Chapter 359

Reporters began calling Nicole to ask if anyone with a gunshot had been admitted into the hospital, while Mae and Dave had both called Ian when they heard the news. They were aware that the man who was shot was their boss, the CEO of the Reyes Group. They wanted to see if they needed to delete all evidence that Cedric was in fact at Saints Hospital due to a gunshot wound.

"You need to make a statement." Miguel said as he marched into Cedric's room.

"I'll get back to you. Please wait for us to make a statement." Nicole said as she dropped the call. She looked up at her brother and glared at Miguel. "What do you think I'm trying to do? Somehow my number got leaked to the public and I've been trying to get reporters to wait for our statement." Nicole complained.

"Ian, make sure there is no proof that it was me." Cedric calmly instructed. He already knew that his people had begun to work the moment he heard Ian taking a call from Mae and Dave. "Check all CCTVs and see to it that all witnesses are kept quiet. Bribe them if you have to."

Ian simply nodded and continued to give instructions to Mae and Dave.

"So we will just deny it?" Miguel asked.

"No need. You can say that those injured from the incident are here, but you cannot disclose any information. They can try asking every patient that walks out of the hospital, but they won't find out who." Cedric said with a shrug.

"Miguel, you'll have to do the press con. I can't exactly go out like this." Nicole said, pointing at her swollen belly.

"Why not? You have a special glow." Ian said with a wink before returning to his call.

Nicole rolled her eyes at his comment, it seemed Ian didn't care who heard his sweet nothings.

"Why can't you be that sweet to me?" Ayanna complained as she elbowed Ray in the gut.

"I'm sweet to you in bed." Ray said with a laugh.

"Get a room guys, I'm still her older brother." Cedric complained.

Ray simply laughed at his friend as he gently kissed his wife on the cheek.

"I'll arrange for a press con and say what Cedric suggested." Miguel said with a nod as he brought the discussion back on topic. "How are you planning to leave though? And if people see Ayanna and Ray leaving the hospital they will speculate."

"Let them speculate! They can think I'm pregnant for all I care." Ayanna said with a laugh.

"We can use a smoke screen tactic." Cedric suggested as he thought of what would be the noisiest but most temporary way to direct people's attention.

"Eric!" Adrianna suddenly said.

"Well we can't say Eric is pregnant, that's impossible." Miguel teased.

"If he is spotted coming out of the hospital his fans will drag the attention to him, then when he says he only went for a routine check up everything will already be settled here." Adrianna said, ignoring Miguel's antics.

"It could work. We just need to tell Ram in advance." Ray said as he thought of Adrianna's suggestion.

"Eric should be alright to do that." Nicole said with a nod.

An announcement was quickly sent out that the Miracle Doctor himself, Miguel Chan, would be making a statement for Saints Hospital. Miguel was known for staying away from the business side of Saints so it came as a shock to all the reporters that Miguel would be making the statement.

At the same time Cedric had called Eric and Ram to ask for a favor. Eric, of course, agreed to the plan and made his way to Saints Hospital in the weakes disguise he could think of.

Despite the press conference being held at midnight almost all of the reporters were present. They were all chatting, curious as to what Saints Hospital had to say and why they were sending out Miguel Chan to make the statement.

They didn't have to wait long, the Miracle Doctor soon appeared in a suit and tie.

"I swear, if he wasn't a doctor he could be a famous model or actor." A female reported whispered to her companion as she snapped some photos with her phone.

"Yeah, a face like his could give Eric a run for his money." Her companion said with a laugh.

"Good morning. Thank you for coming here despite the press conference having been scheduled so late." Miguel said as he flashed them all a smile. The women in the crowd blushed as he made eye contact with his audience. Miguel had learned a thing or two from his elder brother.

"I'll get straight to the point." Miguel said as his expression turned serious, making the women swoon again. "Saints Hospital would like to confirm that all those involved in the incident at Hype Bar were brought to our facility, all except for the suspects. Mr. Laurence has settled all of their bills and everyone is recovering will. As for the man dubbed as the Hero at Hype, I personally saw to his care upon his arrival. There were no major injuries and he will be discharged soon. You may ask your questions."

The reporter's hands all shot up, with Miguel calling one.

"What injuries did he sustain?" The reporter asked.

"A gunshot wound in the leg, luckily it missed any major veins or arteries." Miguel said.

"Does he have any plans of giving an interview?" Another reporter asked as Miguel pointed at him.

"No. As far as I am aware he would like to remain anonymous and he is hoping you would respect his wishes." Miguel said, repeating the answer Cedric had given him.

"What about the women who were drugged?" The same reporter asked.

"They said they will come out once they need to stand in court as witnesses, as of the moment they are still recovering." Miguel answered.

"And the girl the hero saved?" The reporter asked.

"She is also recovering, as for an interview, she hasn't expressed any interest." Miguel responded, Ciara was currently in the psych ward due to the effects of the incident at Hype Bar.

"That will be all for today. Please leave the grounds as we are still a hospital." Miguel said as he turned and entered the hospital once more.

As the reporters began to leave they encountered a familiar figure, it was Eric Chan entering the hospital. Many managed to take out their cameras and snap several photos, while their attention was all turned to the arriving celebrity, a patient with a gunshot wound entered a luxurious Rolls Royce Ghost that had come and gone quickly.
