Chapter 1：An Adulterous Couple

With her hand placed on the door handle, Gu Xi could hear a couple's moaning sounds from inside a luxurious suite and it was getting more intimate.

The man's breath turned erratic while the woman's deep moans sounded as though a knife had cut her heart into a thousand pieces.

It was her engagement night, and she was currently outside Qin Mo's lounge.

Ten minutes ago, she received a message which she initially refused to believe the contents of. However, her wild imagination and curiosity got the better of her and she found herself walking towards the door to the lounge…

Her slender fingers slightly trembled as she placed it on the door handle.

The door was locked, so she took a pair of keys out. This luxurious hotel belonged to the Gu Group. And as the general manager of the Gu Group, Gu Xi could naturally get the key to the suite.

She opened the door, only to witness a messy room—clothes and even undergarments were strewn all over the floor…

Gu Xi took a deep breath and walked farther in.

The thick carpet silenced her footsteps while she walked towards the bedroom door. Although she had already mentally prepared herself, she was still rendered shocked as she stood in front of the scene happening before her.

Qin Mo was leaning against the headboard of the bed with his eyes slightly closed while a woman sat on his waist.

The woman's long hair was let down on her back, and it looked exquisite…

As her charming body rose up and down, her hair swayed to the rhythm which made her seem especially attractive!

Gu Xi looked at the contented look on Qin Mo's face in bewilderment. A numb feeling crept up her heart and a question popped in her head—how long was it going to take before he exactly noticed her presence?

She, on the other hand, naturally did not realize a crowd of reporters silently appeared behind her. All of them had their cameras aimed at the couple making love to each other!

The couple finally sensed that something did not seem right and Qin Mo opened his almond-like eyes, only to stare straight into Gu Xi's stupefied ones!

A glint of panic flashed past his eyes while he quickly pushed the woman on him away.

The woman fell to the side and exposed her beautiful side profile. Upon recognizing the woman, Gu Xi pursed her lips which caused her initially cherry red lips to turn pale.

She subconsciously spat out two syllables from her mouth. "Xinru!"

The woman who was together with Qin Mo… was actually her best friend, Tang Xinru!

She and Tang Xinru had been in the same class and school since secondary school. Not forgetting to mention that Gu Xi was also the one who brought her into the Gu Group.

This best friend of hers actually had the guts to climb onto her fiancé's bed!

Gu Xi gave a peal of cold laughter as tears quickly welled up in her eyes. She stared at the couple, tears blurring her vision…

She did not go into a rampage, nor did she scream in anger. She only silently looked at them…

She was wearing a pure white gown whom she and Qin Mo chose together. It was very beautiful and elegant…

She told herself that even if she was not the most beautiful woman of the night, she should at least be the most elegant one.

"Gu Xi!" A look of surprise appeared on Qin Mo's face.

He tugged on the bedsheets to cover his pathetic state; however, regardless of how hard he tugged on the bedsheet, he could never cover up the nude woman beside him. How much more to cover up the fact that he cheated on Gu Xi.

Gu Xi turned her head to the side and refused to face him. Qin Mo sounded very desperate and anxious. "Gu Xi, it's not how it seems!"

He reached his hand out to hold her, but Gu Xi took a step back and refused to be touched by him.

"Dirty!" She coldly spat out a word to describe him.

Qin Mo looked as dead as ashes.

Tang Xinru, who was beside him, covered her body while saying in a gentle tone of voice, "Gu Xi, it's a misunderstanding!"

"A misunderstanding?" Gu Xi's voice sounded very cold. "So, are you telling me that both of you are just chatting under the bedsheets just now?"

Qin Mo wanted to explain, but looking at the reporters behind Gu Xi, he turned angry. "Even if you found out about us, do you have to be so ruthless?"

Gu Xi did not want to waste her breath on him and took off the diamond ring on her fair finger. She gently placed it beside Qin Mo's legs and peacefully looked at Tang Xinru. "As you wish!"

She raised her head, refusing to let those tears flow down her face despite knowing this would make her eyes feel very painful…

She straightened her back and walked out of the door. However, the reporters refused to let her off and asked her sharp questions one by one.

"Miss Gu, is your engagement with Mr. Qin Mo going to be canceled after this cheating incident?"

"Miss Gu, is Miss Tang your subordinate or your best friend? Were they having an affair long ago?"

"Miss Gu…"

The questions left Gu Xi's head spinning. She slept at three a.m. yesterday… all for tonight's engagement banquet.

Although it was a business marriage, she did not put any less effort into planning it.

She was also hopeful about Qin Mo… But…

It was impossible now!

She lowered her head and those tears, which she held back for so long, finally fell.

The noise beside her ear seemed to have died down and slowly disappeared. She could not hear anything anymore…

Just as she was about to raise her head, a wave of pain hit the back of her head and she fainted.

Ten minutes later, Qin Mo came out of the room all dressed-up. He looked very confused while he searched around for Gu Xi. However, she was no longer in the hotel.

Qin Mo stood in the empty hallway… His slender figure looked especially lonely.

'Gu Xi, I have lost you…'

A pair of slender hands touched his shoulders, but Qin Mo swatted them away in annoyance.

Tang Xinru sobbed and softly cried out, "I am so sorry Qin Mo. I messed up your wedding banquet…"

Qin Mo pursed his beautiful lips and threw the cigarette in his hands away before harshly squashing it with his feet. "I will get someone to send you home!"

"Qin Mo…" She could not even finish her sentence when Qin Mo quickly left.

Before he left, she saw the regret and weariness on his face…

Tang Xinru dug her nails into her palms while she told herself she would definitely make Qin Mo fall in love with her one day. When that happened, he would forget Gu Xi once and for all!

Yes, Gu Xi was prettier than Tang Xinru by a mile, and she also had a good family background, but then what?

Gu Xi would never be too concerned over Qin Mo. Take tonight, for example. She left without a word.

Hence, she was right! Gu Xi did not love Qin Mo at all!

New white rays shone through the window and onto the bed of a luxurious room…

Gu Xi woke up with a splitting headache. Her eyes fluttered open, only to see a white pillow and white curtains.

A nice-smelling cologne unique to the scent of a man wafted to her nose. It smelled very refreshing.

Her survival instincts suddenly kicked in and she wanted to sit upright, only to realize there was an arm… hugging her waist.

"You're awake?" A hoarse voice could be heard from behind.

It would be very sexy and alluring if one could hear such a voice in the morning, but Gu Xi did not seem to think so at that moment.

She quickly turned around, only to be met with a handsome face. His narrow eyes looked very striking and just under his tall nose resides a kissable thin lip…

Gu Xi swallowed her saliva and looked downwards…

It was a… man's body that looked exactly like how it appeared in every woman's dream!

His toned chest and smooth abs. Looking lower… Gu Xi stared at it for a few seconds.

The man asked in a lazy tone of voice, "Are you satisfied with what you are seeing?"

Gu Xi shifted her gaze back onto his handsome face, and she calmly asked, "Who are you?"

The man gave a faint smile and sat upright before taking a cigarette from the bedside table.

Witnessing that, Gu Xi furrowed her eyebrows.

The good thing was he only took one puff of his cigarette… He then focused his gaze on her small face. "Miss Gu, we did that thing last night!"
