Chapter 186 - Tricked!

Yang Wenshu’s face, which had become slightly better recently, was badly mutilated. The exposed skin on her neck and arms was full of horrible black lines instead of the blue veins as if she had been terribly poisoned.

While screaming, she started to scratch herself ferociously and soon those places started to bleed horribly. But she didn’t seem to be aware of it. She just kept screaming and scratching like a mad woman.

Shangguan Zheng spoke on the phone in a panic, “Second Master, please send a doctor to check up on my wife! She has just been poisoned by Elder Master and her body is now full of black marks. She has scratched herself and is now wounded.”

Jing Yiran said nonchalantly, “Just let her die then! Getting a plastic surgeon for her is already the biggest kindness that I can offer. I am not running a charity where you keep getting help whenever you want it. I have helped you so much, but I have not received anything back. If you don’t keep your side of the bargain, I will leave you alone. Don’t blame me for losing your official position. I am a businessman and I don’t enter into deals that make me lose money!”

Shangguan Zheng nodded his head and promised. “I know what you want. I will ask my daughter to come home and make her marry you. She has always been obedient and will not dare to disobey me this time too. Please be assured!”

“Oh no, no, no I am not assured at all. Your daughter is fierce like a tigress. She is full of thorns and bites, and she even tried to kill me! I must make her obey me completely. You just need to trick her to come home and leave the rest to me. I am going to marry her, and I am going to make her my woman!”

Lying in the bed, Jing Yiran still had a thick layer of gauze over his head. His face which had been pale had become completely red. His eyes turned amorous.

As long as it was related to Shangguan Ning, he always became incredibly excited and hot blood coursed through his body!

He had never been so excited before, even when he had beaten Jing Yichen sometime ago.

Jing Yiran hung up the phone and sat up. He felt his heart and could tell that his heartbeat was speeding up. He was curious.

What was going on?

He had become interested in Shangguan Ning only because of Jing Yichen. He only wanted to see what kind of woman Jing Yichen had fallen for and he simply wanted to ruin the woman Jing Yichen liked!

But now he didn’t want to do that. This woman was extraordinary. She behaved and talked differently from the others, and she always managed to keep him interested.

She was so fierce. She had turned him down coldly and proudly and she could even kill him. On the other hand, she was so naïve and easily irritated, and gullible.

Kind, elegant and fearless, she was like a white rose growing in the stormy rain. She was so pure and clean yet she had surrounded herself with thorns.

He suddenly realized that he thought about her when he walked, when he ate and when he slept!

Had he lost his senses because of the hit from the vase?

Why did he want to keep her to his side more and more desperately?

The more he thought about it, the more excited he became. Getting Shangguan Ning to marry him was a wonderful thing because of two reasons.

He would not only able to get the Beauty but also strike Jing Yichen hard.

Jing Yichen loved Shangguan Ning so much, and if he were to discover that his wife had divorced him, he was definitely going to be majorly upset.

Jing Yiran tried to imagine the scene where jing Yichen would become furious. That made him burst into excited laughter.

Ignoring the wound on his head and the pain in his head, he ripped off the gauze, got dressed and sneaked out of the house.

Although Jing Zhongxiu had grounded him, yet as long as he wasn’t watching Jing Yiran himself, Jing Yiran had a way to sneak out. He always got out no matter how many times he was grounded.

The moment Shangguan Ning arrived at the office, she received a call from Shangguan Zheng.

Shangguan Ning had no fatherly love towards him any more, because he had never shown any affection towards her and didn’t even regard her as his daughter.

She decided not to take his call but the phone kept ringing. It seemed that Shangguan Zheng would keep calling until she answered.

What was happening that Shangguan Zheng had become so persistent?

Shangguan Ning was, after all, not ruthless enough. She picked up the phone, fearing that something had happened to him.

The anxious voice of the servant of Family Shangguan arose from the phone. “Please, Elder Lady, come home please. The Lord is sick and the Lady and the Second Lady are not at home. Please come and take the Lord to the hospital!”

Shangguan Ning’s heart skipped a bit. “Why did he get sick all of a sudden? Hasn’t he been keeping well?”

“I am not sure. It seems that the Lord can’t be the Mayor any more, so he fell ill. He has passed out twice since the morning. But the Lord doesn’t want us to send him to the hospital, because he doesn’t want others to know that he can not be the Mayor anymore. Please come and convince him to go to the hospital!”

This was Shangguan Zheng’s style. He didn’t want to visit the doctor everytime he was sick, fearing that he would look weak and it would affect his chances of attaining a higher position.

Also, Jing Yichen had told her that he was going to remove Shangguan Zheng from the Mayor position. Could it have been that Shangguan Zheng had gotten sick because of anxiety?

Whatever the reason was, Shangguan Ning could not leave him alone at this moment.

Shangguan Zheng had not regarded her as his daughter, but she couldn’t let her father to die at home.

“Okay, just wait. I will come over now!” Shangguan Ning hung up the phone, snatched up the handbag and car keys and went downstairs. She started to drive towards her father’s home in a hurry.

But the moment she reached and went inside the door, the gate was locked behind her. The servant who had sounded so anxious, looked guilty standing beside her. She seemed to be concealing something. Shangguan Zheng, who should have been sick, was standing there looking fine, and vicious.

Shangguan Ning’s heart sank. She realized that she had been tricked!

“Weren’t you sick, father? What is it going on! Did you… lie to me? Where is Jing Yiran?”
