Chapter 150 - Evil Plans

Although Jing Yichen wanted to toss Shangguan Rouxue off the staircase badly, he stopped himself.

By doing this, Shangguan Rouxue would only suffer temporarily. That would be too little a punishment for her.

What Jing Yichen wanted was to destroy her name and her family, so that her entire life was completely ruined.

He had already collected all the evidence, and as soon as Xie Zhuojun married her, he was going to reveal the other side of hers.

Hopefully, Xie Zhuojun would not change his mind after seeing what happened just now.

Xie Zhuojun did see it clearly that while speaking with Shangguan Ning in an extremely kind tone, Shangguan Rouxue kicked her on her knee on the sly.

Shangguan Rouxue was stunned by the appearance of Jing Yichen, and she got dumbfounded seeing Xie Zhuojun the next second. The last thing that she had expected was that this man who had always been so gentle and kind to her, would slap her.

In her panic, she couldn’t even feel the stinging pain of the slap.

“Zhuojun! How could you slap me? I love you more than anyone else in the world. Don’t you trust me? Sister lost her balance on her own. I was just trying to grab her but failed to do so. How can you blame me? I would rather fall myself than see her getting hurt!”

Her voice was still so gentle and lovely, catchy like the chirping of orioles. But Xie Zhuojun found it extremely noisy.

“Shangguan Rouxue, do you take me to be a blind man? Are you still trying to lie to me at this moment? How much longer are you going to keep doing it? I didn’t know your real face until today. Either you have been extremely successful or I have been a complete failure!”

Xie Zhuojun got so furious that his entire face turned red. The blue veins on his forehead popped and he was on the verge of losing control.

He wanted to slap Shangguan Rouxue once again, but he held himself back in the end. He vented out for a bit and then strode away.

Xie Zhuojun’s parents came to the hospital to visit Shangguan Zheng when they got to know that he had fainted.

By then, Xie Zhuojun had already left. Only Yang Wenshu and Shangguan Rouxue were by the sickbed.

Both the daughter and the mother looked terrible. Both, Xie Dongfeng and Wang Lu thought that they were just worried about Shangguan Zheng, so they kept consoling them.

Shangguan Rouxue gathered herself to try and converse with her future parents-in-law. But suddenly, she couldn’t hold it any more and fainted.

After the doctor examined her, she smiled at the three anxious people. “Congratulations, she is four weeks pregnant. Take care of her and don’t let her tire out easily, otherwise it would be bad for the child and the mother.”

Couple Xie got a bit surprised hearing the words, yet Yang Wenshu got extremely happy.

Her daughter got pregnant at the right time!

Wang Lu and Xie Dongfeng exchanged a look and both of them got worried.

They had been seeing Xie Zhuojun’s changing attitude towards Shangguan Rouxue. In the beginning, he had refused to tell them anything but after much prodding, he told them that he didn’t want to marry Shangguan Rouxue!

If he hadn’t been so unwilling and if he had liked Shangguan Rouxue much, he would definitely not have said anything like that because of his soft-hearted personality. They were engaged and everyone around them knew that. Both Family Xie and Family Shangguan were reputed families in A City and they couldn’t be so fickle as to break the promise.

But if their son really disliked Shangguan Rouxue or didn’t want to spend his life with her, the couple would eventually support him. It was just an engagement and they had done it before as well. Shangguan Ning had been so devoted to their son and they still had driven her away.

However, if Shangguan Rouxue was pregnant, then it was a different matter!

The reason why they could break the engagement with Shangguan Ning easily before was because nothing happened between her and Xie Zhuojun, and also because she had been an innocent girl. But Shangguan Rouxue was now pregnant with Family Xie’s baby and it was not going to be easy to break off the engagement.

Although Shangguan Zheng was still in coma, yet if he woke up and realized that his pregnant daughter’s engagement was broken off, he was definitely going to get very angry.

Wang Lu and Xie Dongfeng were both smart, experienced people capable of keeping a poker face and not revealing their true thoughts in front of anyone.

Both of them praised Shangguan Rouxue and asked her to take rest, treating her exactly like their cherished daughter-in-law.

Wang Lu scooped out a card from the purse and gave it to Shangguan Rouxue. She said smilingly, “This is a little present for you. Buy anything you want to eat and don’t be careless or refuse to eat meat just because you don’t like animals getting killed.”

Shangguan Rouxue promised to do so, with a smile. The four of them chatted happily for a while and then went away with different thoughts in each of their minds.

Couple Xie had a very bad feeling when they didn’t see their son there.

Xie Zhuojun had come to the hospital before them but now he was nowhere to be seen. He couldn’t have known about Shangguan Rouxue being pregnant and he needed to be informed as soon as possible.

He had to stop thinking about breaking off the engagement with Shangguan Rouxue, and they needed to get married quickly!

After Couple Xie left, Shangguan Rouxue’s expression of shyness and happiness expression were gone instantly.

Yang Wenshu’s smiling look was gone as well. She took her daughter’s hands in her own and asked with a low voice. “Xue, didn’t you say that you don’t want to get pregnant so soon? What happened? If you have a baby now, you will never become an actress!”

Shangguan Rouxue had been very devoted to her career. She was fed up with being just a hostess, because it didn’t have much of a future for her. She had spoken with several directors and producers about getting into the film industry, so that she could become an actress quickly.

But if she was pregnant at this stage, her future was definitely going to be affected.

Family Xie had not approved her of getting involved with the entertainment industry, and they would definitely not allow her to be an actress after she got pregnant.

Hands tightly clenched, Shangguan Rouxue said in a vicious tone, one that was totally different from her usual gentle tone. “Don’t worry, Mother. I never wanted to have this baby. But I have reason to announce it at this moment. I have a long-term plan!”
