After Jing Yichen left, Jing Zhongxiu stayed in the study for a bit, pulled out a document from the drawer and signed on it.
He walked to the small villa where Jing Yiran lived, with the document.
Jing Yiran was suffering from internal bleeding, so his chest hurt a lot. He woke up in pain every now and then. Since too much painkiller would be bad for the body and make the wound heal slower, the doctor only gave him small doses and that too when he couldn’t stand the pain any more.
When Jing Zhongxiu reached there, Jing Yiran was crying out in pain. He wanted the doctor to give him a painkiller.
“Doctor Jian, no need for the medicines. Let him make it through himself. You can go out now!”
Jing Zhongxiu sounded a bit cold, making Doctor Jian stop midway. He gathered his things, bowed to Jing Zhongxiu and left.
“Dad.” Jing Yiran let out a cry with a pale face. Then he fell into silence.
He knew that Jing Zhongxiu was not here to see how he was faring. He wasn’t yet at the edge of dying, and even when Jing Yichen had got terribly injured and almost died, what he had said to the doctor was nothing other than “try your best.”
He didn’t take any painkillers himself and it was clear that he didn’t care much about his injuries. He had always been strict towards his sons and didn’t like them crying out in pain.
As a matter of fact, Jing Yiran had suffered much less than Jing Yichen since childhood, because he was not supposed to inherit the family business. Someone was always there to help him get up when he fell and he always got fed when he was starving. Even when he shed tears, someone would come and console him.
He had once been very proud of these privileges, because he lived like a real master of a wealthy family whilst Jing Yichen had no special rights.
Jing Yichen had to stand up on his feet without help after he fell. When Jing Yichen was starving, no one prepared food for him. He even needed to make money, buy food and then cook for himself. The chef of the family was only hired after he passed the test of independent self-supporting. Therefore, Jing Yichen had been able to cook since he was very young.
Jing Yichen had never shed tears since he was a little boy. No one cared about him however much agony he went through and however much he was wounded. He was always left alone to deal with everything. At the beginning, Mo Lan was concerned about him, but soon she gave up her concern, because Jing Yichen had a strong willpower and he didn’t show any pain with that unchanged expression of his.
Therefore, Jing Yichen was able to get his stitches without anesthesia in the present time whilst Jing Yiran would cry out in pain without anesthetic or even pass out.
They possessed a huge difference in the tolerance of pain.
It was not until Jing Yiran grew up did he understand that there could be different kinds of love. Some might be strict with you because they loved you deeply whilst some might indulge you because they didn’t love you at all.
With the strong pain in the chest, fingers holding the blanket tightly and teeth firmly clenched, he tried to tolerate the pain and avoid crying out so as not to be lectured by Jing Zhongxiu.
Seeing his efforts, Jing Zhongxiu felt less displeased.
He was Jing Zhongxiu’s son and should be able to tolerate some more. Family Jing had no cowards in their stead and every man in Family Jing ought to be persistent and strong and should always stand out in any environment so as to become the winner.
He didn’t look at Jing Yiran’s wound but gave him the document and said calmly, “This is the share transfer letter of 10% shares of Jingsheng Enterprise. Sign it and they will be yours.”
10% of Jingsheng Enterprise? That meant properties worth billions. That meant that Jing Yiran could become one of the top 10 richest men in A City with the shares.
Jing Yiran took the document and frowned.
He was not pleased.
This was because Jing Zhongxiu had promised to give him half of Jingsheng Enterprise after Jing Yichen breached the regulation.
The shares of Jingsheng Enterprise were not all in the hands of Family Jing. 10% belonged to the Deputy Presidents and the other shares of Jingsheng and many of them had less than 1% of the shares. 10% belonged to grandpa Jing Tianyuan and Jing Zhongxiu had 30%. Jing Yichen, however, had the remaining 50%.
Jing Yichen had already got 10% shares at birth. After he grew up, Jing Zhongxiu gave him 10% more. After he formally took over Jingsheng Enterprise, he got 40% of the shares which were transferred by Jing Zhongxiu.
Half a year after he had taken over the position, he kept buying shares from small shareholders so that his original 40 % shares had been enhanced to 50%, making him occupy half of the entire shares of Jingsheng Enterprise.
After he was in the office for one year, grandpa Jing Tianyuan would transfer all the shares to him so that he could have 60 % shares of the enterprise, owning the absolute right of discourse in the enterprise.
“Dad, you promised to give me half of the inheritance, meaning that I would have half of the 90 % which Family Jing owns. It should be 45%, not 10%!”
10% was way too little for him to fight against Jing Yichen.
He needed more shares and money to bring down Jing Yichen and to control the entire family.
Jing Zhongxiu stared at him coldly. Humans were greedy creatures who would desire for more after tasting the sweetness. And they would crave more and more even after being given more. Only those who were able to control themselves, would be able to succeed and to guide Family Jing to move forward steadily. He felt lucky to have made such a decision that Jing Yiran was never allowed to participate in the administration of the family and not given any authorities.
He looked at Jing Yiran calmly and said with a firm tone, “I have transferred the 10 % from my own shares and that is all you can get. I promised to give you half, because you were only thinking about Family Jing. But now your mind is somewhere else and you know that better than anyone else. It is already enough that you have received 10%!”
Jing Yiran’s heart sank. His face turned extremely pale and his instincts told him that Jing Zhongxiu knew about him trying to team up with Family Ji!
Sure enough, the next minute, Jing Zhongxiu said with a cold voice, “You better know your position and get rid of the ideas that you aren’t supposed to have. Family Jing has been standing firmly for hundreds of years and no one has ever betrayed the family. You better not be the first one, or no one will be able to save you, not even grandma!”
