Reese was in a daze. She looked at the person in front of her who was yelling her name with a worried expression, but she could not respond.
Although the person was calling out for her, the occasional flashes of impatience in his blue eyes made her feel irritated. Before she knew it, she had reached out and pushed him, trying to escape from this man.
Reese was helpless as she felt even worse after leaving the room. There was something pent-up within her but she couldn’t find an outlet to vent, so she could only grimace. Standing on the second floor, she looked down at the men and women in fancy clothes who were being excessively noisy. Her eyes searched for a route as she tried to find a way to escape through the crowd.
Unfortunately, fate had other plans for her.
Everyone was watching her from the moment she appeared; the girl who was about to be engaged today. Reese Tate.
Suddenly, she began to lose sensation in her body. She trembled as she tried to resist the discomfort in her body, but ultimately failed.
She still had her usual docile demeanor, but her face suddenly flashed a murderous look. In an instant, she seemed like a completely different person.
“Help, Reese has gone mad!” A voice came from behind her.
With much difficulty, she turned around. It was that person; his usual gentle expression was gone and there was a smirk on his face. “Quick, stop her!”
Whatever happened after that, Reese had no idea. The pain had taken over and everything turned black.
When she woke up, the first thing she heard was her mother crying. “What should I do? My child…”
A male voice consoled her gently. “Mom, now that Reese and I are engaged, you can think of me as your child too…”
Herbert…
Reese recognized this name. Somehow, she felt that this man, who had always treated her kindly, seemed… different now.
But she had no strength to speak, or even to simply open her eyes.
“The test results are out, and Ms Tate is indeed suffering from an extremely severe case of mania. As per the regulations, she will be sent away for treatment.” The electronic male voice sounded stiff and cold.
Upon hearing this, Reese became very agitated. She struggled to say something, but it took too much energy and she fainted once more.
When she woke up again, all she saw was a scene of stark white.
This place was in fact probably the most stringent psychiatric hospital in the galaxy and was supposedly where the most severely ill mental patients of all races were kept and managed together.
As an aspiring doctor, Reese’s greatest desire was to become a doctor for everyone, regardless of race. This would actually have been a great place for her internship, but sadly, she was now here as a patient.
She felt a wave of despair. The discomfort in her body had subsided, but before she had time to be afraid, a werebear nurse had come to her bedside to examine her for the hospital admission.
Reese looked at this werebear nurse; she clearly looked capable of suppressing any manic patient by force. She still had her pair of furry ears on her head, but she otherwise looked rather human. Although she didn’t seem too fierce, Reese did not intend to try her luck, so she could only follow every step of the nurse’s orders as she was being examined.
In the distance, King had just finished patrolling the wards and walked briskly along the corridor, preparing to return to his office. He was dressed in pristine white; his doctor’s uniform. The uniform for doctors here was different from the white lab coats elsewhere—it looked more like a military uniform. King walked assuredly through the strictly regulated psychiatric hospital. He stayed expressionless while doctors and nurses bowed and greeted as they walked past him. It was clear that he was a figure not to be trifled with.
Just as King was walking past the examination room, he felt something strange within his body. This was a sensation that he hadn’t felt in the past twenty years or so. It was as if every cell in his body had come alive and threatened to burst through his skin.
Such excitement felt very peculiar. Although it was a little overwhelming, King didn’t hate it. Instead, he wanted to seek out the source of it.
Hence, he followed the trail which aroused this strange sensation in him and finally stopped at the door of the examination room. He looked in and spotted the female human.
As per the procedure, the werebear nurse was in the process of removing all accessories on the human. Although Reese had been cooperative so far, she was now hesitating as she realized that the nurse would soon be taking away the necklace that her mother had repeatedly instructed to keep safely with her at all times ever since she was young.
As she resisted the big, strong werebear nurse with her frail and skinny frame, Reese did indeed look somewhat like a manic patient.
King was intrigued. Wrapped in a spotless white glove, his hand pushed open the door and he walked in, asking the nurse about the situation.
“This is a new patient that had just been admitted, with a case of manic disorder. She’s being checked in.”
