Chapter 47 - The First Odi

In a large laboratory, Hector could be seen grinning, with a creepy smile plastered on his face.

"B-Boss, are you sure you want to do this?" a demon with a single, large horn on his head said, with a nervous expression on his face.

"Tch... After so many years of failed experiments. I'm finally going to test out my subject hahaha" Hector clicked his tongue and he picked up a tablet on his table.

Different types of pods could be seen inside the room, they were over a thousand pods.

However, there was a large transparent pod, it was so large, that the size could be comparable to a large duplex. The content of the Pod was a dead T.REX-demon-tier beast that Hector and his lackeys caught.

They discovered it on a planet, which the demons acknowledged that it was where beasts originated from, the elves were the only ones who formerly knew about it, however, the demons also discovered it on their own, leaving the humans in darkness, to prey on weak beasts that escaped from their planets through rifts and dimensional portals.

Hector tapped a button on his tablet and a machine with claws grabbed a pod and carried it to a large podium.

The demon beside Hector called Hanex, swallowed hard as he saw the robotic claw-like machine carrying the pod and dropping it on the large platform.

Hector took a deep breath and tapped another button.

The pod gave a screeching sound and the cover of the pod was blasted away, with a lot of white foggy smoke emitting from it.

Cough! Cough! Cough!

Hanex coughed as the smoke filled up the laboratory, however, Hector was unfettered by the smoke as he couldn't perceive it because he was a wight, the subclass of the undead.

After the smoke subdued, Hector and Hanex could see that there was nothing in their front, the pod was also still emitting some fog but it was minimal.

"Hanex Go and check it out," Hector said as he tugged Hanex's shoulders and urged him to inspect the pod.

"O-ok sir Gulp!" Hanex gulped and began approaching the pod, he stood in front of the pod, using his senses to detect any movement or vibrations as the fog still covered his view but he couldn't detect any sounds or movement.

"Boss, I can't detect anything, it seems like we failed again this time" Hanex replied and he became calm.

"Sigh... I failed again, when am I going to succeed with my experiment" Hector shook his head and dropped his tablet.

Suddenly, he saw a large clawed hand, through the fog, ripping off Hanex's heart.

Hanex had a look of horror as he saw his beating heart in the hands of a grey, 3 meters-tall, humanoid muscular lizard with a part-human~ part-lizard face and physique with a large oversized tail wriggling on his back.

"I-I..." Before Hanex could finish his sentence, the muscular lizard-man swung his large bladed tail at Hanex, separating his head from his body.

Crunch! Crunch! Crunch!

The Creature devoured Hanex's heart.

"Mmm, tasty. Grrr!!! Grrr!!!!" The creature roared and glanced at Hector.

"Hahaha, yes-yes, after a century I've finally achieved my dream and created the legendary Odi" Hector grinned from ear to ear without caring about the death of his butler.

"You..... It seems you are going to make a nice dessert" The creature said as he pointed his finger at Hector, with a sharp claw at the tip of it.

"Hahaha, this is too good, you can even talk, I'm your master, I created you, bow to me now, you can't go around and eat demons, just like you" Hector replied with a smirk.

"Grr... I'm not a demon, I'm superior to you filth, prove yourself as my creator" the Odi replied, and a single ring-like object on its bladed tail began to glow red and his muscles began to bulge.

"A-According to my research of the past, t-this is the berserk mode" Hector mumbled and he began to search for his scythe but he couldn't find it.

The Odi crouched and gathered kinetic energy on its muscular legs and leaped in the air, causing craters to appear on the floor.

"Fuck!" Hector cursed as he also jumped to the back.

Boom! 

The Odi landed near Hector, causing the Lab to shake violently.

The Odi swiped his bladed tail at Hector while Hector picked a metal sheet that was beside him, using it to take the attack of the Odi head-on.

Bang!

The huge tail landed on the metal sheet in Hector's hands, cutting it in half and also chopping off Hector's hand.

"Shit! NO!!!" 

Hector's face turned pale as his hands were chopped off, however, his hands began to regenerate at an alarming rate as he leaped back a few meters away from the Odi.

Hector didn't feel pain as he was under the subclass of the undead, but he protected his head at all cost because it was his weak point.

Hector landed on the floor and quickly coated himself with his demon energy.

The Odi frowned as Hector survived his attack.

Unexpectedly, the Odi tail started pulsating, and tiny thorns shot out from his tail, flying at Hector at an unbelievable speed.

Hector had coated his body with his energy making his skin hard, the thorns hit him but they bounced off as soon as they made contact with his body.

"I'm not going to die after my achievement," Hector thought and he gritted his teeth as he dashed towards the Odi.

Hector used a flash step, as he also knew about it.

His flash step was so fast that the terrifying lizard couldn't follow his movements.

You are an annoying one, I bet you will taste good" the Odi smirked as he swung his bladed tail randomly, Hector evaded the attack, using flash steps continuously. 

He could feel his energy depleting but he had a crazy amount of energy.

Hector gathered all the energy he could harness from his demon core to his fist, hoping to kill the Odi in one hit.

Hector flipped his body like a gymnast, evading the Odi's claws that were swiped at him, and he landed his fist on the Odi's chest.

"Grrrrr!!!!" 

The Odi roared as he was sent skidding a few meters away. However, It was still standing on his feet, unscathed.

"This... T-that was my strongest blow without my weapon, it could destroy a village but it couldn't put a scratch on this thing, no wonder our ancestors eradicate all of them. Based on my research, they weren't this strong, what have I created?" Hector thought and his legs began to give out as he had depleted his energy.

"Humph, what a weak snack" the Odi mumbled and leaped in the air, landing in front of Hector.

He grabbed Hector's legs and began slamming him on the hard floor of the laboratory.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Craters and web cracks appeared on the floor as the Odi slammed Hector on the ground with his full strength.

"Die! You damned snack!" The Odi clicked his tongue in anger.

Hector's body was regenerating as the Odi slammed him on the hard floor, but he clutched his hands over his head, protecting it from any fatal damage.

The Odi also seemed to realize that Hector was protecting his head, the Odi grinned as he dropped Hector on the floor and raised his foot high, ready to stomp on his head and crush it into meat paste.

Hector swallowed and accepted his fate as he could see the large foot, aiming for his head.

As the Odi's foot was a few inches away from crushing Hector's head, a masked figure suddenly dropped from the roof and grabbed the Odi's leg.

"You can't kill my subordinate" the masked man muttered and he flung the Odi away like paper, sending him crashing into the junks and pods of the lab.

"Grrrr...!!!" 

The Odi roared in anger and his tail began to bulge with another ring, making it two rings that were glowing red.

"Mmm, you have evolved but you are still weak compared to me" the masked man muttered, and he dashed towards the Odi with his hands spinning, and blood could be seen dripping on it.

Boom! 

The masked man slammed his fist into the Odi's chest, drilling a hole through him. The Odi looked at the masked man in horror before it fell on the ground and died on the spot.

"Mmm, these things are somewhat strong, I had to use my blood powers" the masked man mumbled and he glanced at Hector who was lying on the floor.

He threw a pack of meat to Hector and removed the mask on his face.

"Y-Your Majesty!" Hector muttered as he caught the meat pack.

"Long time no see Hector, to think that you are carrying out a dangerous experiment without informing me. 

Do you know that you are missing out on something that will make these creatures become our perfect weapon?" The man smirked.
