83 She Had A Boyfriend After All

After bidding a farewell to Xui Li's family, both of them went inside the car and he drove out from his father building.

All along the way, Xue Mei is a bit distracted and she remains silent. "Xue Mei...What's wrong?" Xui Li asks.

"Nothing." She replies it short.

"No, I can see there's something that makes you..sulking?" He tries to guess.

"No..I'm not." She said, denied it.

"Okay..but, before we go back. I wanna bring you to this place. Are you okay with that?" He asks.

"Hmm." She nods her head and diverts her eyes to the outside of the window.

10 minute later, they arrive at one of the private gardens.

"We've arrived. Let's go." Xui Li unbuckle his seat belt and open the car door.

Xue Mei also does the same. She follows Xui Li and looks at the garden gazebo in front of them.

"What are we doing here?" She asks curiously.

The gazebo looks very pretty with the small tree and flower around the gazebo and they had a lantern that makes the place lighten up and a bit romantic.

"Okay...I know why you pouted. That's because you can't dance, right?" He took out his phone and search for slow music that he record it.

"Of course I can't dance. I'm not from your circle anyway." she crossing her arm on her chest.

"But, you can learn. If you marry Ren, you still need to dance." He turns on the music and went to her. He extended his hand to her.

"I'll teach you how."

She feels a bit hesitant, but she still takes his hand anyway. "We do a simple dance, just follow my lead." He put her hand on his shoulder and he holds another one.

With slow music fill the air, they start to dance. Of course, it's not beautiful and perfect, but they had fun. Learning dance with him even though it just a simple dance. At least she satisfied and he successfully pacifies her.

Cough cough.

Ha Eun sit up weakly. She tries to reach the glass on the side table. After treatment, she often feels a bit dry in her throat. That makes her feel a bit uncomfortable.

"Here." Ren takes the glass and gives it to her.

"Thanks." She gulps the water in the glass before she put it back on the table.

"Are you cold?" He asks and put more comforter to cover her body.

"Erm..this is just nice." She said and smile at him.

"Do you need anything?"

"No. Ren..is it really okay for you to keep me accompany here? Is Xue Mei really okay with this?" She asks worriedly. She is grateful that Ren can be relied on and always be by her side. Just like what he promise to Dr. Hazel last time.

Stroke her hair gently, he said "It's okay. I will tell her when it's time."

Take his hand from her head, she says again "But Ren, I don't want you to have any problem with your relationship later. She's a nice girl, Ren."

"Okay. I get it. I call her tomorrow and I may be a bit late to see you."

"That's okay." She smiles at him.

The next morning,

Ren comes to Xue Mei's room from the window again. Once he enters the room he saw that Xue Mei still lying on the bed.

"Hey babe, morning." He greets her and caresses her cheek. Once he touches her skin, he could feel that she's burning up.

"Ngh.." She turns her body on the other side.

"Babe, did you caught a fever?" He tries to touches her forehead and the same as the cheek, it's hot.

"Mm.." She slowly opens her eyes. Her head feels dizzy and she tries to sit up.

"Ren?"

"Don't move too much, what did you do yesterday?" He asks worriedly.

"Erm, I return a bit late yesterday. I went out with Xui Li." She tries to stand up, wants to find her towel.

"Xui LI? Where did you guys go? And why didn't you tell me?"

"I did try to contact you, but your phone was off. It is me who supposed to ask you, where have you been these few months?"

"I..I've told you I had to take care of something."

"Like what?"

"My family.."

"Oh, I met with your mother yesterday." She interjects him.

"You what? How can you meet with my mother?" He stands up and facing her.

"In a party. I went to Feng Corp yesterday. And there I met with your mother and Ying Yue too." She says while holding her head, dizzy.

"Babe, you go there and not even telling me. And most surprised me is you go with another man!"

"Ah!.." She scoffs a bit.

"Seriously, Ren? I told you before. I did try to tell you, but your phone was off! You know if you a little bit care for me, I wouldn't even go with another man!" She staggered a bit before she holds on the chair.

"Please..just go. I need a rest."

"Go and shower up, I bring you to the clinic after this." Ren lowered his voice and sit back on her bed.

She did not reply to him, she continues to go to take a bath at Risa's room.

Once she was out from her room, Ren Zhi went to Xui Li room. Knock on the door, Xui Li open it after a few moments.

"Yes?" He said once he saw Ren in front of his room.

"Xui Li, why did you bring Xue Mei to your family's party?" He asks straightaway.

"Oh? You've heard?" He crosses his arm around his chest.

"Because your careless action, she got a fever. And Xui Li, I need to straight this matter to you. I know you treat her like your sister, but don't get too close to her. She's mine and you know it too." He warns Xui Li.

Scrunch his eyebrow, he asks. "She got a fever?"

"No need to worry, I'll take care of it. She had a boyfriend after all." He said and leave to Xue Mei room again leaving Xui Li dumbfounded a moment.

After a few minutes, Xue Mei returns to her room while drying her hair with a towel. She still felt a bit uncomfortable and a bit dizzy. Once she opens her bedroom, she saw Ren was still in her room. She thought that he already go back to his room.

"Why are you still here?"

"Hurry up, I get the car. Meet me at the gate in 5 minutes." He said and return back to his dorm.

Pinch her forehead a little, she did not have a choice anymore. She changes her clothes and takes her sling bag after she brushes her hair.

When he wants to close her door, Xui Li opens up his door and look at her.

"Xue Mei, are you okay? Ren Said that you caught a fever." He asks worriedly.

"Yeah..don't worry. Just a slight fever." She smiles at him.

Went to her, he caresses her cheek and says "I'm sorry I cause you caught a fever."

"Relax...It just a mere fever. See you, bye." She holds his hand for a moment before she went downstairs in a hurry.