King nodded and ordered, “I understand. You can go out, I’ll do the rest.”
“But, that’s against protocol—”
King maintained a good temper. He stuffed his hands into his pockets and said, “More sophisticated tests will need to be carried out soon. It’s better for me to handle this.”
Convinced, the werebear nurse put down the items. King stepped aside to give her a wide berth as he did not want to come into contact with this werebeast nurse.
However, despite the nurse’s departure, things did not brighten for Reese in the cramped examination room. Instead, it seemed even grimmer because the male doctor was now walking towards her.
In the narrow room, King looked at the female human in front of him. As she had just been examined, her hospital gown was a little messy, and her blond hair hung loosely behind her shoulders, with a few loose curls in front, making the green-eyed female look even weaker…
And even more enticing.
Before he knew it, King’s breathing had become heavier. His wildly beating heart was telling him how special this woman was, such that even an ordinary emotion like fear, emanated her pure and feminine scent. He was tempted to take a step closer.
“Don’t be afraid, I’m a doctor. I’ll carry on with the examination from here.”
King, who was usually calm and taciturn, was attempting to comfort Reese, but the words that came out of his mouth were useless and sounded more like reassurance for himself.
Reese was evidently even more frightened upon hearing what he said.
This burly doctor in front of her looked human, with dark hair, black pupils, and a particularly distinctive demeanor, even when he simply stood without saying a word. However, he was a “human” who could intimidate even the werebeast nurse of the bear species into leaving the room meekly, so he was probably more than what met the eye. Reese somehow had a feeling that he was much more dangerous than the nurse.
At the very least, the nurse was wearing a nurse’s uniform. On the other hand, this person in front of her had deep, dark eyes, and was breathing rapidly. While he looked calm, he also seemed to be struggling to restrain himself at the same time. In a stark white military uniform, with white gloves and black boots, he looked very professional and didn’t seem to be a low-ranking staff member. Furthermore, his tall stature against the light made Reese feel even more trapped and alarmed.
Upon merely two steps forward and just a little closer to the source of the temptation, King felt the blood in his body rush, gushing downwards and slowly condensing in a particular area.
An awkward spot.
Usually rather cold and aloof, King had always been able to control his desires and almost never lost control of that zone. This was probably the first time that it happened. He wasn’t thinking with his mind. Somewhere, a little guy raised its head and greeted the lady in front of him who looked like she was about to burst into tears, showing complete disregard for the inappropriate timing of its appearance.
What alarmed King even more was that his muscles were now expanding continuously in the presence of this woman, and he felt a transformation awakening in him, threatening to expose the truth of his bloodline, one which he had been able to keep concealed so well thus far.
But at this moment, his brain had already left the building; he didn’t care if this person in front of him was a mess from sobbing and sniffling. He was led only by his impulses. Removing his gloves, he wanted to have physical contact with her.
A pair of rough hands caressed Reese’s cheek.
One person frowned, the other relished.
Not enough. There was a voice in King’s heart screaming, “Go on, go even further!”
Reese had never experienced such a situation before.
The tall man in front of her seemed to be under a spell as he continued to move towards her and pressed her against the wall until she had no more room to retreat.
“Please, let me go!”
Her trembling voice only hooked King’s soul further. Right now, all he wanted was to tear into this woman and taste her.
That was what he thought, and that was what he did.
With a loud rip, Reese’s hospital gown was torn apart, leaving only a few pieces of cloth clinging on.
King looked at this woman in front of him. Underneath her delicate face was a voluptuous body. It had curves in all the right places, and her skin glowed in the dim room, beckoning him to do terrible things.
He leaned forward and before she could react, he pried open her mouth. Although he did not have experience, his instincts took over the moment his lips came into contact with hers, and he was immediately tonguing her uvula.
He used one hand to hold Reese’s head in place as he kissed her, while his other hand slid down from her face to her neck and down to her collarbone. Next was a hill with a pink tip, which he gently caressed before continuing down eagerly. His hands then moved across her smooth, flat abdomen and the small knob further down, before exploring into her secret garden..
