Miguel had eventually managed to wear Ram down and invited himself and his wife to Ram's dinner. As Veronica expected, Ram was going on a date, this news surprised everyone since it had been three years since Ram stopped seeing girls to focus on work.
"I wonder what kind of woman managed to pull my brother away from work?" Veronica asked as she sat in the car between her husband and brother-in-law.
"Maybe it's some famous international actress. They're really pretty." Miguel joked.
"And really tall. Are you trying to make a joke about my height again?" Veronica asked as she crossed her arms and glared at her husband.
"I like that you're bite sized." Miguel said with a laugh.
"Please, you guys are too sweet. Stop it." Eric said as he leaned on the car door and rolled his eyes at his brother and sister-in-law.
"Stop it Miguel." Veronica scolded.
When they finally arrived at an expensive restaurant, Miguel helped his wife down. When Eric stepped out of Miguel's car some bystanders spotted him and quickly ran over for a picture, luckily Eric's and Miguel's security detail were used to incidents like this and quickly surrounded Eric in order for him to get into the restaurant.
Miguel and Veronica quickly followed behind since some fans spotted them as well and were eager to take photos of the newly married couple who had not yet been seen in public together.
Inside the restaurant, Miguel let out a sigh. "Why did I agree on entering through the front door with Eric in our car?" Miguel had initially wanted to pass the backdoor through the kitchen, but his brother insisted on being seen in public.
"Ah there's Ram. Oh and a girl is sitting across him. Can you guess who it is Miguel?" Eric said pointing at the couple.
"She seems familiar, but I can't figure out who. Maybe she was a patient?" Miguel asked as he tried to figure out who was seated across his brother-in-law.
"Why don't we just go over and take our seats?" Veronica said as she tried to drag the boys towards Ram's direction.
"Wait." Miguel grabbed Veronica's hand and stopped her from taking a step further. "Don't ruin his moment."
"I wanna know who it is." Veronica complained.
"Five minutes." Eric said as he looked at Ram and his date.
Veronica had no choice but to listen to her companions. After a while, Miguel held Veronica's hand and started to make their way to the table.
"Eric!" A shrill voice that made Miguel's hair stand suddenly shouted.
"Shouldn't you be in Spain?" Veronica coldly said as she turned to see Calathea attempting to hug Eric's arm.
"I was, but I missed our country so I flew back." Calathea said as if Cedric did not pose a threat to her family.
"I --" Miguel suddenly nudged Veronica before she could say anything and wrapped his arm around her waist and whispered.
"Don't make a scene Veronica. This place is too public. Plus remember Eric needs to maintain his image." Miguel whispered to his wife.
Veronica calmed down and smiled at Calathea.
"Why don't I join you guys, it's awfully lonely to eat alone." Calathea suggested to the group. Miguel looked at his brother waiting for a response. They were in public so Eric had to behave differently.
"You can't we're having dinner with my brother. It's business related." Miguel was surprised when his wife suddenly spoke back.
"Oh, but isn't Ram over there on a date?" Calathea pointed out.
"Nope. It's a business dinner. Sorry you can't join." Veronica said as she pulled Miguel towards the direction of Ram's table. Miguel was caught by surprise and stumbled a little.
"Can't you walk properly?" Veronica, who was already in a foul mood, scolded.
Eric on the other hand just shrugged at Calathea and followed the couple.
Veronica took a seat next to the girl who was on a date with Ram while Miguel and Eric sat on each side of Ram.
When Miguel sat and saw who Ram's date was he had a very confused look on his face, he looked at Ram and raised an eyebrow. Ram closed his eyes and sighed as he watched Miguel's reaction.
"So playing hero did it?" Miguel teased.
"Julia!" Veronica exclaimed as she realized who her brother's date was. "Oh I'm suddenly so happy."
"You have so many mood swings sister-in-law, could you be pregnant?" Eric teased.
"Shut it." Miguel warned his older brother. Eric simply laughed at Miguel as he took a menu from a waiter.
"I need to tell the girls!" Veronica said as she took out her phone.
"Wait, please don't." Julia asked, clearly uncomfortable with the situation.
Veronica paused for a bit to think before finally placing her phone back in her bag.
"So, how did this happen?" Veronica said looking at her older brother. "Ram, spill." She continued to tease.
"I'm just paying Mr. Abad back for saving me that time at the bar." Julia shyly said. Veronica knew that Julia was not the shy type, she had seen her interact with the other girls before as well as when they were at the bar, but today it seemed like she was a different person.
"I'm disappointed." Veronica said with a pout.
"I'm sure Mr. Abad has gone on dates with women from much more powerful families than mine." Julai humbly told Veronica. Julia's family owned an instant noodle manufacturing company. It was far from how big the Abad family businesses were, it was even smaller than Island's Inc. As a matter of fact her father didn't graduate from a prestigious University, he went to a small provincial college and moved to the city where he eventually found work and began investing in a small business.
Over the years Pika Noodles, the company's flagship brand, grew and so did their family's wealth, but no matter how much her family earned they couldn't erase the fact that they were new rich and that their roots were still very provincial.
Veronica didn't press Julia any further and the group ate in peace.
While they were eating Ram suddenly got an urgent call. Since he was familiar with everyone on the table he took it in front of them.
"When was this posted?" Ram asked the person on the other line.
"I'm with him now. Deal with it." Ram said as he dropped the call.
"Miguel or Eric? Which Chan is causing problems?" Veronica asked her brother.
"Eric." Ram said with a sigh.
