After killing every single zombie in sight, Long Yu put away his gun and shifted the gear into drive once more.

When the middle aged man surnamed Zhang, saw that the young man had the intention of leaving, he quickly ran forward to stop him.

"Young- young man! Please wait!" he shouted, not caring if his voice would attract any nearby zombies.

With such a strong deterrent here, even if another horde appeared, they would be swept away all the same.

Long Yu turned his gaze towards the survivors.

The middle aged man who was wearing a suit has a slightly chubby stature. His face looked haggard, his chin was full of stubbles, presumably having not shaved for days.

Beside him stood a woman with a perfectly curved figure. Her bosom was so full that it could burst out of her slightly dirty blouse at any moment. Despite her similarly haggard expression, she still exuded a mature charm that could attract all men.

Further off in the distance was the third survivor, also in an office suit, hobbling over. Based on the way that she was walking, she had probably sprained her ankle during the escape. This was the young woman who had almost fallen victim to the claws of the zombies. Wet mascara marks stained her pretty face as she tried to wipe away her tears.

As she felt Long Yu's gaze linger on her, she could not help but be frightened. Although this young man had saved their lives, no one could guarantee that he has no ill intentions towards them. If he really did, none of them will have the power to resist.

When the middle aged man saw that Long Yu had ignored him, he felt a bit disgruntled. However, he had no choice but to swallow his anger. He put on a smile and once again called out to Long Yu.

"Young ma-"

"What?," Long Yu interrupted him in an annoyed tone. He had obviously witnessed the two survivors abandoning their companion, and therefore have a bad impression of them. Although he has no say in other survivors' actions, the incident still left an unpleasant taste in his mouth.

"Ca-can you please take us with you?" The man timidly asked as he secretly eyed the black armored vehicle in front of him with expectation.

"This vehicle's full." Long Yu directly ended the conversation. He would not randomly let strangers into his car, much less ones that he had bad impression of.

"You- how can you be like this?!" this time, it was the charming woman called Wei Ying, who shouted.

Despite not being able to see into the car, she somehow knew that the young man was lying. Furthermore, they were also directly rejected without any consideration.

In truth, even if Long Yu allowed them, they would not be able to fit into the car. After all, the back seats were already filled with supplies.

"If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving. Take care." Long Yu lazily waved.

"Wait! The- the direction you're heading in, it's dangerous!" another voice called out.

Long Yu's hands which were about to grab the steering wheel, paused. He looked towards the young woman who had sprained her ankle. "Speak. What do you mean?" he asked with an indifferent expression.

"Vampire...there's a giant vampire tree near the city's exit…" the young woman's voice trembled with a hint of fear as she spoke.

"Vampire tree?" Long Yu's eyebrows raised in surprise. He expected the danger that the woman warned him, to be an army of zombies or perhaps some mutated animal.

Although it wasn't uncommon for plants to mutate during doomsday as well, this was his first time encountering one.

"It's a name that we came up with… but that tree is really dangerous! It has already killed countless survivors!" the young woman subconsciously raised her voice, as if trying to emphasize how scary the creature was.

"Your name?" Long Yu asked after staying silent for a while.

"Huh?" the young woman replied in confusion.

"I'm asking you for your name," Long Yu patiently repeated his question once more.

"Ah- it's Li Xue Lan," she nervously replied.

"Alright Miss Li, thank you for the warning, but I prefer to see things with my own eyes. You should go find a place to hide for the time being," Long Yu advised as he looked towards the direction of the city's exit.

He planned to pay the so-called vampire tree a visit in order to determine it's threat level. If it could be directly destroyed with firearms or explosives, he would not hesitate to do so. After all, a mutated creature represented the possibility of a mutant core, which Long Yu sorely needed.

However, if it proved to be too dangerous, Long Yu would first retreat and then plan for a countermeasure.

Seeing that he did not listen to her advice, Li Xue Lan felt helpless. Although the young man was armed with guns, she knew that it would not be enough.

As a person who had witnessed her previous companions being killed by the giant vampire tree, she was clear on how scary that creature was.

Mr Zhang and Wei Ying who stood at the side, were constantly cursing at Long Yu in their hearts.

'Hmph! Who cares if you have a gun or an armored car?! You'll die all the same to that stupid tree!'

....

The engine of the Black Shark roared as it sped towards its destination.

Long Yu did not encounter any major threats along the way. It was just some normal zombies that he easily mowed through. In fact, the deeper they went, the scarcer the zombies were. Before long, the road had became eerily desolate and quiet.
