"What do you mean?" Cedric asked Aiden.
"Come out and I'll tell you." Aiden said with a smirk.
"I prefer to stay in here." Cedric answered back, he wasn't stupid he knew that being out in the open as Aiden wanted would give the man an opportunity to kill him.
"I wonder how much trauma your son will have to get over if I make a bomb explode under your car?" Aiden asked. "I'm pretty sure seeing your auntie die in front of you and your grandma get shot because of you has caused enough damage to his little psyche."
"Don't you dare harm my son any further Aiden!" Cedric threatened.
"The choice is yours Cedric." Aiden said with a laugh. "Stay in there and I will keep bombarding your car."
Cedric remained silent as he weighed his options. He clearly would not dare put his son, wife, and the other passengers of the car in danger, but like all humans he was afraid of dying.
"What does he want?" Adrianna asked. She couldn't hear what Aiden was saying so she was puzzled when Cedric stopped talking and closed his eyes. "What is he threatening against Yoyo?" Adrianna asked in a worried tone.
"It's nothing." Cedric told his wife in an attempt to calm her. He knew his attempts would be futile, his expression said enough.
"Cedric, we both know that even if that car is equipped with the best bulletproofing and security features, it can only take so much." Aiden explained. "It will break, and when it does your whole family can kiss this life goodbye." Alexi laughed as he told Cedric of the faith he had planned for them.
Cedric turned and looked at Adrianna and Emilio, his son now sat on his mother's lap as he hugged Adrianna tightly. The little boy was probably scared, he was smart, he knew when things weren't right. He could sense when his parents were afraid or worried.
He looked at Dave and his driver, both men were innocent in all of this. Dave still had a whole future to conquer, he was a promising young man that Cedric knew would achieve much in life. His driver had always been kind to Cedric, he had been with Cedric from the start, even when Cedric first got into an accident. The man deserved better than this.
"Alright." Cedric said as he dropped the call. A part of him was worried that Aiden would get mad and start shooting at the car, but he was hoping that Aiden thought of the bigger picture over just attacking.
Cedric looked at his wife who had a worried look in her eyes. He wanted to hold her and tell her everything would be fine, that they would come out of today unscratched, but he couldn't, he just couldn't lie.
"Adrianna I love you and our son above everything in this world." Cedric said as he kissed her passionately. He held her tight in his arms, not wanting to let go. He wanted time to stop, he wanted to stay in this moment.
"Cedric, what did he want?" Adrianna asked, worried about the answer her husband would give her.
"He wants to have a word with me." Cedric said, he chose not to mention the other details since it would simply worry his wife even more. "He wants me to step out of the car and walk over to him. A word in person."
"You can't." Adrianna said as her voice broke. "Cedric, you can't step out. You can't leave us. Out there he can kill you, all it takes is a bullet. He won't hesitate to kill you."
"Adrianna, if I don't go out there he will kill all of us in this car." Cedric said as he looked at his driver and Dave. "I cannot let that happen."
"Cedric, please." Adrianna begged. "We can find a way out of this."
Suddenly Cedric's phone began to ring again, he was sure it was Aiden.
"You're taking too long." Aiden said in an impatient tone.
"Give me a few more minutes." Cedric said.
"Fine, but if you don't step out in five minutes I will have your car bombed till your little family is dead," Aiden threatened as he dropped the call.
"Cedric." Adrianna cried. She was afraid of what would happen next, it seemed that the past few days had been nothing but a series of unfortunate events.
"Adrianna, I will do my best not to get killed." Cedric promised his wife. "I am doing this for you and for our son."
"I can't live without you Cedric." Adrianna cried.
"It's for the best Adri." Cedric said as he kissed her again. He made sure to savor everything about their kiss, how soft her lips were, how sweet she tasted against his tongue, how she moaned as he probed his tongue into her wanting mouth.
As they broke off Adrianna frowned.
"Don't let that kiss be the last." She told her husband.
"If it were, it was one hot kiss." Cedric said with a wink.
He bent down to look his son in the eyes and hugged him.
"Daddy has to go talk to the bad man now, take care of mommy for me, alright?" Cedric told his son.
"Take care daddy, be smarter than the bad man." Emilio said with a smile.
"Daddy loves you Emilio." Cedric said as he patted his son.
"It was an honor having you both work for me." Cedric said as he turned to face Dave and his driver. "Please take care of my wife and son if anything should happen to me."
"Sir, nothing will happen to you, I have faith." Dave said with a weak smile. "Good must always triumph over evil."
"We aren't always good Dave." Cedric said with a laugh.
"But we aren't evil." Dave said with a smirk.
Cedric nodded and opened the door. He made sure to step out and close the door quickly so that any snipers in the area would not have the opportunity to shoot at the passengers of the car.
He was tired of having people die because of him.
