After Shangguan Ning gave birth to Jing Rui, many people visited her. Apart from Mo Lan who kept visiting her despite Jing Yichen’s cold face, Huang Lihan had visited her twice and Zheng Jing and Zheng Lun had been to their home many times.
Zheng Lun felt very motherly when she saw little Jing Rui. She did not want to release him.
She loved children, and Jing Rui, who had soft skin, looked lovely with his small, rosy hands and feet.
Shangguan Ning teased Zheng Lun. “Give birth to one if you like him so much!”
It was just a joke, but it made Zheng Lun flush, instantly. She could hardly utter a word.
Zheng Jing was slightly embarrassed as well, but he was much more composed than Zheng Lun and soon regained his normal expression and started playing with Jing Rui.
Seeing them together, Shangguan Ning felt that they were trying to keep a distance from each other. They had a weird expression on their faces, intimate yet trying to hide it.
Shangguan Ning shook her head. She had a feeling that she, as an outsider, could not put a hand in their affairs.
Zheng Lun was a rare girl with a kind heart. She might not be very social, but she was really talented. She was definitely going to be a good wife in the future, a gentle and virtuous one.
No wonder Zheng Jing’s heart was caught by such a gentle and beautiful girl.
However, they were in a very precarious situation where they tried to stay in the relationship as a brother and a sister.
Shangguan Ning did not have much energy to think about them. Zhao Anan was the one who worried her.
Since she could not go out during the first month of the childbirth, she asked Zhao Anan to come home every day, trying to see if Zhao Anan had some thoughts about her future with Mu Qing.
Zhao Anan did not answer her straightaway, yet she did not sound as certain as before about not wanting to marry Mu Qing.
So if she did not mention about not marrying Mu Qing, could it be that she was willing to atleast consider marrying him?
Shangguan Ning did not dare force Zhao Anan any more, in case she caused her to be rebellious again.
But Shangguan Ning had her own methods to deal with Zhao Anan, and she was nearly sure that her methods would work out.
But she needed Mu Qing to collaborate with her and also needed other people’s help. She planned to attack Zhao Anan out of sudden after she finished the first month’s confinement period.
Shangguan Ning felt very pleased with her plan. This girl had done way too much harm to the people around. Look at Mu Qing, he had lost so much weight because of her.
Also, Mu Qing had been lectured severely by Grandpa Mu since he returned. He had been removed from the position of the director of the Mu Hospital, and Mu Tong took over instead. As a result, Mu Qing had to work for Mu Tong and that humiliated him deeply and everyone at the hospital were really curious about what on earth happened to their old director.
He had been missing for half a year and when he returned, he had tanned and become skinny. On top of that, he was removed from the position of director. People guessed that Mu Qing must have made a huge mistake and was punished by the Mu Family!
Shangguan Ning felt that Mu Qing had suffered way too much just to marry Zhao Anan, so now she was going to team up with Mu Qing to deal with Zhao Anan once and for all.
Jing Yichen knew that Shangguan Ning wanted to hook Zhao Anan up with Mu Qing. But he was not paying much attention to this matter.
He paid no attention to anything or anyone apart from Shangguan Ning and Jing Rui. He asked no questions about the love affairs between Zhao Anan and Mu Qing, or Zheng Jing and Zheng Lun.
He was a distant man and showed no passion towards others’ love relationships or gossip. He had no interest in being a matchmaker.
He spent most of his energy upon work apart from caring about how much Shangguan Ning had recovered and how well Jing Rui was growing up.
He was the heir of the family, so he was burdened with work and needed to regain the shares of Jingsheng Enterprise and the declaration.
Jing Yichen was also looking for Yang Muyan apart from these tasks.
Both Yang Muyan and the declaration were gone!
This was not good news for Jing Yichen.
She might have sensed Ji Bo’s shift in allegiance and realised that Family Ji would not defend her any more.
Jing Yichen had been operating in both legal and illegal fields, but had never met any woman or even a man who was as tricky, smart and intuitive as Yang Muyan.
Yang Muyan had been hailed as a genius since she was young. She had a photographic memory apart from being intelligent. A lethal woman would cause unimaginable trouble if she attacked.
Yang Muyan was out for the blood of Family Jing. One of them had to die, and that was going to be Yang Muyan.
Jing Yichen spent half a month searching for Yang Muyan but failed. But he found a piece of unexpected news during the search of this woman – Jing Yiran was not dead!
“What did you say? Repeat!”
Jing Yichen had never been this shocked. He didn’t doubt what Tiger told him but he was finding it very hard to believe.
He had stood in front of Jing Yiran, and pulled the trigger himself. He had waited until he stopped breathing.
How was it possible that he was still alive?
It was very rare that a man could live on after the bullet went through his forehead.
Tiger also found it very incredible, but he went to check the scene after receiving the information. He described what he had seen to his boss, despite his disbelief.
“Master, I did see the Second Master! He is in the USA now. When our men were searching for Yang Muyan, we saw Lu bringing a huge suitcase to a ship. Our men saw her often enough for us to become suspicious. She kept shifting from one ship to another rather than taking the plane, and that black suitcase which she was carrying was as large as a man!”
Tiger looked very serious. He could not understand how Jing Yiran survived.
“I sent a man to the place where Lu buried the Second Master. The ash we took out turned out to be someone else’s, not Second Master’s!”
