Chapter 143: Cheered In Happiness

Few hours back

After Samantha and Bill pinned the old woman to the wall. In one swift motion, Samantha slit the woman's throat but left the card there.

"What are you doing?" Bill got confused at her action as she didn't kill the old woman.

"Is the camera set, dad?"

"Yes"

"Let's go then" Samantha headed towards the exit and Bill looked at the old woman who widened her eyes in shock when she heard them leaving. She was trying her best to make some noise and to ask for help but Samantha slit her throat so perfectly, the woman couldn't make a single noise.

"Sam, you didn't kill her yet" Bill was not sure if she is realizing it or not.

"Yes dad, this is it. I don't intend to kill her" Samantha declared.

"Are you out of your mind?" Bill softly shouted at her, as he had no idea what was going on in his daughter's mind.

"What was the purpose of this trip and this mission if we are not going to kill her? You are confusing me, Samantha"

Samantha just coldly smiled and stepped towards her dad; she could understand why he was so anxious right now. He won't be able to understand her plan by himself, she had to explain her thought process.

"Dad, can she be saved?" Samantha asked her dad.

Bill looked at the old woman and said, "Yeah, if…" Then he paused as he realized what Samantha did.

"Fuck, are you planning to let this old woman die in her own son's hand?" Bill just realized what Samantha intended to do to this woman. 

There was a good chance of this old woman being alive for a few more hours as the blood won't be oozed out of her body because of the card. Which meant when Excalibur would be here, he would see his mother's state while she being alive.

Seeing his own mother in pain, he himself would let her go from this world.

"What have you turned into?" Bill couldn't help but exclaim.

"That's why I asked you to install this small camera here. I want to see him killing his own mother. Let's leave dad"

Bill helplessly shook his head and the two people left from there and drove towards the airport as they already packed everything.

Their flight was scheduled in the next two hours. On the way, they got rid of their disguises and the proofs. Then just like other normal tourists they went to the airport.

It was 8 am in San Diego when Chance's phone rang.

He was already awake, as Samantha and Bill were coming back in two hours. He planned to receive them at the airport and from afternoon he will go to office. 

Right now, he was in the gym he recently joined.

He was surprised when he received David's call.

"Early morning call?" Chance smiled, answering the call while exercising on a tread mill.

"Dude, there is a big twist" David worriedly announced.

"What big twist?" Chance chuckled as David sounded excited.

"Excalibur is still alive"

"What?" Chance was shocked and he turned off the tread mill and stepped aside to a more private place.

"What nonsense are you spouting? Samantha already boarded the flight to San Diego, she messaged me. Why would she board the flight if her mission is not complete?" Chance questioned David.

Miami and New York are three hours ahead of San Diego. If it was 11 am in New York and Miami then it is 8 am in San Diego. So, while Chance was sleeping at 4 am, Samantha already messaged him that she boarded the flight, which was at 7 am for her.

"Dude, I am confused too and the bad news is Excalibur contacted our main office. The number to that office is available with only a few of our people. He had that number and he contacted us."

"Why the fuck did he contact us?" Chance had a bad feeling about it.

"He was asking information on The Exterminator. He gave us 24 hours to get him all the information on him." David informed Chance of every information he had about this call.

"Did he say anything else?" 

"Nothing, he just told this much and cut the call"

"Did he claim himself to be Excalibur or you are assuming it is him?"

"He himself informed us"

"What the fuck. You think Danger-Ace failed at her mission?" Chance couldn't believe what just happened as The Exterminator too was with her.

"I don't think so. But this is very confusing" David shared his thoughts with Chance.

"You think someone is pretending to be Excalibur to contact us?" Chance thought of another possibility as he can't believe Samantha and Bill would fail at killing Sarah's killer.

"Well, that is a possibility too. I called you as soon as I got to know about it" David honestly informed him that he didn't verify who it was.

"Hmm, see if you can find any more information. I'll call you later after talking to Bill"

"Yeah, okay"

David then started digging deeper and Chance wondered what happened in Miami. He only wished Bill and Samantha to be back home safe.

After a while, Chance drove to the airport anxiously. He was waiting at the arrivals and was expecting to see a sad and a disheartened Samantha but what he saw was a happy looking woman, who looked like she just came from a good holiday.

When Samantha saw Chance at the arrivals, she tightly hugged him, "I missed you so much" she confessed.

Chance was even more confused at her reaction, he wondered if she is aware of Excalibur being alive or not. 

The thoughts like she mistook someone else for Excalibur and killed them instead too cropped in Chance's mind but that was not possible as he sent them many pictures of Excalibur. Nothing should have gone wrong with this mission.

"Chance?" Samantha called him and broke the hug.

"Yeah?"

"I missed you so much. When I said this, shouldn't you respond with a I missed you too?" She smiled at him brightly.

"Yeah, right but when I had you in my arms, I was so happily lost in you, I couldn't say anything else" 

"Nonsense, I am sure you didn't miss me at all."

"You were literally gone for less than 48 hours, so, I didn't get a lot of time to miss you."

"How cruel are you?" 

"Where is your dad?" Chance looked around but couldn't find Bill and this worried him.

"He went to the washroom. He will be here soon"

Once Bill was back, Chance was relieved and they all headed to Bill's house as Samantha informed Chance that she would spend some time with her dad.

After dropping them home, Chance went back to his office. He decided to talk to Bill later.

At Bill's house

Samantha and Bill set-up the system so that they can watch what happened with Excalibur's mother after they left.

After setting up everything, they turned on the laptop, and watched how Excalibur's mother was discovered by other people. Then they saw Excalibur who entered the room and broke down seeing his mom's state.

Excalibur's reaction when he looked at his mom's state, gave immense satisfaction to Samantha and Bill who were glad their plan worked.

The moment Bill pulled that Ace Card himself, Samantha and Bill cheered in happiness.

After watching everything they both were glad that what they wanted successfully happened.

"Dad, let's get rid of this system and disconnect that camera" 

"Already on it" Bill confirmed.

"Dad, I wonder what Excalibur must be doing right now, any thoughts on it?" Samantha wondered and leaned back on the couch.

"I am sure, he must be crying at his mother's grave and thinking of ways to commit suicide, maybe?" Bill had a huge grin on his face.

When Samantha suggested this idea of killing Excalibur's mother instead of him, Bill had a few issues with it but after looking at Excalibur's reaction, he was feeling much better. He was glad he agreed to Samantha's suggestion.

Later, Samantha bid adieu to Bill and headed to her home as she was planning to go to the florist shop after a while.

In the evening, after Chance was done with his work, he checked with Samantha and she was still at her florist shop. He therefore headed to Bill's place.

Bill was surprised to see Chance there.

"Did something happen?" Bill questioned Chance as he was clearly worried.

"Excalibur contacted us after a very long time" Chance directly came on point.

"So?"

"To find information on you" Chance seriously informed him.

Bill smiled, "I didn't expect him to figure it out so soon. I am impressed." 

"Can you please explain what the hell is going on? Why the fuck is he alive? Wasn't he supposed to be dead by now? Also, what is with Sam's reaction, she looks happy?" Chance shot back-to-back questions at him.
