Chapter 147: First alliance

Name:My beast Emperor System Author:Riviz
Lucien decided not to waste any more time on unnecessary things. For some reason, he felt like he is running out of time and there is little or nothing he can do about it. His eyes were like two bright balls of lights as he wore the azure blue dragon mask and put on his usual, sleeveless silver mage robe with the blue dragon design, signifying the Rakuzen clan. Apart from him, it is yet to welcome anyone else into the fold that is worthy of wearing this with him.

"Do you plan to stay out there and keep peeping?" Lucien said casually as his black, hollow eyes released a bright silver light, startling Alice who was peeping through the door.

"I am sorry, I couldn't…" Alice immediately walked in and tried to apologize but Lucien cut her short halfway since it is irrelevant to him.

"You don't have to worry about little matters… Just knock and walk in next time… As my advisor, you will be spending most of your time by my side" Lucien said with a warm voice but his eyes within the mask were cold and scary, which made Alice find it hard to believe his words.

"Can you take off the mask? It looks scary and it gives everyone a bad impression of you… I think you should only wear this on the battlefield or in front of enemies" Alice said shyly as she tried as much as possible not to make eye contact with Lucien.

She expected Lucien to reject or hesitate a bit but what happened next left her stunned.

"I guess so… Since you say so, I will definitely give it a try" Lucien said casually as he pulled the mask off his face before turning his attention to Alice.

"Take me to the Lightborn family territory… I think it's time we make things official" Lucien added with a light smile.

Alice's face turned red as she almost ran out of the room after nodding and Lucien could only follow her closely with a smile on his face.

The duo took a carriage to the clan borders and there they took the teleportation array and vanished.

In less than a minute, they were teleported to the city of Regis, one of the few territories under the Lightborn clan. Not only was this city smaller than his Bradford city, but it was nowhere near it in terms of comparison.

"Don't think too little of my clan… this is just one of the fifteen cities under the Lightborn clan…" Alice said the moment she noticed Lucien's disappointed look.

Hearing this, Lucien's eyes widened with surprise as he turned to look at Alice. As someone who had never been interested in things like this from the start, Lucien knows too little about life as a noble. He knows nothing about the politics of the empire and can only rely on his strength. When he got his own territory and was forced to carter for it, Lucidn felt like a massive burden was placed on his shoulder, preventing him from doing a lot of things. He knew the stress of governing one city but now he heard the Lightborn clan had over fifteen cities, he couldn't help but wonder how these people manage to govern all of them.

"How do you guys manage to govern fifteen cities?" Lucien asked with sincere curiosity.

Seeing Lucien curious for the first time since she met him, Alice felt proud that it was the Lightborn family greatness that could get his interest.

"Family… Throughout bloodlines..... The right to govern cities is given to those who perform well… so the entire Lightborn territory is governed by the younger generations and watched over by the old monsters of the clan… I believe it is necessary for you to settle down as a clan head and have offspring of your own..." Alice said the last part with a reddened face.

While she was embarrassed, Lucien frowned. He had completely forgotten about his impotence, due to the side effects of getting the system but now Alice spoke about having an offspring, Lucien felt bad. It simply meant that he could not have a direct descendant that can take over from him.

[The divinity and authority of a god is not something a mortal body can handle…. Cultivators grow impotent as they get stronger, that way gods are prevented from inbreeding which will result in the creation of beings almost equal to gods with the divinity and authority of both parents… You carry my divinity and authority, therefore you cannot reproduce… I am sorry, Lucien] Rakuzen said in his head the moment he realized Lucien was feeling down.

Who wouldn't want a child of his own?

Who wouldn't want to be a father?

Even someone like Lucien has such urges and that's why he felt bad, almost like he lost something or someone important. Alice who was blushing soon looked to the side, only to see Lucien frowning, quickly tried to explain what she meant.

"Don't get me wrong… A war between us and the Libet empire is about to start and as a noble, you will be sent into the frontlines… The chances of you dying are high, so even if something happens, you can have someone to take over your position and keep the family name going" Alice explained but even that didn't seem to calm Lucien down.

"The grade 1 sealed artifact I got has a drawback just like other sealed artifacts… It prevents me from having a child … So you don't think too much about it" Lucien said calmly but Alice couldn't hide her shock.

She promptly remembered the previous night, she couldn't remember whether Lucien pulled out or not but it seems it didn't matter. For some reason, she couldn't help but feel bad. She didn't know she was feeling bad but she could tell it wasn't for Lucien but herself.

Yes! It is very bad news when you realize that the person you love cannot give you a child. She turned to look at Lucien and noticed the pained expression on his face so she chose not to speak anymore and let everything die down.

------------------------------------

The rest of the journey was uneventful since they barely spoke and with the help of Alice's identity as a member of the Lightborn main branch family, it was easy for them to reach the light palace, home to the true bloodline of the Lightborn family.

The castle was just as big as Lucien's home with so many formations, Lucien strongly believed he was only slightly better than it. Entering the grand hall of the castle, Lucien was welcomed by the important figures of the powerful clan, making Lucien believe that these people were aware of his coming. They even organized a grand feast and since Lucien cut his breakfast short halfway, he could finally fill his belly with good meat.

During the feast everyone watched Lucien eat and converse casually with Alice, sometimes he would laugh heartily at her jokes and she laughed at his too. This made them happy since they believed the better his relationship with Alice, the more likely he is to comply with their offer.

"A toast, to one of the brightest stars of the Fotia empire! He appeared into this world and took the entire continent by storm! The only warrior realm expert who is known to have fought a spirit realm master with fifty strong men and single-handedly killed them all! A toast to Lucien Rakuzen!" A massive man who was at least 7ft tall, with a thick golden mustache and bright golden eye said with a deep voice and a jug of wine in his hand.

"You give me too much credit… My city defenses did at least fifty percent of the job…" Lucien said modestly.

"Rubbish! Do you dare deny that you would win against Zhao Li even without those pesky magic towers of yours?" The man asked with a raised eyebrow. This time those listening, knew this wasn't a joke, instead, the Lightborn clan patriarchy was trying to have a rough idea of how strong Lucien is.

"Naturally… Even though I am confident I can take down spirit realm masters, it doesn't mean I will leave the battle unscathed… If I were to fight a fighter type or a mage, I will most likely win but end up with serious injuries… that I am sure of" Lucien said calmly and the man nodded in approval.

As long as Lucien can stand his own against a spirit realm master then he is qualified to sit and eat with him at the same table.

"I am sure my granddaughter has offered you a spot as one of the Lightborn family allies…. I can assure you, if you submit, we will treat you well!" The large man laughed but Lucien's smile froze and turned into a sneer.

"I never agreed to work for the Lightborn family… The Rakuzen clan will only work with the Lightborn family as equals!" Lucien declared boldly.

The hearts of everyone present skipped a beat as they felt a tremendous aura exploding from the huge man but even then Lucien wasn't fazed. His eyes let out a rainbow color as his aura exploded, violently shattering his seat, but he remained seated in mid-air!

"Make your move, if you think I lack the strength!" Lucien sneered!
