Cedric woke up earlier than usual the next day, he knew that there were a lot of matters that still needed to be resolved and that their plan would start to be in place.
"Cedric, good morning." Ian greeted as he bumped into Cedric outside of the dining room.
"Good morning, have you guys eaten already?" Cedric asked as he noticed Mae and Dave walking behind Ian.
"Yeah." Ian said with a nod. "We had to finish some stuff up early in the morning before the plan could start."
"Is everything done?" Cedric asked.
"Yes." It was Mae that responded this time.
"Good, I want you all to go get some rest. You can deal with things later." Cedric ordered them.
"With all due respect, sir." Dave said as he spoke up. "We still have a lot of work to do both for the Reyes Group and for this plan."
"I don't want you guys pushing yourselves too far, you all need to rest." Cedric said with a frown before turning to look at Ian.
"How bad is their workload?" Cedric asked.
"Well, between the plans and the rate that the Reyes Group has been going, I doubt they will be able to catch up with what needs to be done within the day." Ian confessed making Mae and Dave frown.
"Give me what work I can do on my own without an assistant." Cedric ordered.
Mae and Dave both hesitated, unsure if what Cedric was telling them was a trick or not.
"I'm serious." Cedric said, clearly annoyed that they refused to give him more work.
"I think you two are forgetting that Cedric was an assistant before he became the CEO." Ian said with a laugh as he looked at the two younger employees.
"I'll get Marco to help too, I know he has been itching to come back for over a year now." Cedric told Ian.
"Yeah, the old man bugs me all the time." Ian grumbled.
"We both know he isn't that old." Cedric said as he laughed at his friend and former assistant.
"I'll try to help with what I can, I'll also help Mae and Dave go through all the tasks and see which ones you won't need either of them at." Ian told Cedric.
"It should be fine for most meetings, those with higher level employees only I want to host them here." Cedric told Ian.
"That's a good plan." Ian said with a nod. "I'll tell a maid to prepare the conference room."
"No need, I'll do it." Cedric told Ian. "I want you to rest. I'm not some rich kid that never experienced the world."
"We know." Ian said with a laugh. "We'll go through the work that needs to be done."
"Don't touch the schedule, I can reorganize it myself. I know that will take most of your time." Cedric warned Ian.
"It's annoying how you used to be one of us and now we can't even lie about what's easy to do and what's not." Ian grumbled.
"Call for a maid to send the documents to my office." Cedric called out as Ian, Mae, and Dave headed back to their rooms.
Cedric couldn't help but feel excited.
It had been a while since he last did some of the trivial work. It used to be extremely tiring and irritating, but when he became CEO he couldn't help but miss the simpler life.
He was glad that the had thought of taking on some of the assistants' workload, he couldn't help but wonder if he could take on that work permanently. He didn't like being the type of boss that just gave out orders.
After several years he grew tired of people doing everything for him and he missed doing things himself.
When he finally made it to the dining room, he was greeted by his younger sister who was happily chatting with Veronica and Nicole.
"I heard you send my husband to bed." Nicole said with a grin.
"You three girls should still be in bed too." Cedric told them with a frown. Two of the three women were pregnant, they should have been resting more.
"Don't worry about us too much, Cedric." Ayanna told her brother. "We are fully aware of what our bodies can handle."
"Also we need to get a head start, we're having lunch with Grandpa Chan." Veronica told Cedric.
"Your husbands will kill me if they knew I was letting you out of the house." Cedric said with a chuckle as a maid placed his breakfast in front of him.
Cedric thanked the woman before proceeding to eat his meal.
"Are the kids up yet?" Nicole asked.
"No, when I left the third floor all three of them were still fast asleep." Cedric told her.
Nicole frowned upon hearing the news.
"Why?" Cedric asked as he took a bite out of his breakfast.
"I miss my son." Nicole said with a pout.
"They should be up soon, don't worry. Yoyo doesn't really like to sleep in." Cedric said as he continued to eat his food.
"I hope they slept well." Veronica said with a frown. "Although, Dominic seems to always sleep well when we come here."
"Maybe it's because he knows he is with friends?" Nicole asked her sister-in-law.
"Any update from Ray or Miguel?" Ayanna asked her older brother.
Cedric stopped and shook his head as he swallowed his breakfast.
"I almost forgot to give them a call." Cedric said as he looked at the clock. It was six in the morning, he knew that they probably didn't sleep much either, especially Miguel who probably didn't sleep at all.
"Promise me the three of you will at least get some shut eye later." Cedric said as he looked at the three women.
"Yes, yes, we aren't children, but fine, we'll take naps." Ayanna told her older brother in order to calm him down.
"Good, let me give Miguel a call for an update.." Cedric said as he dialed the doctor's number.
