Cedric made sure to give his assistants clear instructions on what was needed, he would be out for a few days at the most.

"Is the news of Aiden's attack public?" Cedric asked, he was sure that it must have spread by now. People wouldn't just ignore a helicopter landing in the middle of the cemetery.

"There wasn't anything we could do about it." Ian said with a frown.

"It's alright, it's understandable." Cedric said with a nod. He knew that no one was to blame.

"I'm pretty sure they are already calling the office like crazy now." Dave said with a frown as he thought of the amount of work he would need to face tomorrow.

"Have the PR team release a statement. They just need to say that it's the same people responsible for mom's death." Cedric instructed. "As for my meetings, I'll try to come in in two days, have them moved to then."

His assistants nodded at his instructions. They all knew what Cedric wanted with how the Reyes Group was to be run in his absence. So Cedric didn't need to give that much instructions.

"You may all go." Cedric told them. "Rest today. I know it will be a busy day for you all tomorrow."

They all simply nodded and left.

Cedric also sent Emilio home with Ayanna, Ray, and his father. The Chans in turn left as well after running a few last minute checks on Cedric.

By the time the sun was setting, Cedric and Adrianna were alone in the hospital room. Adriann climbed into bed with her husband, making sure not to hit any of his injuries.

"Alexi thinks I didn't notice, but it was clear that something was wrong earlier." Adrianna said as she played with her husband's fingers. "What happened earlier?"

"I needed some air, so I climbed up to the roof." Cedric explained. He had made a promise not to lie to his wife any more. He would tell her the truth 100% of the time. "Ray and Miguel came back and found this room empty."

"You must have caused them to panic." Adrianna said with a smile. "What happened between you and Aiden?"

"I ended up questioning many things. Things I should never have questioned." Cedric admitted. "I regret even letting that doubt enter my mind."

"It's normal." Adrianna said as she cuddled closer to Cedric. "You're only human, you make mistakes honey."

"I shouldn't have doubted them." Cedric confessed. "I knew better, but Aiden got into my head."

"It's done." Adrianna told her husband as she turned to face him. "You believe them now?" Adrianna asked.

"Yes, of course I do." Cedric told her.

"Then it's a moot point. Don't even think about it." Adrianna said as she kissed him on the lips.

"Adrianna, do you think I did the right thing?" Cedric asked.

"The right thing in what?" Adrianna laughed. "You need to be more specific Cedric."

Cedric grinned at his wife. "With me revealing my identity."

"What are you worried about?" Adrianna asked him.

"I'm afraid that you are mad." Cedric said with a frown as he brushed a stray hair from his wife's face. "We had a deal, I would only step out of the shadows when you could stand on the same stage as me."

"It was foolish of me to ask that of you." Adrianna told Cedric with a frown.

"So this is alright with you?" Cedric asked.

"Yes." Adrianna said with a nod. "Cedric, it was unfair of me to ask you to hide who you are, a lot of problems we encountered could have been solved if you didn't hide."

"Yes, but there were also a lot of things that could have gone wrong if I had come out as who I really was." Cedric told Adrianna. "Aiden would have found me sooner and would have attacked sooner if he knew who I actually was. It all turned out for the best."

Adrianna smiled at him and hugged Cedric tightly.

"Ouch, Adri." Cedric complained as she hit his injuries.

"I'm sorry Ced." Adrianna said with a laugh.

Cedric simply smiled and kissed his wife. He missed the taste of her lips, he let his good hand explore her body, as he thought of all the things he would do to her when he finally got better.

Their moment was ruined when a knock came from the door.

A nurse came in and said she needed to check Cedric's vitals. Adrianna got off the bed and sat down on the couch.

When the nurse finally left, Adrianna walked over and held Cedric's hand.

"Cedric, I have something I want to ask you." She said.

"What is it?" Cedric asked as he pulled her back on the bed.

He began to shower her neck with kisses, he needed her comfort, too many things were happening in his life. He needed her to keep him stable and grounded.

"How are you?" Adrianna asked. "Mia died, then mom, then you almost died today as well. You can't tell me you are doing fine, I know that's a lie."

Cedric smiled and released her. He sat up and patted the space next to him, signalling Adrianna to sit next to him.

"I haven't had time to process what happened to mom and everything else." Cedric confessed. "It's painful, but I don't feel the pain yet. I know it will come, but I guess I've been too busy."

"Cedric, just know that I will always be here for you." Adrianna told him as she kissed him passionately on the lips.
