Chapter 1455: We Meet Again!

In fact, Jiang Yi was misunderstood!

The tournament was not to take place on the Saint Spirit Mountain. Instead, it was to take place at the base of the Saint Spirit Mountain. Of course, it was not at the city plaza from which Jiang Yi and company teleported to the top; it was to be held at the Battle Arena in the north. This Battle Arena was specially built for the Ten Thousand Domain Tournament that was held once every ten years!

The Netherworld Realm’s Army’s Clean-Sweeping Hurricane in the Heaven Domain allowed them to take over most of the domains there. There was only one pitiful domain left hanging by a thread. Although the Netherworld Realm’s Army had not made any moves to invade the Earth Domain—if the Heaven Domain collapsed, the Earth Domain would be finished for sure.

One aim of the Ten Thousand Domain Tournament was to encourage the talents of Earth Domain to keep training hard, so that they could become formidable martial artists themselves. Another aim of the tournament was to gather the power of the entire Earth Domain, so that the elite of the Earth Domain would be able to unite and—one day—cross over to the Heaven Domain to join in the fight against the Netherworld Realm.

The Battle Arena was huge. It was built atop a mountainous region and measured thirty kilometers in radius. Every inch of it was carved out of white jade. There were light rays on top of the white jade, indicating restrictions. There were also spectator’s stands built all around the arena. When Jiang Yi and the others arrived, three faces of the spectator’s stands were already filled. These were all either the Saint Spirit Domain’s formidable martial artists from various prefectures or the young disciples of the various great family clans. They had come early to get a good seat so that they would be able to observe the battles.

The seats in the north were more elegant. They were even split into several booths. It was obvious that these were meant for the important people of the Earth Domain and the young talents from the various domains.

Swish, swish, swish, swish!

One by one, divine boats cut across the sky and parked atop the Battle Arena. Then, they disappeared. Groups of formidable martial artists and talents from the various domains appeared, flying straight towards the booths in the north. The Phantom Race’s formidable martial artists received these groups one by one and led them to their respective booths to take their seats.

“The Battle Arena is so huge!”

Jiang Yi and company sat in a divine boat which went around the Saint Spirit Mountain to a city plaza. This was the first time Di Ling’er was participating in a tournament so she was especially excited. Her huge eyes were darting around nonstop. When her gaze finally landed on the four sides of the Battle Arena, her expression suddenly turned to shock. “What is that?”

Jiang Yi remained silent on the divine boat. He even looked slightly listless. However, when he heard Di Ling’er’s shocked voice, he turned to look. His own eyes widened as well because four round pillars appeared on the four corners of the Battle Arena. On top of each of these round pillars sat a huge beast. From afar, they looked like statues. However, those nearby could tell that these were—in fact—real Chaos Beasts.

“These are the Four Divine Beast Guardians of the Saint Spirit Domain!”

Mo Lingqiu explained, “The previous Clan King of the Phantom Race had a good grasp on a Beast-Taming mystical ability. He managed to tame four ten-million-year-old, Primordial-Grade Chaos Beasts as the spirit beasts that guard the mountain. It was a pity that the previous Phantom King died in the Heaven Domain unexpectedly. That was why he failed to hand down the mystical ability. Now, no one else has such a mystical ability. These four divine beasts have been in a deep sleep ever since their owner died in battle…”

“Ten-million-year-old Primordial-Grade Chaos Beasts?”

Jiang Yi and company’s eyes widened in shock. Someone was actually able to tame ten-million-year-old Primordial-Grade Chaos Beasts?

This type of Chaos Beasts was undefeatable. With four such divine beasts at the base of the Saint Spirit Mountain—if any enemy dared to invade them, these four divine beasts alone would be akin to a defense of a million-strong army.

The good thing was that these four divine beasts were still in deep sleep. Their bestial aura was not considered too strong. Jiang Yi and company stole several glances at them and then did not pay much attention to them any longer. Instead, they turned to the elegant booths in the north.

There were nine levels of such elegant booths. Right on top were eighteen elegant booths. They were placed on the pedestal, much like Sovereigns. In the row below them were one thousand more elegant booths. Mo Lingqiu waited for the divine boat to arrive at the city plaza before he instructed in a low voice, “I am a judge in this Ten Thousand Domain Tournament. Huaisang, you all can go to the elegant booths below to sit down. Only move once I send a voice transmission to you, telling you to do so!”

Once he finished speaking, he turned to face Jiang Yi and sent a voice transmission in an extremely strict tone: “Jiang Yi, you have to take my orders no matter what. If you do anything rash, I can only knock you out and send you into my interspatial ring as per the Sovereign’s orders.”

