Cedric had barely slept when he heard a vicious knocking on the door. Luckily Adrianna was still sound asleep next to him. He knew that in their home only one person would dare wake him up.
Cedric peeked out the door and true enough he found his mom waiting outside.
"Mom, Adrianna is still sleeping. Let me get dressed then we can talk." Cedric calmly told his mom in a low voice.
"You don't need to change, I've seen all of that anyway. I gave birth to you and I changed your diapers. I even washed your bum till you were seven, such a stubborn boy." Priscilla Reyes ranted.
"I need to brush my teeth mom. Give me a minute." Cedric said closing the door on his mom.
After a minute Cedric did come out and saw his mom sitting on a couch outside his and Adrianna's room.
"Mom, what is it?" Cedric asked as he sat across his mother.
"Ayanna's engaged?" Priscilla asked her son.
"You know it's a front." Cedric told his mom.
"I thought they would only pretend to date?" Priscilla asked her son.
"It was Ayanna's idea." Cedric said with a yawn.
"Should I fake plan for a wedding too?" Priscilla grumpily asked her son.
"Mom." Cedric said as he moved next to his mom to coax her.
"What?" Priscilla replied with a pissed off tone. She knew when her children were trying to coax her.
"I think Ayanna might actually really like Ray. So it might not be a fake wedding." Cedric teased. Although what he was saying was actually true.
"Ced!" Adrianna shouted from their door.
"Adrianna, what's wrong?" Priscilla was the first to react and quickly came to her daughter in law's side.
"Mom, I woke up bleeding. It doesn't look like my period blood." Adrianna told Priscilla.
"I'll get a driver to bring you and our moms to the hospital. I'll give Nicole a heads up as well. Go on and get dressed." Cedric said as he quickly sent a message to his driver. Unfortunately he couldn't accompany Adrianna since he had a morning meeting with Alexi.
"I'll go get Gracia and have breakfast packed." Priscilla told Adrianna who in turn nodded and went in to change and take a shower.
When Adrianna and the moms arrived at Saints Hospital they entered through a backdoor in order not to create suspicion. They were greeted by a smiling Nicole who took them to the OB-GYN department.
"You have nothing to worry about, Doctor Santos is one ofthe best OB-GYN in the country, she's even worked with Mom and Miguel." Nicole said, leading them to a clinic.
Doctor Santos was a middle aged woman who looked like she could have been a model in her younger years.
"Mrs. Reyes, when was it since your last period?" Doctor Santos asked.
"I think three months." Adrianna said thinking back.
The mom's gasped at the same time.
"Doc, could she be pregnant?" Priscilla excitedly asked.
"Mom, I've always had an irregular flow. Sometimes I wouldn't get my period for months." Adrianna explained, she did not want to get her elder's hopes up.
"Have you been experiencing any morning sicknesses? Cravings? Fatigue?" Doctor Santos continued to ask, ignoring the excited moms that sat beside Adrianna.
"No morning sicknesses, cravings a bit, yes I've been quite tired recently. I think it could be because I've been working a lot as well." Adrianna said, answering the doctor's questions.
"We can't be too sure until you take the tests. But it is highly possible that you are pregnant." Doctor Santos said.
After a while a nurse took Adrianna to the extraction room where they took some blood for a blood test. Nicole had also asked for the doctors to run further tests on Adrianna in case she was pregnant as the moms were hoping.
They chose to wait in Nicole's office since it would be much more comfortable than waiting outside in the hall. After a while Nicole came in with the test results and Doctor Santos in tow.
"Will you tell them or will I?" Nicole asked the doctor, handing the results to Doctor Santos.
"Mrs. Reyes, you're 3 months pregnant." Doctor Santos announced.
The mothers couldn't hold their excitement and jumped up and down with glee hugging Adrianna.
Adrianna was stunned, she unconsciously placed her hand on her belly and realized that there was now another life growing in her.
"What about the bleeding?" Adrianna asked.
"It was good that you came here Adri. You could have lost the baby if you didn't come. Anyway, tell Cedric to abstain for the meantime and you need to rest. I'll tell Ced to put you on house arrest for at least a month." Nicole said as she wrote things down. "Tell me when Cedric knows so that I can give him more specific instructions."
"Oh Adri! You're gonna be a mom!" Priscilla said, hugging her daughter in law.
"You should eat healthier food now. Do you think we could hire a nutritionist for her?" Gracia asked Priscilla.
"Of course. Nicole please send one to Mountain View. And oh, we need to get a nanny to help Adrianna out with things." Priscilla said as the thought of what other things needed to be done.
"From now on you aren't allowed to use the stairs! Use the elevator. Cedric had that thing installed but neither of you use it." Gracia told her daughter.
"Moms please calm down. I still don't know how to tell Cedric." Adrianna said.
"Oh that's right. Nicole dear, please give Adri a copy of the results." Priscilla told Nicole who in turn gave Adrianna a copy.
"Right. Let's have lunch first then you can figure out if you'll tell Cedric in his office or when he gets home, or whichever." Priscilla excitedly said. "I've called the driver. You guys go ahead. I just need to talk to Nicole for a bit."
Adrianna and Gracia nodded and left the room for the back entrance they came in.
In Nicole's office Priscilla sat back down and her face became more serious.
"Auntie, I'm glad you're having a grand kid." Nicole said with a half smile. "Shouldn't we push through with your treatment now?"
"Miguel said it's quite risky." Priscilla told Nicole.
"No matter how risky the operation I'm sure Miguel can do it." Nicole said proudly.
"Your brother isn't God, Nicole." Priscilla said with a sad smile.
"Auntie, if you don't get treatment it could get worse." Nicole said with a concerned look.
"I'll do it when things are more stable. For the meantime don't let our children know." Priscilla instructed as she left.
