15 Failed them

Thornfield Mansion, Raizada Residence

After returning from hospital, Arnav had immediately gone up to his room for shower. Advay came to his dad's room, knocked twice before entering.

" Dad. "

Mr. Raizada was standing near the fireplace, the burning flames reflected in his eyes. He was deep in thought, his face unreadable. At the sound of the knock, he looked up & smiled.

" What did the doc say? " He asked directly. He was not the one to beat around the bush.

Advay rolled his eyes at his acting.

" The doc said he has a cute gastroenteritis problem. He even advised bro to take an allergen test when he was feeling better. "

Raising his eyebrows and mildly surprised by this revelation, Mr. Raizada asked " Allergen test? "

" It seems he has developed an allergic reaction to alcohol & wines. It maybe due to over consumption over these past years. "

" Yes, it maybe so. " Mr. Raizada replied sadly. Thinking about the past years, how he had failed to instill in Arnav the basic lessons of life, made him loathe himself. He had promised his mother he would do everything in his power to make him a better person, but he not only failed on his promise but Arnav as well.

The sadness did not go unnoticed by Advay. He himself wished they could reconcile one day.

He whispered softly, " Dad, if you care so much about bro, just let him see this side of yours. I am sure bro will accept you. "

He could only hope things to get better between his dad & bro. He didn't like being stuck in the middle, performing the duty of a communicator.

Mr. Raizada laughed mirthlessly. Patting Advay on head, he said " The boy does not even call me dad. What makes you think he will accept me? "

To that, Advay had no answer.

Four days had passed since the exhibition, Sofya knew they needed to discuss the clauses immediately. Their marriage proposal was not announced to the world yet, but it would be soon. Mr. Raizada & Grandpa had decided upon this weekend to announce the impending engagement. It would be announced via tabloids, press meetings & social media.

In short, Arnav and Sofya didn't had to do anything. The announcement would be personally made by the elders, so they were free.

Arnav was busy in a meeting. He had his phone on airplane mode, so the call made by Sofya didn't go through. She next tried to call his receptionist, Annie.

Upon assuring her that she would have Arnav call her back as soon as he was out of the meeting, she put down the call.

Miss Sofya Khemka andMr. Arnav Singh Raizada? What was brewing between these two? Her imaginations started running wild. They had no business together, were expertise in different fields, had no previous contact, but then why such a big change? Annie's mind could logically conclude only one thing - they were dating. But then again, Arnav was a playboy and a lady like Sofya would most certainly not fall for him.
