Chapter 2452 A War Without Guns and Fire (3)

“Liu Ze…?” This name sounded familiar to Huo Mian, but it had been a long time since someone mentioned it to her and she could not recall who it was.

“I knew you would have forgotten… We used to call him Liu Haotian, but he’s called Liu Ze now. His father used to be the Deputy Director of the Education Bureau…” Han Xu reminded her.

“Oh, it’s him…” Huo Mian slowly recalled that there was such a person.

“Yeah. You might not know him well. He transferred out in grade 11 and only stayed in our class for one semester. He has been moving a lot so many of our classmates don’t remember him either. He’s doing great though. Apparently, he has a medical Ph.D. from Cambridge University. I think he’s working at some research entity that develops medicine. He’s amazing too!”

“Really?” Huo Mian usually had no interest in people who she did not know well, so even though Han Xu was enthusiastically talking about Liu Ze, her reaction was still plain.

“Yeah. He said you left him with a deep impression and recalled how you were a rare prodigy at our school. We met a few days ago and I mentioned to him that you worked at South Side. Now he really wants to see you so he begged me to ask you to come…”

“Oh… Is the time set yet? I need to see if I have any scheduled surgeries,” Huo Mian asked.

This Saturday at 6 PM at Clear Water Pavilion, which is on top of Southern Ocean Pavilion,” Han Xu responded.

Huo Mian flipped her desk calendar to check. “Okay, I got it. I don’t have any surgeries and I’m not on duty that day, so I’ll go. I don’t know if my husband has time though. You know, we have two kids now and things get a bit messy.”

“I understand. I’ll be very happy even if only one of you two come. Thank you so much.” Han Xu seemed pleased with her response.

Huo Mian got off work. After dinner, the twins were playing in the backyard with their grandparents. Huo Mian and Qin Chu were still sitting by the dinner table, eating and chatting.

“I’m jealous of those people. They seem to have nothing to do and so much free time. How can they have reunions every day?” Qin Chu said calmly.

“Hahaha. There aren’t that many people as busy as us, you know? You do know we’re workaholics and we’re a rare species.”

“If you want to go, you can go. I’m not going. I booked a lesson with a figure skating coach for Little Bean and Pudding for the weekend. I’m going to take them to the skating arena.”

“Okay. You’re such a good father. You only care about your daughters,” Huo Mian said as she continued to eat.

“Is someone jealous?” Qin Chu looked at her with a smile on his face.

“Who dares to be jealous?” Huo Mian pouted, looking like someone wronged her.

“Then why do I see that someone is getting very angry?” Qin Chu asked and intentionally looked down at the table.

“It doesn’t matter if I’m angry or not, my husband is a super dad.”

“Okay. In order to prove that I love you too, I’ve decided to…” Qin Chu suddenly paused.

“What have you decided to do?” Huo Mian looked curiously at Qin Chu.

“I’ve decided that we’re going to unlock some new positions to nurture my lovely wife…”

“Oh, how great?! My husband sure is willing to sacrifice for me… He’s already busy at work during the day and now he needs to be busy at home at night too? I can’t do that to you…” Huo Mian looked at him with a grin.

“That’s alright. As long as my wife is happy, I don’t mind being a bit tired and doing most of the work…” Qin Chu said indiscreetly.

“I have determined that you’re a pervert… Case closed,” Huo Mian said with a chuckle.

-The next morning –

Huo Mian had finished her morning meetings at South Side. Just when she was walking back to her office, Chen Jie suddenly said to her in a deep voice, “Sis, Huo Siqian’s here.”

“Where?”

“He’s in your office waiting for you. I think he came here just to see you. Do you want me to find some excuse to make him leave?” Chen Jie knew that Huo Mian detested Huo Siqian so she suggested such a plan to help.
