“How should I proceed from now on?”
Jiang Yi returned to his own pavilion as he sat inside his room, at a loss. He had utterly lost sight of his direction. It was the first time he had felt so helpless and at a loss.
Everyone in the Stellarsky Domain was waiting for him to save them, with the Netherworld Realm holding a saber that was hovering above the Stellarsky Domain. It could come cleaving down anytime, destroying the entire Stellarsky Domain. The Mystic Thearch was in the Ten Thousand Saints Domain while Yi Piaopiao was still trapped beneath a divine mountain. Even Jiang Xiaonu had been separated from him and was probably facing untold trials and tribulations. However, Jiang Yi was stuck in this small Divine Eagle Tribe and could not do anything; he could not even take a step out of this tribe.
Bang!
He ferociously smashed a fist into the wall. The restrictions lit up as that force rebounded, and a splitting pain surged from his arm. Jiang Yi closed his eyes and let out a deep breath. He laid on his bed and slept, not thinking about anything.
A heavy pressure was weighing on him; his body and soul spirit were extremely tired.
After sleeping for fourteen to sixteen hours, Jiang Yi groggily woke up. This time, he realized that his spirits were a lot better. He was naturally an optimistic person that could make himself feel better. He did not think about much as he sat cross-legged and started to refine the flames and cultivate his heavenly powers at the same time.
Strength!
Jiang Yi finally understood that regardless of whether it was the Lower Domain or Higher Domain, strength was the crux to everything. Without strength, it was hard to advance; and he would be in danger at all times. The amount of merged flames he had was too little; it could not even congeal a flaming divine shield. His heavenly powers were also not sufficient. Since he could not leave this place in the near future, he might as well not think about anything and cultivate first.
Buzz!
After cultivating for a while, Jiang Yi suddenly thought about something. His ring lit up as silver battle armor and another ring appeared in his hands. These were the spoils from killing Luo Huan. This divine artifact battle armor could resist the merged flames; it should be a medial-grade divine artifact. Jiang Yi naturally wanted to refine this treasure for his own use.
Tsk! Tsk!
Jiang Yi did not hurry to refine the battle armor. He used his heavenly powers on Luo Huan’s ring. He wanted to see if there was anything good inside. Since Luo Huan had died, there was no spiritual imprint on the ring anymore. If not, the ring would not have left Luo Huan either. Jiang Yi easily refined the ring and focused his thoughts on entering it. However, he was utterly disappointed.
There were not many items inside, though there were more than a thousand divine roots inside. It was probably the remnants from what Luo Huan had lost on gambling. If not, Luo Huan would not have left so early this time.
There were a few beautiful weapons and armor. However, they were all inferior-grade items; good to look at but useless. Luo Huan probably knew that his battle strength was sub-par and had decided not to get his hands on some good items. There were also some delicacies and alcohol inside, as well as a few hundred pieces of fine clothing.
“What is this?”
Jiang Yi’s heart shook as he found a book that was already turning yellow, and he hurriedly retrieved it. He held it in his palm. Jiang Yi immediately felt that it was not something ordinary. The book was made by some beast’s skin, and it felt very unique. The book also seemed to be very old.
“What is this thing?”
Jiang Yi flipped a few pages. However, he could not understand the words on it at all. There were only ten pages to this booklet, but it was filled with tens of thousands of small words. However, they were crooked and slanted; Jiang Yi had never seen characters like this before. He could only stare at the book blankly.
“I will refine the divine artifact battle armor first. Then, when I have the chance, I will go to the Demon-Killing Pavilion to check this book out.”
Jiang Yi flipped through the book for a while, tossed it back into the ring, and started to refine the medial-grade divine artifact battle armor. With this battle armor, Jiang Yi’s defenses would be greatly improved. When he had more merged flames and could congeal a flaming divine shield, his defensive abilities would be raised even higher.
…
The Black Deity had been in seclusion all this while. He Wei had come to find Jiang Yi once. Seeing that Jiang Yi was in seclusion, He Wei went to take on missions on his own; he needed to become a Demon-Killing Battle General before he could follow Commander He to Divine Fox City.
