Chapter 1：A Crown Prince

"Long live the prince!

long live the ..."

My head was full of their applause, their voices cause me a headache. I really want to go back to my room. However, I took a deep breath to calm and stood up honorably for this day, saying loudly and clearly "starting from this day as a crown prince, I will lead the kingdom into prosperity and glory".

The expression of the people were delighted after hearing what I said before and their screams were louder than before.

I closed my eyes and sit down quickly. My father, the king, was sitting beside me. He looked also pleased that I took the initiative and the courage to stand up in front of many people.

"You did very well my son!" says my father excitedly.

"Thank you, Father."

"You know that the job of the crown prince is very important to the country."

"Yes father, I know." I said blankly.

Father was silent for a moment, but then he says something shortly afterwards "well let us enjoy today's banquet!"

Father stood up and goes away to enjoy the banquet with the nobles.

I remained at my seat thinking about what happen in the last month. It was full of sudden surprises for me and I can't ever imagined that I went through them. The sudden disappearance of my twin brother causes a stir in the kingdom. Everyone was in shock! He disappeared right before becoming the crown prince! Soon after that incident, my father told me to take his place until he finds him, and here I am standing in his place until my twin brother comes back alive, hopefully. I did tell my father that I want to find my twin brother also and he agreed.

Fortunately, everyone thinks that I am my twin brother who comes back after his disappearance. I don't think that the guests here knows about my real identity and I think that no one knows that my brother has a twin, which makes me slightly relaxed.

"Mmmm ... Hello?"

"Can you move your face away" I said unexpectedly.

"Ohh I am sorry! I thought you were asleep. I didn't know you were awake" she says shyly.

She pauses for a moment. While she was silent, she was averting her eyes away from me, then she looks back at me in a moment, and then averting her eyes again. I can see that she is nervous and shy as well trying to come up with a topic to talk to me.

I tried to remember who she is. Did father show me a picture of her or not? Is she an important individual that my twin brother interacts with or not?

"Oh .. I remember!" I said it with an unnoticeable tone.

"Huh? Did you say something?!" She looked at me.

"Ohh no I did not" I remember her now! She is my brother's fiancée, Sara!

I did not know that I will interact with an important individual this soon after becoming a crown prince. I thought that no one will approach me once I sit down and do nothing! What should I do now!

"Are you okay?"

"Yes I am fine. Thank you."

A sudden silence occurs again. I can see from her expressions that she wants to say something, but she can't. I waited for some time to talk, but it was useless.

"Mmmm .... excuse me? It seems that you want to tell me something, but you can't. Tell me. It is fine".

"Ohh" she said uneasily, "It is something not important. Anyway. Congratulations on becoming the crown prince". She smiled at me as she extends her hand to shake my hand. I reach her hand and said with a grin "Thank you".

"Crown prince, can we ...."

"Son, I need you for a moment" I heard my father's voice as he walks toward me. " Ohh. I am sorry. Did I interrupt the two of you?"

Sara says impulsively "It is not. We just finish talking. I am heading down to the hall now. See you later Crown Prince." She then walks away after bowing her head to the king to show respect for him.

"Did you recall that girl?" my father asks.

"Yes, she is my brother's fiancée."

"That's right. Anyway. I need you to come with me for a moment to interact with the nobles."

"Father. As I remembered, you told me it is not necessary to interact with the nobles."

"Yes. I did tell you that before, but now I changed my mind. As your father, it is better to interact with them, so that they won't be suspicious toward you. Your brother was very sociable."

"Father, I am tired. Can I skip the formalities for now. I don't think that this will be my last banquet." I said it thoughtlessly.

Father sighed and said "You are right, it is your first day of your society depute and there are many people surrounding you, so of course will not not be familiar with this environment."

He paused for a moment. "you can go back to your room if you want."

"Yes father"

I finally reach my room, changed my clothes into comfortable ones and went straight to my bed. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to sleep.
