Chapter 34 - Wasted And Dirty Women

Chasina returned to her room and cleaned herself. She laid on her bed as she went into deep thought.

It's her first time getting scolded in front of everyone.

She really felt she did the wrong thing. She thought back to the moments that happened earlier. Everything is filled with blood, cries of agony, and pain, gunshots. The mess that happened earlier is still fresh.

But the thing which suddenly popped out of her thoughts is, Does it worth it?

The question is repeated again. The devil inside her mind asked, "Sina! Your decision and their deaths are they worth?"

She immediately answered Yes! To herself. But she doesn't know how to support her answer. She felt distressed.

Suddenly her phone rang. It's not a call or message it's a reminder to her. She tends to forget things due to her work and busy schedule. So, she keeps reminders. And today her friend Laura is returning to Alvonia.

She went to the Country Alamba. Her friend Laura is a traveler. She loves traveling around the world. She didn't go traveling for a complete year due to the chaos in the country due to their president's death. But from the past three months, she is traveling without a break. And she is returning to the country today. It's already midnight. Her flight will land at 2. A. M. Laura asked Chasina to pick her up from the airport.

She actually forgot to pick her up!

She will be killed if she is not on time damn it!

She immediately got up and dressed. She grabbed her keys and ran like a ninja immediately.

In twenty minutes she reached the airport. She saw her friend who is already waiting for her in the lobby.

Laura saw her and waved her hand enthusiastically. Chasina went over and took her language as she guided her out of the airport.

"So? Where are we going? Our apartment or your parent's house or my parent's house. " Chasina asked her as they sat in the car after settling her language in the trunk.

Seeing Laura is contemplating Chasina offered "why don't we go to my parent's home? I'm staying there tonight. " she asked.

"Okay," Laura replied.

The entire ride went with Laura chatter only. Chasina just replied with hmm or en or nodding her head from time to time.

"So what happened?" Laura asked.

"What do you mean?" Chasina asked confusedly.

"You know the harsh truth is we both are known for chattering nonstop when we met. But I'm talking from the moment I came but you are sitting silently as a rock. How can I not sense?" Laura said.

"Hmm..... Nothing can escape from your eyes. Huh?" Chasina snorted.

"Of course I have hawk eyes. Hehe, " she giggled as she squinted her eyes in front of her. Chasina laughed along with her.

"So what happened?" Laura asked again.

"Looks like I can't escape from your clutches, " Chasina said.

Laura gave her a look which says "you can't".

Chasina narrated the whole story to her.

Laura tapped her chin as she listened to her tale.

"So, you are feeling you are wrong too. Hmm," she said. It's not a question but a statement.

Chasina is stunned at her words. Because it's true. She felt she is wrong. Looking at her friend's gaze she nodded hesitantly.

"Cheesy, you are not wrong. And the people who are dead are not right too. As they said it may be true, that situations might have turned them into criminals. But does it mean they have to become criminals? They can be good persons too. Everything depends on the choice we pick.

"And it's their problem for choosing that way. It's their choice. And they have to face the consequences of their wrong choices. One should have the guts to face the consequences of their decisions.

"What is there to feel guilty? Huh? They tortured women. They killed people. There are even child rapes and murders. Did they ever think about the agony of those women and their families? If they have a little bit of kindness they would have let the woman go. But they didn't. Instead, they complained about them and became a part of the crime.

"Now since you are feeling guilty let me say something. I have traveled a lot of places. I have met different people. I know about the outside world more. Now, these women are wasted now in the eyes of society. They are considered dirty. We don't know how many families accept them back to their houses. Even if they are accepted we don't know how they will treat them.

"Now, some of the victims will be traumatized, some of them will get ill, some of them try to end their lives, some of them need to be taken to the rehabilitation center.

The question is, what about their upcoming future? Who will take care of them? For instance, let's say your people didn't kill them. Will those people take care of them? No, they will try to sell them or use them in one way or another which profit them. Will they care about these women? No!

"In my opinion, what you did is right. Because if you left them alive. Our government will sentence them to stay in jail for years. They will be fed well and given with food too. It's a waste of time and money." Laura concluded her long speech with a hmph! She crossed her hands in front of her chest.

"But they are lives too, " Chasina trailed sounding too low.

"Of course they are. I agree. But what about the victim's lives. Aren't their lives or not lives? Don't they have any value? They gave them harshest punishment than death. Don't you think it's unfair? They are innocents. What did they do to deserve it? But still, they suffered. It's all because of their selfishness. They only add weight to the earth. Don't think anymore.

" Cheesy, a situation can be seen in more than one way. We can't decide it's wrong while seeing only one side. It's unfair" she paused.

"Wait do you have anything in your home to eat? I'm dead hungry..." Laura continued to break the silence.

"I don't think we have anything. Maybe we should look for something which can be made instantly. How about we look around and see if there is anything that is open which serves food? Hmm, " Chasina proposed.

"Let's do that. Probably we may find night snacks only. Except that I don't think we find any other things. Also lets a food competition. Hehe, " Laura said.

"Okay, " Chasina said as she accelerated with a newfound motivation.
