"That is really kind of you." Yan Xiaoran couldn't help but blurt it out. The corners of her lips were tugging upward with just the image of Alexander being dragged by his grandfather while gagged.
Although she might never see that sight as Alexander might be the first person who will run to the altar and finish the vows in a second by rapping just to seal their union with a kiss.
"You don't believe me, do you?" Somei Hiroki narrowed his eyes at her but Yan Xiaoran could see the hint of playfulness in those eyes.
She shook her while a smile was playing on her lips. "Oh no. I do believe you but may I suggest tying him up with a ribbon?"
"Such a nice suggestion. I'll definitely keep that in mind." Somei Hiroki commented, matching her smile before breaking out into laughter.
Their laughter took the attention of the other clients in the salon. But both didn't care as they continued to laugh and talk about some other things.
With their nails done, Yan Xiaoran got in the car with Alexander's grandfather. She had to leave her own car in a parking lot while she had hop inside his car.
There were only three of them inside it. Both Somei Hiroki and Yan Xiaoran was seated at the passenger seat while a man in a dark suit was seated on the driver's seat.
She didn't mind going along with Alexander's grandfather as she felt no dark intentions from him. He seemed like a fun person to be with and considering how he could bring out another side of her husband, Yan Xiaoran felt compelled to go with him and know more about her husband from the people who were precious to him.
And she didn't have to use a threat or held them in gunpoint to make him talk as Somei Hiroki didn't hold his tongue to speak.
"That boy is just unruly and rude! His arrogance is as high as Mount Parnassus and he turned deaf whenever I tell him to let some people go or help them! Imagine dealing with an Overlord like that every day. I can only sing my praises towards the people who had to face him."
Of course, Yan Xiaoran didn't stop him and let him pour his grievances to her. The more, the better she can understand what kind of a man was her husband towards other people.
And she was glad to know that he only treats her best.
"Little lamb, are you sure you want to go through marrying that blockard of a grandson of mine? You might regret it." Somei Hiroki finally expressed his concern.
He could tell that Yan Xiaoran was an elegant and classy lady with a kind heart with just one look. And it hurts him to see her facing the same hollowed world that Alexander was living.
Having been reminded with his word, Yan Xiaoran instantly smiled. "I think I'm far too involved with him to regret it. Besides, we're already married."
Silence descended in the room
Another second passed filled with silence.
More silence.
"Mr. Somei?" Yan Xiaoran called out when the old man seated next to her didn't reply. He looked like he needed to buffer for him to absorb this information.
Yan Xiaoran didn't mention this to him earlier and didn't try to correct him when he said that Alexander and she was living partners.
Playing along with him seemed to be so much fun.
"Mr. Somei? Are you alright?" She asked once again before she saw the old man's shoulders shaking.
Startled, Yan Xiaoran didn't know what to do. Is he crying? Has her joke gone too far?
But then, she heard him say in a hoarse voice.
"Such a big event and yet, you young ones chose to hide it from me."
Yan Xiaoran opened her mouth but close it again. It wasn't really her fault that he didn't get to know about this fact since it seems like her husband forgot to inform his family about his marriage. Perhaps, it was because he was too excited to sign their marriage certificates and didn't have time to think of anything else.
Somei Hiroki continued to bawl like a child. The driver in front seemed to wish he could exchange occupation with the waterboy than having to witness the old man crying like a child.
It wasn't his first time seeing his old boss acting this way since he would always act like this around his children and grandchildren. However, it was still great to feel and react like it was the first time he saw him like this.
"Are you going to hide your children from me too?" Somei Hiroki's question threw her off.
Children? She hadn't thought of it that far. Was she ready to be a mother? She shuddered at the thought of it as she remembered her mother's face smiling down at her.
She didn't know if she was ready to have one or several of these ear-splitting little creatures but if Alexander wanted to, maybe she could reconsider it.
"Little lamb, are you alright? You keep on slipping into a daze." Yan Xiaoran's focus turned back after hearing the old man say this to her.
She nodded her head and said, "I am alright."
She looked away and saw that the car stopped in front of an airport. Her eyes widened at the sight of it and looked at the old man who grinned at her.
"Why are you looking at me like I'm about to kidnap you?"
"…you're not?" She creased her eyebrows.
Winking at her, Somei Hiroki said, "Don't look so disappointed. I may look old but I still want to keep living and see my grandson's children. Besides, I doubt Alexander would like the idea of me kidnapping you."
As if on cue, a knock came from the glass window of the car and from behind Yan Xiaoran.
She turned immediately and saw her husband standing outside the car.
