Sofya looked up. His chocolate brown eyes were boring into her black eyes, as if she had wronged him somehow. Behind them, she could see a hint of despair. Unable to understand what he meant, She pushed him away lightly, she was prone to not displaying her affections openly.
" Did you have too much to drink? " She asked him warily, her eyebrows raised, trying to read his face.
" Even if I did, it has nothing to do with you! " He muttered, walking away.
" Don't worry, sis-in-law. Usually bro can hold his liquor! " He apologized quickly & hurried away after Arnav.
This haughtiness of his shocked Sofya. It was he who had made the first move, she was just concerned about his health and here he was, as usual being ruthless & cruel.
This whole episode did not go unnoticed by Nina. Nursing her drink, she made a call.
' Sofya, you lost to me once... you'll fare worse now. Let's see how you survive this ordeal. You are a dead meat. ' she thought, laughing inwardly. All those things that Sofya had done to her, she would repay them back, ounce by ounce.
Arnav walked slowly towards his car, thinking about ' her '. Can it be a coincidence? What were the odds? He had no idea what made him say the exact same line to Sofya that he had said to ' her '. She was a nobody in his life. Why did he care if she dressed for someone else?
He had promised himself he would not remember her again, but seeing Sofya tonight stirred up a lot of memories.
The words ' You are not worthy of me ' echoed in his mind. His heart thumped at an odd beat, it was as if thousands of glass pieces were attacking his heart as the painful memories resurfaced.
Arnav closed his eyes & took a steady breath, trying to calm himself down. The cool evening breeze did little to soothe his mind and heart. His insides were churning & he was not feeling well.
" Bro, you all right? I have been trying to --- "
Advay jumped aside just in time to avoid a pool of vomit. Arnav was leaning over the car parking railing, holding his stomach, he vomited some more.
