Chapter 236: Strength of a demigod magic beast!

Lucien took a deep breath as his stomach expanded revealing blinding blue light, before. Moving all the way to his expanded neck.

AZURE BLUE DRAGON ROAR!

Lucien cried as he spat out a powerful beam of bright blue flames, surging forward dangerously!

"KILL! DIVINE RETRIBUTION!" Derik would not let such an opportunity slide and he proceeded to launch his attack.

The massive divine broadsword let out a loud cry before descending on the ant queen like the divine judgment of the gods! Combined with the powerful blue beam of flame released by Lucien, the explosion was massive, spreading so fast that Lucien couldn't react against it.

He just watched the bright light spreading fast, almost reaching him but then he felt an arm reach for his shoulder.

The next instant, Lucien found himself standing just below the clouds, gazing at the land surrounding the ant pit cave in. At first, he was stunned by the level of destruction they caused by launching attacks together but now wasn't the time to focus on minor thoughts like that.

"You know spatial magic?" Lucien couldn't help but ask Derik who was standing airborne beside him.

"I have killed millions... Amongst many I have come against, there is my successor Blink... He was the most talented spatial mage to ever grace that world... I possess his power" Derik said indifferently with a large frown on his face.

"Mhmm!" Lucien nodded to show he understood the situation and didn't talk anymore. He could see there was no notification, showing they have killed the ant queen so he guessed it was still down there.

Judging based on the frown on Derik's face it was obvious, Derik knew this as well. All that still wasn't enough to kill this emperor tier magic beast. If the king tier magic beast rupture, reaches this level will it be this strong? How powerful will it's be by that time?

Lucien's body shuddered as a powerful shockwave erupted from the pit and a golden figure shut it!

Its body size was the same as that of a human adult, over six feet tall, with a curvy golden body, two arms, and three pairs of golden insect wings.

The queen shot out of the hole and gazed at the two with her fierce murderous eyes. Her antennas shivered and moved as she realized Derik's eyes were letting out a bright golden light!

Whoosh!

The massive golden divine sword shot out of the ground, hacking at her recklessly from below!

"Your methods are ineffective!" the ant queen said as she didn't attempt to dodge, instead she stretched her hand forward and cut the massive golden broadsword!

"You think too highly of yourself!" Derik's eyes let out a fierce golden glow.

"Fill the skies, shatter the heavens!" Derek growled as he grabbed the void and pulled

The massive great broadsword suddenly doubled in size and power making the ant Queen frown! She seemed to be caught off guard by the sudden change in strength and the next moment she was blown away violently but Derik's attack!

"Still didn't go through?" Derik frowned when he noticed she was pushed back but not hurt.

He was about to make a move but then a blue blur shot past him, smashing into the golden ant queen!

"DIE!" Lucien growled as he launched flurries of punches and the enemy reacted by throwing her hands forward in retaliation!

The two figures levitated in the air striking each other so rapidly that their hands could not be seen but even the none of them sustained any damage!

"Sure enough the toughness of their armors is incredible... I may not even be able to compare to them!" Derik said with a bitter smile.

The ant queen refused to retreat and kept engaging Lucien in a fistfight! In a second both sides had already exchanged over a hundred blows but none retreated. As they fought the ant queen realized how dangerous Lucien's dragon inheritance is. As they kept fighting she could feel his aura rising constantly and his punches getting heavier. His breathing got heavier and if looked at closely, his dragon scales thickened and got even stronger! In a prolonged battle like this, no matter how long she can hold out, she will be defeated in the end.

To counter such a tricky ability one has to retreat and break the enemies attacking intervals. That way his power growth will be shaky and eventually crumble!

WHOOSH!

With a single step back, she quickly distanced herself from Lucien but this was not what she expected! Not only did Lucien fail to pursue her, but Derik was also already behind waiting! His eyes revealed a crystal clear light and his aura was calm and stable!

"Moon magic: three moon sealing formation!" Derik growled while clasping his hands together!

The cloud parted as three gray moons appeared from the sky, surrounding the ant queen immediately! As she was surrounded she tried to move but found it quite difficult but even then she did not panic!

She watched as the three moons gathered from the sides, trying to crush her at the center and for the first time the indifference in her face vanished and a cruel smile appeared.

"You humans think you can win with petty tricks? I didn't get this far just to be defeated by two spirit realm kids!" The ant queen was finally angry and she quickly pulled back her hands, head, and legs into what seemed like a golden shell at the center!

Whoosh!

The shell began spinning rapidly, creating a powerful tornado in a single breath, disrupting the formation of the three moons!

Seeing they were about to be dragged in by this power, Derik and Lucien reinforced themselves with their aura, preventing them from getting pulled easily. Their eyes revealed killing lights as they both made their lives at the same time!

" Devour!" Derik growled as a black whirlpool suddenly opened within the massive tornado sucking it in greedily! His actions created a hole in the tornado, giving Lucien the opening he needed!

"PHOENIX FLAMES: INCINERATE!" Lucien growled as he released a Phoenix-shaped flame, charging towards the golden shell within the storm.

Thanks to the hole created by Derik, he got a perfect strike, and with the powerful suction force of the devour, even the ant queen was reluctant to make a foolish move!

BURN AWAY!

Derik and Lucien screamed as the Phoenix flame slammed into the golden shell and it caught fire. Knowing the true power of the Phoenix flame, Derik and Lucien knew the battle has been won since this emperor tier beast will just keep burning until it is reduced to dust, all they need to do now is focus on the defense!

Or so they thought!

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Pearls of laughter filled the air as the golden shell fell off, revealing the original black armor of the ant queen!

"For a moment there you had me worried over nothing... I once fought a beast-man who had this ability... He fought well but was ultimately overwhelmed by my power... He could only flee... We the magic ant race are not easily dealt with!" The ant queen said, making Derik and Lucien frown.

"Things are only this difficult because we can't afford to damage her soul... You are the reason this bug dares to stand here and talk to us in this manner" Lucien complained, leaving the ant queen confused.

In just a moment, the tense atmosphere of the battle was gone. How can these people be so carefree when going against a powerhouse like her?

Did they know she is only a step away from becoming one of the divine God beasts that rule this world now?

If she achieves this, she can create a whole new race of human and ant combinations just like the magic beasts did w7th the humans! She will become a pioneer like them!

"That's not true... Well, it is but not completely true..." Derik said while shamefully avoiding eye contact with the annoyed Lucien.

Lucien's martial techniques allow him to attack the soul directly and that has been his trump card all this while but if he should damage the soul of this emperor tier beast, he may gain the powers through his beast assimilation but Derik won't be able to consume the soul since it's destroyed.

He was trying to make it a win-win situation for both of them and that has only brought insults and disrespect from the other side!

"Don't forget it is a demigod and its soul is at that level too... Even I will have some problems when trying to consume and subdue such soul if I had the soul of a mortal... I doubt your soul attacks will have that much effect on it anyway" Derik tried to defend himself making Lucien frown even more but leaving the ant Queen alarmed!

Did they just say soul attacks?

Her shell may be hard but her soul is lacking that defense! She may have a demigod soul which can withstand a lot but constant damage will not only affect her negatively but may also cripple her cultivation!

These two are more dangerous than she thought!
