Chapter 827 - 827

Cedric decided to delay telling everyone what he had learned from Julia overnight. Everyone deserved to have a good night's sleep.

The next day, the first thing Cedric did was to call and ask his friends to come over to his office in R Tower. 

Luckily Adrianna was feeling better and could come with him. 

"What's with the sudden meeting? Did you find something out?" Ray asked Cedric as he joined them for breakfast.

"Might as well tell him." Adrianna said with a shrug.

"Let's wait for my sister." Cedric said with a nod as they waited for Ayanna and Yoyo to make their way down and join the rest of the family in the dining room.

"Yoyo, what do you think about skipping school today?" Cedric asked his son as the boy came running up to Cedric.

"Can I spend that day with you, dad?" Yoyo asked as he looked up eagerly at his father.

"Of course!" Cedric said as he hugged his son tightly. 

"Are you sure you want him to be there?" Adrianna asked her husband as she tried to tell him not to bring their son along.

"Adrianna, it will be fine." Cedric told his wife as he gave her a sweet smile. "I'll have someone watch him in another room while we talk to everyone."

"Fine." Adrianna said as she surrendered to what Cedric wanted.

"So will you tell us what the meeting is about?" Ayanna asked her older brother.

"Please take my son to the living room." Cedric told a nanny as she nodded and did as he asked.

"Daddy, can't I stay?" Yoyo begged.

"I'm sorry Yoyo, the adults need to talk for a bit. I promise, you'll understand in the future." Cedric said as he urged the nanny to take the boy to the next room.

When Yoyo was finally out of the room, Cedric took a deep breath and told his sister and brother-in-law what happened.

"There is a chance that Dominic might be an actual Chan." Cedric said as he tried to simplify the news.

"What do you mean Cedric?" Ayanna asked as she gave her brother a confused look. "Dominic has been adopted by Miguel and Veronica. Of course he is an actual Chan."

"No, what I mean is he could be the son of a member of the Chan family." Cedric explained.

"So an illegitimate son?" Ray asked.

"No, not an illegitimate one." Cedric said as he shook his head. "Remember my dilemma with Julia?" 

"Yeah, have you found out anything from Julia yet? Last time you told me she was being uncooperative." Ray asked Cedric as he ate his breakfast. 

"We did." Cedric said with a nod. "She finally confessed that the reason why she is being held by the Esteves Group is because she has a child with her ex, and he isn't exactly her ex. They are still married."

"That's good, at least now you have a starting point, all you have to do is find out who he is and maybe find him." Ray said with a nod.

"Ray, that's the thing. We already know the name of her husband. He goes by Aaron Ting, but his real name is Andrew Chan." Cedric revealed.

As the words left his lips he could hear Ray drop a fork in shock and his sister choke on the water she was drinking.

"That's a joke right?" Ray asked. "It's not a nice joke." 

"No, it's the truth." Cedric told them in a serious tone.

"It can't be the same Andrew Chan, it just can't be." Ayanna said as she shook her head. 

"What does this have to do with Dominic?" Ray asked as he remembered how the conversation was brought up.

"The name of Julia's son is Dominic Chan." Cedric revealed, making his sister gasp.

"Dominic's last name only became Chan when Miguel and Veronica adopted him. So it can't be him." Ray pointed out.

"That's true." Cedric said with a nod. "But Julia sent her son out to be adopted. Her father told her the boy died two years after he was adopted by a school janitor." 

"No way." Ray said.

"Ray, I need you to look into this. Maybe Julia's father will tell one of your people the truth?" Cedric asked. 

"We can try, but I think the best way would be to test Dominic's DNA against Miguels." Ray suggested.

"That's why I've called everyone over. I think that's our first option, if there is a match then Dominic may be Andrew Chan's child." Cedric told them.

"And what if the DNA doesn't match?" Adrianna asked her husband. 

Cedric hadn't told anyone his plans. 

"If it doesn't match we should still have it tested with Julia's family." Cedric suggested.

"Cedric, if Dominic turns out to be Julia's child, what will happen to him?" Ayanna asked. 

Cedric had thought about this as well. He knew how much Veronica and Miguel loved Dominic, the couple would do anything and everything for the boy.

"Julia and her family gave Dominic away and they didn't care what happened to him." Cedric said with a sigh. "Even if they demand that Dominic is returned to them, they won't win." 

"I feel bad that a little boy is now in the middle of his whole drama." Ray said with a frown.

"Sometimes it's the innocents that suffer the worst." Cedric said as he shook his head.

"We should hurry up then." Ray told Cedric. "The sooner we get this news out, the better."

Cedric simply nodded and waved for a maid to bring Yoyo back in.

Initially Cedric had been afraid of Ayanna's and Ray's reaction to the news, but since they had been calmer than Cedric expected he couldn't help but frown.

He didn't like sending his son away. He knew that Yoyo already knew about many parts of the harsh realities of the world.

The child had seen his grandmother and Mia murdered.

In school, other children looked down at him because they didn't know he was actually the richest among them.

Cedric wanted to shield his son from some realities till he was old enough, but he knew that at some point, Yoyo would come face to face with them on his own.