“Don’t worry, Lord Mo…”

Jiang Yi smiled bitterly. Do anything rash? How could he?

Even if he put his life on the line, he would not be able to steal even a glance at Yi Piaopiao, much less save her life. He knew full well that given the Phantom King’s temper—if he dared to do anything foolish, he would only be making Yi Piaopiao’s life harder.

Mo Lingqiu nodded and led the group of them out of the divine boat, towards the north. Mo Lingqiu flew to the elegant booths on the highest level by himself while Jiang Yi and the rest followed a Phantom Race’s formidable martial artist to the elegant booth in the middle of the second level. The booth was not big. There were only ten seats. They could even activate the restrictions around the booth, so that they could still see outside; but the people outside would not be able to look in.

Mo Huaisang led the group into the booth, and she sat down in the first seat on the left. Xuanyuan Wudi, Qin Huan, and Jiutian Wen sat around her. Jiang Yi self-consciously sat on the right side. Di Ling’er mumbled to herself for some time and finally decided to sit beside Jiang Yi.

A maidservant brought them aromatic tea. Outside, divine boats continuously landed. The tournament was called the Ten Thousand Domain Tournament, but Jiang Yi guessed that less than ten thousand domains were taking part. At the very most, there were only more than a thousand domains represented here. He guessed that many smaller domains probably did not have monster talents and decided not to send anyone here to avoid embarrassing themselves.

In the east, the bright sun rose to the top of the sky, coloring the entire sky red. The snow-white, jade city plaza reflected this red light, causing the four divine beasts to release terrifying beast aura, which spread outwards into the surroundings. A distance away in the south, the Saint Spirit Mountain seemed to stretch right into the sky. The scene was exceptionally moving.

One by one, the divine boats cut through the air. Groups of elegantly-dressed young masters and young mistresses descended. The men were handsome, and the women were beautiful. All of them looked very magnificent. The elegant booths in the north remained still, but the spectator’s stands on the other three sides were exceptionally noisy. As they watched the young masters and young mistresses descending, their excitement levels peaked. Being at a grand event like this would probably allow them to boast for a long time when they returned.

Jiang Yi remained silent as he sat there, not bothering to look at the young masters and young mistresses at all. Instead, he kept his gaze fixed on the Saint Spirit Mountain not far away. At that moment, he felt like coming here was the wrong move. Each time he saw the Saint Spirit Mountain, he would think about Yi Piaopiao who was still trapped inside. He would think about her slightly-bent, weak back. Then, he would feel the sharp pain in his chest once again.

Mo Huaisang and company did not bother to look at Jiang Yi at all, but Di Ling’er was focused on him. When she saw the red glow and unmistakable pain in his eyes, she sent a concerned voice transmission: “Jiang Yi, are you alright?”

“I am!”

Jiang Yi shook his head gently and sent a voice transmission in response. He sat cross-legged and closed his eyes, not wanting to look at the Saint Spirit Mountain anymore. He was afraid that he would not be able to control his own emotions and go crazy as a result.

Swish!

The sound of something cutting through the air was heard from afar. A figure shot towards them at top speed. One moment, he was a black dot in the distance; the next, he was a figure standing on the stage. He was tall and strong with a head of green hair, dancing in the breeze. His expression was unkempt and wild. Behind him, two wings were swaying. His eyes looked sharp as knives, and his gaze caused others to feel like they were being stabbed in their eyes. There was a terrifying, aggressive energy emitting from his body, which caused the others to feel the sudden urge to kneel down and worship him!

“Little Eagle King, Little Eagle King!”

A couple of young ladies on the spectators’ stand began screaming. Immediately, countless young ladies from the other two spectators’ stand followed suit. Many men sighed in admiration and envy. This Little Eagle King was too powerful, and his presence was too strong. They were destined to be crushed by his presence for the rest of their lives.

Jiang Yi was jolted awake by all the commotion. He opened his eyes and scanned the surroundings. There was not a hint of admiration or envy in his eyes. Instead, he continued to sit cross-legged, expressionless. At that moment, a divine boat flew towards them from afar and stopped just beside the Little Eagle King. Five people descended from it. All of them had horns on their heads. Jiang Yi guessed that they were all from the Ink Feather Race!

“Uh?”

Jiang Yi’s gaze locked in on a particularly small figure in the middle. His entire body jumped and stiffened as his eyes widened in shock and disbelief. A gentle, weak-looking, young girl donning a pure white dress stood in the middle of four guards, formidable martial artists from the Ink Feather Race. She wore a silk scarf around her face, but Jiang Yi immediately recognized her.

She was Jiang Xiaonu!
