Zhang Rong had no idea what was wrong in what she said, so she didn’t know what to say when interrogated by her son in this way.
She had been so happy when she heard from Jing Zhongxiu about Jing Yichen getting shot and being in a critical state. She had thought that her son had made it happen.
Unexpectedly, her son was behaving in such a weird manner. What was the point of getting so pissed?
She got quite sad inside her heart and didn’t speak until much later, “What do you mean by that? Of course I am your real mother and that is why I have been planning and plotting for your sake. Why do I need to care about your food and sleep when all the servants are there? I have been tolerating so much for many years just for your sake!”
“As soon as Jing Yichen dies, the entire family fortune will be yours. Isn’t that what you always wanted? I wasn’t capable enough to give birth to you before him, but I can still make it possible that you get what you deserve. But you always make me sad rather than caring about me and you even dare to interrogate me. How disappointing…”
Tears dripped out of Zhang Rong’s eyes, trickling down along her wrinkle free face. She looked really sad and most people’s hearts would break looking at her expression.
But Jing Yiran ignored her completely. She always wore this kind of expression whenever people annoyed her or said something bad, just to show that she had been wronged.
She didn’t want to give up the title of the lady of Family Jing. She felt that she deserved everything, the respect of the servants, the love of Jing Zhongxiu, the enormous amount of properties as well as the obedience of her son!
But what had she given up for it and what did she do to prove that she was worth it?
He had been fed by Mo Lan and the servants. Zhang Rong never wanted to hold him in her arms, fearing that he would crease her expensive dress or ruin her hairstyle that she had spent so much time on!
He had not been hugged by either of his parents.
What was the point of giving birth to him anyway?
Jing Yiran didn’t want to stay at home for even a single moment. He turned around and started to walk out.
Zhang Rong cried out for him in tears, but he turned deaf ears to her wails. Instead, he got into his car and drove away from that disgusting place.
For some reason, Jing Yiran involuntarily reached Family Mu’s Hospital.
He parked the car and strode inside.
The nurses at the Hospital instantly got attracted by his handsome face and the devious charisma. They stared at him, transfixed.
However, Jing Yiran had no interest in talking with them. Without saying a word, he walked straight into the ward.
It was very easy to find Jing Yichen’s ward, because it was fully guarded. No other patients were on the entire floor apart from the strong bodyguards at Family Jing.
When the bodyguards saw Second Master, they exchanged a confused look.
They knew pretty well that Elder Master and Second Master didn’t get on well with each other and often fought. Of course, most of the time it was Second Master who almost died whilst Elder Master prevailed. Was Second Master here today to kill Elder Master in his sleep?
No one dared to let Jing Yiran in without permission. The lead guard stopped him forcefully. “Second Master, I am sorry, but you can’t go in.”
“Move away!” Jing Yiran was in a very bad mood. He kicked at the bodyguard’s belly without thinking and was flung away by the guard in return.
That made everyone think that he was here for trouble, so they all gathered together.
Jing Yiran frowned and said calmly, “Just get away from me. I am not here to cause trouble. My brother is hurt. Can’t I just come to visit him as a brother?”
Although he looked serious this time rather than sinister and unruly, yet none of the bodyguards believed him.
This was because Jing Yiran had never addressed Jing Yichen as “brother” and Jing Yichen had never accepted him as his sibling. Their relationship was so badly messed up that just by saying one word, it wouldn’t drive the troubles away.
Jing Yiran wasn’t here to visit Jing Yichen because he was worried. He wished that Jing Yichen should die as soon as possible!
But he was not going to fight today either, because Jing Zhongxiu had warned him and he wouldn’t go against father’s intention.
He had come here because he wanted to see Shangguan Ning.
He didn’t know why he wanted to see her. He always wanted to see her face whenever he was in a bad mood. Even though she mocked him ruthlessly or scolded him, he would always feel better and less dispirited.
Maybe that was because she had never tried to conceal her dislike towards him but spoken her true feelings.
Jing Yiran had no idea if he liked being bullied. But he knew that Shangguan Ning could bring him peace and quietness.
After getting to know that the killer might strike again, Jing Yiran had been feeling quite anxious. At first he had thought that he was just sorry that Jing Yichen wasn’t killed but after he arrived at the hospital, he finally realized that he was worried about Shangguan Ning’s safety!
Several days ago he had delivered the recorder to Shangguan Ning because he wanted her to eat dinner with him as a reward so that he could lure her home by baiting her regarding information about Huang Liyu.
But he had failed completely. The recorder had not acted as bait enough, instead Black Wind whom he had carefully imprisoned, was also caught by Jing Yichen’s men!
He had lost the biggest bargaining chip that could have attracted Shangguan Ning’s attention.
For now, he just wanted to see Shangguan Ning and to make sure that she was well. But these people who stood in front of him were causing annoyance.
Jing Yiran had no way out and started to feel dejected, Mu Qing appeared there.
The bodyguards immediately cleared the path for him to pass.
Jing Yiran followed behind but was stopped by them.
Mu Qing turned around and looked at him. He spoke after thinking for a moment, “Let him in. He won’t dare to do anything with me around.”
No one had expected that Mu Qing would help him. Even Jing Yiran was startled.
Mu Qing was Jing Yichen’s man and had tormented him many times. But he didn’t stop him this time and even wanted to help him.
Mu Qing smiled and said, “You won’t dare to kill him, that is why I am not worried. Also, my Sister might need to ask you something.”
He said and turned around to walk into the ward.
Jing Yiran got startled for a moment and then followed in, frowning.
It was unusually quiet in the ward. The sound of the door opening woke Shangguan Ning up. She had been lying sideways on the bed. She had not slept in the past twenty four hours. Her heart had been broken after knowing the truth of her mother’s death and then by almost losing the most important man in her life. She had almost reached the end of her energy level but she was a light sleeper.
