Chapter 897 - 897

"Nervous?" Cedric teased as he nudged Guan Ming who was seated next to him.

They had finished up at R tower as quickly as possible before making their way back to Mountain View.

Unlike the other trips, they were taking Cedric's car since both the military and Cedric's team had given them the go ahead.

They also knew that if Lucius Ting's men were watching they would be wise enough to realize that the helicopter was their target and no longer Cedric's car.

"I just miss her, but I know we have a lot of work to do before we can truly unwind." Guan Ming said with a nod.

"You know she's already working, right?" Cedric asked as he took out his tablet and handed it to Guan Ming. "These are all of Lucius Ting's accounts that she had managed to get, and if you scroll down all of his companies, both declared and undeclared."

"Wow." Guan Ming said as Cedric's car entered the gates of the Mountain View community.

Their trip had been uneventful and they had been surrounded by multiple security vehicles ensuring their safety.

Cedric would have preferred to take a more low profile approach to their movements, but Leon insisted that no matter what car they took Lucius Ting and his men would figure it out.

"I think she wanted to keep herself busy rather than just sit and wait for us to get back." Cedric said with a frown as his car passed the currently empty homes of his friends.

"I just want to be done with this." Guan Ming said with a sigh as he shook his head and looked out of the window.

"Don't we all." Cedric chimed in his agreement.

"Cedric, I don't think I ever got to mention this to you, but you've created quite a good place here at mountain view." Guan Ming commented.

"Thanks, I actually picked this when I was very young." Cedric said as he recalled the story of how Mountain View came to be. "When I was seven, dad took me and Ayanna around the outskirts of the capital, telling us to choose one location."

"Wow, so young and already so enterprising." Guan Ming teased knowing that as a little boy Cedric had only chosen what looked nice to him.

Cedric shook his head and laughed together with his friend.

"Anyway, this place wasn't even on the options. We were way down the valley when I looked up and pointed to the side of this small mountain and told my dad I wanted to build my house here." Cedric said with a shrug.

"Clearly your dad took you seriously." Guan Ming said as he was surprised at the lengths the former CEO had taken to make his son happy.

"I didn't even know he purchased it till I got back a few years ago." Cedric said with a shrug.

Guan Ming smiled at Cedric's story. It was truly amazing to hear that the spot he had chosen as a little boy was now where his family home stood.

"I know that the properties here have all been sold, but would you be open to selling one to me and Camilla?" Guan Ming asked, catching Cedric off guard. Clearly this was something he was yet to discuss with Camilla. "I'd like to give her the option of having her own home here in your country. I don't want to force her to join me in China."

Cedric couldn't help but laugh and shake his head at what Guan Ming had just told him.

"Clearly you haven't brought this up with Camilla yet." Cedric said as Guan Ming gave him a confused expression.

"No, this was supposed to be a surprise, my grand romantic gesture." He declared.

"Well, sorry to disappoint you Ming, but Camilla already has property here." Cedric pointed at an empty lot near his own home. "As a matter of fact it's that one, and the one next to it is Ian's. All my assistants get their own properties here." Cedric explained.

"Damnit, now I need to think of something else." Guan Ming grumbled, making Ian, who was seated in the front seat, and Cedric laugh.

"You'll find what you need to do eventually. Plus you guys still need to get reacquainted properly." Ian said, acting like an older brother.

"Plus I need to get your approval." Guan Ming said as he rolled his eyes at Ian.

"Honestly, as long as she chooses to be with you I'll be fine with it. It's not in my place to say who she can or can't marry. This isn't the middle ages for crying out loud." Ian pointed out. He knew that a lot of families still carried that tradition, but he wanted to change things for the better.

"Ah, here we are." Cedric exclaimed as their car entered the gates of the Mountain View Mansion.

They had all been itching to get here since this morning and finally they were back.

The driveway seemed longer than usual as their convoy of cars pulled up to the front door. To their surprise everyone was waiting for them, something that was rarely done, and at the center of it all was Camilla.

"She looks worried." Ian said as he pointed out his friend.

"It's been a difficult past few days for her." Cedric said in a low voice. "You guys should take the rest of the day off, rest, spend some time with your loved ones."

To his surprise, Guan Ming shook his head.

"I don't think Camilla will agree to that. She'll want this to be over as soon as possible, Lucius Ting did things to her that were beyond evil." Guan Ming said with a sigh. "He needs to be stopped."

With that, Guan Ming opened the door to Cedric's car and when Camilla saw him she quickly ran up and jumped into his arms and cried.

"I thought you wouldn't make it back, I thought I was going to lose you to the man I hate the most in the world." Camilla said as she hugged Guan Ming tightly.

"Don't worry, love. I'll always find my way back to you.." Guan Ming declared as he planted as passionate kiss on her lips allowing the world around them to vanish.
