD dress and was wearing her slightly curled hair down and looked at her from head to toe, as if checking her out. 

The girl scoffed at Xu Nuan's poor dressing sense. She was wearing baggy blue pants with a casual, loose navy blue t shirt, tucked into the pants.

" Why aren't you saying anything? Don't tell me that you don't know me? Because I am sure, there is no one in the class that doesn't know who I am?" the girl said with a proud smirk. 

Xu Nuan noticed the way the girl was checking her out and could sense the hostility from her. 

" Shouldn't you introduce yourself if you come to talk to me? Why do you think that I might know you already?" She asked with a straight face, making the girl frown. 

" You…" The girl gritted her teeth in anger but soon chuckled looking at her face, "Hah, You have some guts, huh? Do you think you're popular just because you passed the scholarship exam?" 

The girl folded her hands in front of her c.h.e.s.t and said, "How can I forget that? Of course, you have some guts. Otherwise, you wouldn't have cheated in the exam."  She said, emphasising the last word. 

" You feel happy after getting the scholarship, right? But...what to do? This happiness will not stay for long. Because we won't let a cheater like you stay in our college and destroy the reputation of Xin Liu." 

Xu Nuan looked at the girl in puzzlement, not understanding what her problem was. No one said anything to her when she came to the college, then what happened suddenly.

" Xia Ah, Stop it. Don't talk nonsense." Ye Yijun glanced at Xu Nuan and seeing her clueless, he interjected. 

The girl looked at him and said, " Aurora, why are you taking a cheater's side? Didn't you see how she made her way into college?" 

" This was the same girl who beat you in the game, using her cheap tricks."

" Hah, she couldn't play fair in the game, what can we expect her to do in the exam?" The girl scoffed.

The people gathered around them and everyone was staring at Xu Nuan and were nodding at the girl's words. 

Xu Nuan, who was trying to register what's going on, noticed that Xingren has't left the class yet and was sitting on her seat, listening to everything. 

Since she didn't turn around Xu Nuan couldn't see her expressions, but she could feel that something was not right. 

~SLAM~

Xu Nuan couldn't bother to listen to any more nonsense and stood up from the seat, slamming the desk loudly. 

The girl was startled seeing Xu Nuan's cold expressions and stepped back unconsciously. 

" What? What? Do you think we're afraid of you?" 

Xu Nuan chuckled and walked closer to the girl, who was trying to move back but couldn't move because of the people standing behind her. 

She looked into the girl's eyes, making her look at her nervously and asked coldly, " If you're coming to pick a fight with me, then at least speak clearly."

" Why do you think I cheated in the exam? Huh? Because of that game? I never thought that students, who have high grades have such a low sense of rationality." 

The girl frowned, but before she could say anything, the other girl jumped in, " Everyone knows that you're a cheater. You even left the examination hall way early before the exam could end. How can that be possible if you didn't know the questions earlier or you know that even if you leave the paper blank, you will get the scholarship."

The other people also started commenting. " Everyone knows that you're supported by a sugar daddy. Hah, what can we expect from a girl who cheated in the exam and stole her sister's well-earned position?"

" Disgusting!! Xingren was supposed to win the scholarship, but unlike a hardworking student like her, this cheater got it by using her cheap tricks. I feel ashamed to claim her as the student of Xin Liu." 

" I can't imagine how heartbroken Xingren would be. Her family gave shelter and clothing to this snake and she stabbed her in the back. No doubt, she doesn't socialize with everyone like before." 

"Ah, I feel so bad for Xingren. She is such a nice girl, even despite that, she never said anything to anyone."

One by one, everyone started to speak trash about Xu Nuan aloud. They looked at Xu Nuan with a hateful and disgusted gaze. 

Xu Nuan frowned and glanced at Xingren. Seeing how she isn't even moving, she was sure that it was her behind this whole drama. 

Ye Yijun gritted his teeth and said, " You guys are being ridiculous. On the basis of one post, you're jumping onto the conclusions. There wasn't any strong evidence. How can you say she cheated in the exam?"

The students paused and were surprised at Ye Yijun supporting the girl. She was the most popular one in the class and him supporting her, was making them waver a bit. 

However, him supporting her doesn't mean that she is innocent. 

The post was itself evidence for them. 

Xu Nuan, who was listening to all of it, turned to him and said, " You were talking about some post, right? What is it?"

He hesitated but pulled out his phone to show her the post that he was talking about. 

He opened the college forum and showed her the anonymous post which had been posted on the forum yesterday. 

Since she didn't come to the college yesterday and couldn't clear the post, the rumors spread in the campus like a wildfire. Even, he didn't come to the college yesterday, when he found out about all of this this morning, he was surprised too and didn't know how to react to this. 

Xu Nuan took a deep breath before taking his phone. There was an anonymous post on the college forum and she could tell at one glance that it was about her. 

After all, the title of the post was, ' Xin Liu's Scholarship Exam Topper, is a Cheater?'
