After passing through the first door, Long Yu was greeted by the body of a man in uniform, sprawled on the floor. He figured it was probably the person in charge of the counter.
Since he had to exit through this door again later, he had to take precautions against this unconscious staff.
Long Yu took out a roll of duct tape and got to work. After binding the man's hands, feet and mouth, he left him there, and proceeded to open the second door.
When he entered the room, he could see an office-like set up inside. There were several desks with computers and money counter machines on them.
It showed exactly how lucrative the business is. It was to the point that the money flowing into the casino, was too much for one person alone to count.
Similar to the previous man, Long Yu immobilised the workers on the floor with his handy roll of duct tape.
Seeing the stacks of money on the desks, he did not hesitate to absorb them into the system. Although the amount is small change compared to what was inside the vault, there was no reason not to take them.
After that, he walked deeper into the room until he saw a huge circular silver-grey door.
It has the finish of a stainless steel material, with gold trimmings decorating its surface. The bulk of the door is made of massive cast iron which is extremely resistant to acetylene torches.
Facing this door, Long Yu had a headache. It would be pointless to use brute force to try and open it. His kick with the exoskeleton armour may be strong, but the vault door has a 360 degree placement of locking bolts securing it in place.
Furthermore, he would surely activate the re-locking devices in the door, if he was to forcefully attack it.
After a brief examination, Long Yu discovered a fingerprint and iris scanner installed on the vault door. Since there was no harm in trying, he might as well try his luck.
Turning back the way he came from, he scanned the unconscious tied up workers on the floor. Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw that one of them was wearing a smart looking suit.
Due to the tedious task of repeatedly duct taping them, he didn't bother to look at them previously. Hopefully, the man in the suit was the key to the vault that he was looking for.
Long Yu dragged the man by the collar of his shirt from behind and walked back to the vault.
….
A few minutes later, Long Yu heard the sweet sound of a vault door unlocking. The sound of the steel bolts retracting was like music to his ears. To his luck, the fingerprint and iris of the man in the suit really was able to unlock it.
Behind the round heavy door was a metal gate blocking his advance. This time, Long Yu directly kicked it with his left foot, forcing it open.
He looked towards the unconscious 'key' and patted his shoulder, thanking him for his contribution.
Entering the vault, Long Yu could not help but take a deep breath. It was the smell of crisp banknotes, and there was an overflowing amount of it.
He then took his time and observed the entire interior of the vault. Although he was able to get a glimpse of it from the outside using his x-ray vision, there might have been things that he overlooked.
After confirming that there were no hidden compartments that contain any valuable items, he started his sweep.
...
Long Yu walked out of the vault ten minutes later, dusting off his hands. His pockets were now ten times fatter than before.
[585,879,485 yuan]
If the owner of the casino was to walk into the vault right now, he would probably be shocked to death. All the thousands of stacks of red bills that were neatly arranged inside, were now gone.
Now that Long Yu had refilled his currency, he turned his attention towards the armoury.
Luckily, it was located nearby the vault. Otherwise, it would have been troublesome.
Long Yu raised his left leg towards a black metal door, adjacent to where the vault is, and served it with a kick.
*Clang*
The now deformed door broke from its hinges and crashed into a rack of firearms.
'Ah sh*t! What's with this flimsy door!?' Long Yu winced as he looked at the guns that were scattered on the floor.
He had unknowingly kicked it at full strength, since he assumed that the armoury entrance door would be sturdier than the rest.
Fortunately, after a quick check, he found that none of the guns were damaged.
Long Yu then inventoried all the weapons inside the armoury by their types and quantities.
There were mainly pistols, sub-machine guns and assault rifles. The handguns he collected consisted of type-51 and type-92 pistols. As for the rifles, they were mostly type-56 and type-81.
Besides that, Long Yu also found a small assortment of foreign firearms. Seeing that they were placed in a separate area from the other guns, he figured it was probably a personal collection of the owner.
After putting all the guns into duffle bags that he exchanged from the system, he started to pack the ammunitions and magazines as well.
Long Yu personally wouldn't be using the guns that he took from the armoury, since he couldn't store them into the system like his current weapons. The ammunition however, was suited for his use since they were consumables.
He knew that the value of firearms would soar very quickly after doomsday began. After all, who wouldn't want to be able to protect themselves from those terrible creatures.
Thus, Long Yu planned on trading them with other humans for a more valuable type of resource, one that is extremely precious to him.
