Ian and Camilla quickly caught on, the boss had just given his approval to push through with the partnership with this establishment. Cedric knew that Ian believed he would agree, that's why he had decided to pull some strings to get in.
Cedric truly enjoyed their food and was heavily considering having a branch at the Tech Hub once completed.
"How sure are you that the boss will approve this? Has he eaten here? Isn't it beneath him to eat at places like this?" Dave asked. His questions made sense, most scions of rich and powerful families would never dine at places like these and they often had a poor understanding of what common folk would like.
"You wanna know a secret?" Ian said with a grin.
Cedric glared at him, curious as to what Ian would say, it was the latter's chance to say things about him without him fighting back.
"What Mr. Ian?" Mae excitedly asked. As a fan, she treasured every bit of information she could gather about her idol.
"The boss is actually very down to earth." Ian said with a wink. "He always wears a disguise so he could go around just like us. He is very different from his contemporaries, even his friends are unique. The five princes are never demanding and they rarely spend in excess. It's true that the four other princes enjoy luxury, but it's never excessive.
"So, do you mean the boss could be in this very restaurant, inspecting it?" Dave asked wide eyed and curious. He quickly scanned the room for anyone that resembled the Reyes Heir, but everyone in the restaurant seemed ordinary.
"You'd be surprised if you met him." Ian said with a chuckle as he looked at Cedric in the eye.
"Have all three of you met the boss without his disguise?" Mae asked.
"Yep." Cedric responded as he devoured his food. He liked being just him, he had no need to be proper or behaved, he could be as ordinary as he wanted.
"Please tell us more about him." Mae begged Cedric.
"Errr.. I'm not the best to describe him." Cedric awkwardly said, he didn't know how to describe himself.
"The boss, hmmmm…." Ian said as he rubbed his chin. "Well, he seems cold but he's actually nice. Oh and he is obsessed with his wife." Ian said with a laugh. Cedric laughed with him, what Ian said was true, he was crazy in love with his wife.
Cedric excused himself so that Ian and Camilla could freely talk about him with the junior assistants. As he walked over to the bathroom, he suddenly bumped into a waiter who accidentally spilled a cold drink on a customer.
Cedric heard a shrill scream and jumped in surprise.
"You incompetent idiot!" A female customer shouted at the waiter. "How hard is it to carry a drink!" The woman shouted.
Cedric felt guilty about what had happened. If he had been paying more attention to where he was going he wouldn't have bumped into the waiter who was currently being berated by the customer.
"I'm sorry. I bumped into him." Cedric said respectfully, as he looked behind the waiter to apologize.
"You! You!" The woman shouted.
Cedric was surprised to see Lorisa De Jesus and her husband Anton seated at the table where the waiter had spilled the drink.
"I can't believe this place lets in vermin like you!" Lorisa accused in a loud tone. Her hysterics managed to attract the attention of almost all the restaurant's patrons.
Seeing that a scene was unfolding, the manager ran up to resolve the problem.
"Madam, Sir, what happened? Can we resolve your issue peacefully?" The manager asked in a calm tone.
"You shouldn't let worthless people like him in!" Lorisa shouted as she pointed at Cedric and looked at him with disgust.
"Still the same as always, Miss Lorisa, you can't buy breeding." Cedric's word cut through Lorisa like a knife cutting butter. Cedric knew her largest insecurity, she was a social climber, she came from a poor family and managed to make the right friends and marry a man of worth, but in the eyes of the truly rich she was still nothing.
"What do you know? You're just a poor and dirty assistant." Lorisa shouted. "You're so worthless that your wife had to crawl into your boss' bed for you!" Lorisa accused, causing many to gasp and quickly gossip.
"I highly suggest that you do not tell lies Lorisa." Cedric said in a stern tone.
"Or what? You're just a lowly employee, Cedric." Lorisa mocked.
"Is that the husband of that Hernandez girl?" A gossipy lady behind Cedric asked her companion. Cedric wasn't surprised that the rumors about Adrianna had not died down, they continued to linger in society, popping up when most inconvenient.
"Yes, he's one of the Reyes Heir's assistants, but I heard he recently got moved to the head office." Her companion, whom Cedric assumed to be her husband, told the lady.
"It's probably cause his wife is truly the mistress. The Reyes Heir must have moved him to keep him away." At the lady's words, Cedric wanted to laugh. If only they knew who they knew the truth, maybe they would cough out blood in shock.
"Be careful of what you say dear. You never know what influence he holds. He is still close to the Reyes Heir and is possibly one of the very few who have seen his face."The husband warned his wife. At least the husband still had some sense in him, those that mocked Cedric didn't expect him to be held in high regard by the Reyes Heir, but no matter how you looked at it he was close to the man, making those that were wise still respectful towards him.
"Your threats are all empty." Lorisa said, crossing her arms as she stood proudly.
Before Cedric could say anything further he noticed Anton grabbing Lorisa by the arm and throwing her a warning look.
"Mr. Cruz, is there a problem here?" The owner asked as he rushed to de-escalate the commotion. His eyes were darting between Cedric and Lorisa, he knew that Cedric had arrived with Ian and Camilla so he must have been someone important to the assistants.
"This person made your waiter spill a drink on my dress! Do you know how much this costs?" Lorisa shouted, not caring about all the eyes that were watching them.
"Is there a problem here?" Ian asked as he approached. He was accompanied by Camilla, Mae, and Dave.
"Nothing I can't handle." Cedric said with a grin.