Commander He had already left. After all, he was the number one commander under the Divine Fox City Demon-Killing Pavilion Lord’s command and had many things to attend to. He had come to talk to Commander Liu and build up a rapport. Commander Liu had also promised to take good care of He Wei; Commander He had no reason to remain here any longer.
With Commander Liu’s guidance and care, the missions that He Wei received were all relatively easy. They mainly made him follow a small troop of Demon-Killing soldiers to battle, for him to gain some experience and battle merits. Of course… some of these missions were just to give He Wei battle merits freely.
Jiang Yi had cultivated for a whole day and finally refined the divine artifact. The number of Merged Flames inside his ninth star sphere was growing steadily, and he could easily congeal a flaming divine shield if he wanted… though he wasn’t sure how strong that shield would be. However, with this battle armor and the Merged Flames, Jiang Yi should be able to easily take care of Heaven-God-level martial artists.
A day on the Higher Domain was a hundred days in the Lower Domain. The Luo Huan incident had also steadily died down. The Battle God Pavilion Luo Clan did not take any action, and both the Divine Eagle City and the Divine Eagle Tribe were very peaceful. Probably the only ones that still cared about Jiang Yi were the people who had placed bets on him.
Jiang Yi was very bitter; he could not receive any missions. Since he refused to submit to Sister Mei, she always gave out all the missions within the Divine Eagle Tribe before he went to look for her. He could receive missions; they were—however—all outside.
Jiang Yi actually wanted to exit the city. However, the problem was that no one was willing to take on missions with him!
No one wanted to die; being together with Jiang Yi would increase the odds of being killed accidentally. Heading out alone? That was akin to courting one’s death. Only a few missions could be done solo. However, the distance was too far. Furthermore, missions with fewer than ten men would not be provided with Divine Boats. If Jiang Yi decided to walk, it would take a few days. If he went on such a long journey, he would probably not make it back.
After returning once again empty-handed from the Mission Office where Sister Mei was on shift, Jiang Yi did not head back to his pavilion. He halted in the great hall for a moment as his eyes shifted, and he entered the Mystical Abilities Pavilion. He had more than two thousand battle merits now. Since these battle merits would not be much use until they hit ten thousand—instead of keeping them, Jiang Yi might as well see if there was anything that could boost his strength.
After walking a few rounds within the Mystical Abilities Pavilion and looking at countless mystical abilities and secret arts, Jiang Yi realized that with the limited amount of battle merits he had, it was impossible to exchange for a high-level mystical ability while he had no use for the low-level ones. Jiang Yi paused and then retrieved the book that he could not fathom that he had gotten from Luo Huan. He took out some paper and copied a few words and hurriedly went to the Library Pavilion to find books that had the same script. Jiang Yi wanted to find out what script these words were from.
The Library Pavilion’s books could be freely perused. However, in this world where might was right, there were not many people who were cultured and scholarly. Only young masters and young mistresses from prestigious families would know how to read and make poetry for leisure. Hence, the Library Pavilion was not well-maintained and rather empty. An elder was dozing off inside. When Jiang Yi entered, the elder opened his eyes for a while and then continued to doze.
There were many books; there were hundreds of thousands of them. They were very well organized. Jiang Yi started his search and soon found specialized books that introduced the different types of script. Jiang Yi seriously perused and found a match.
There were too many domains in the Higher Domain; many of them had unique and special races that have their own culture and script. The huge tome that Jiang Yi held on to recorded millions of types of unique scripts.
After searching for fourteen to sixteen hours, Jiang Yi finally found out where this script originated from. This was the script of a great race from the Heaven Domain during the Primordial Age. As for what a Primordial Age was, Jiang Yi did not know. He matched the first few hundred words on the book with the tome, but he was extremely disappointed!
“Mighty God Technique is the specialized mystical ability for the Might God Race. Other races cannot cultivate… damn, this took me sixteen hours!”
Jiang Yi tossed the booklet back into the ring, speechless. This Mighty God Technique was the special cultivation technique of a unique race. It was just like the Ink Feather Divine Art; if he wasn’t from that race, he could not cultivate it. No wonder such a powerful mystic art could have landed in the hands of an imbecile like Luo Huan. If it could be cultivated, it would long have been passed to the Battle God Pavilion Luo Clan.
