Chapter 5 - Unknown Voice

In a deserted area, two young boys were walking through the woods.

One was very pale and malnourished, while the other boy was also slender but he looked healthy.

The malnourished boy was no one other than Kelan while the slender one was Jacob. It's been three years and no special event occurred, both of them are ten years in the current time. 

Jacob had awakened his bloodline which was super-strength but it was still worse than an F rank super. 

Kelan was still unable to grasp the heirloom.

They were on their way to the woods to hunt their first magical beast.  Any adult super who heard that two 10 years old boys were there to hunt an F-rank beast, the Supe would look at the person with disdain. Even Kelan's father won't hesitate to run with his hands on his head the moment he spots an F rank beast, yet these two boys had the balls of steel. 

After half an hour later the two boys went deep into the woods, they had yet to encounter any beast so they decided to take a nap and eat their lunch, while the boys were happily chatting away, they suddenly heard the dried leaves ruffled, their instinct kicked in and they look toward the sound and they spotted a young black Ry.

A Ry is an F-rank beast that looks like a wolf with large horns that could pierce steel.

Jacob pulled out his dagger and Kelan unsheathed his rusted sword, normally an F-rank beast was stronger than an F-rank human. 

The Ry slowly approached the two boys, licking its lips as it had seen a delicate lunch. When the Ry was about six meters away from the boys, it suddenly increased its pace and pounced towards Jacob, Jacob's instinct kicked in and he ducked to the side but the Ry claws still wounded him, the Ry suddenly became aggressive and attacked the two boys ruthlessly. Jacob's super strength and daggers were useless against the Ry, Kelan on the other hand, wasn't faring any better as his body was full of bruises and yet they had not injured the Ry in the slightest.

Kelan suddenly guessed a plan, it was risky but he still wanted to try it out, he tightened his grip on his sword and charged at the Ry, the Ry also noticed the change and it cautiously attacked Kelan. The Ry leaped upwards aiming for Kelan's head with its sharp canines as Kelan suddenly ducked his head and used his body as bait and stabbed the Ry's stomach, the Ry suddenly let out a cry and it dug its claws into Kelan's shoulders with all the strength it could muster. Jacob stab the Ry from the back with his dual daggers then the Ry dropped dead meeting its misfortune failure. 

Kelan was bleeding profusely and Jacob was panicking not knowing what to do. Kelan could feel his eyes turn blurry before he passed out.

Kelan could feel a very sharp pain on his head as he slowly opened his eyes, then he saw his Mom with tears in her eyes.

"Kelan you are awake,  you made me worried, why would you go and hunt a beast at your age? Your father is really angry at you, Jacob brought you home and he is outside with your father," Ana said. 

The door suddenly opened, Amon, Tina, and Jacob all came in together.

"Little brother, why do you have to put yourself in this situation? do you know how worried we were?"  Jaden said as she caressed Kelan's face. 

"Kelan, your sister is right, I will punish you and Jacob when you are fully healed," Amon said.

Kelan's ears suddenly perked up and imagine his butt cheeks turning purple from his father's spanking, Jacob also trembled.

He became anxious and looked at Amon, holding his hands together, meaning to implore.

"Mr. Amon, please don't tell my parents you can punish us as you like,'' Jacob pleaded.

The silence was present as Amon didn't reply and he walked out of the room followed by Ana.

"Kelan you are in hot soup!!" Ana said leaving beforehand, after her words, she closed the four shut.

As she went out of his room, Kelan's face turned pale as his mother was the worst. He wouldn't be able to sit for a week. 

"It's all my fault buddy, I'm sorry I thought I was strong enough. but I was wrong, I have to go home before my parents start to worry about me."  Jacob said and went out of the room followed by Tina who didn't utter a word. Jaden left also after kissing Kelan on the cheeks.  Kelan looked at her weirdly and his face displayed a wide grin.

Suddenly Kelan remembered something. 

"Before I faint I saw a notification-like system or something, maybe it was my imagination."  Then he checked his neck for the pendant but It was nowhere to be found.  Kelan started to panic. 

[Hey boya, chillax ]

"Huh!" 

Kelan was scared out of his wits, "WHO IS THAT?"
