Chapter 549

"He isn't there? How isn't he there?" Cedric asked over the radio.

All of their hard work had just gone down the drain, they let a dangerous man slip through their fingers, how could it have turned out like this.

"I don;t understand. When Emilia called her nuns this morning he was still there." Benedict said in shock. He too was now afraid that his brother was on the run.

"Could Sister Emilia have betrayed us?" Ray asked over the radio.

"I doubt -" Alexi began to say when the sound of guns going off was suddenly heard through his radio.

"What is going on?" Cedric asked in a panicked tone. They couldn't have gotten Alexi,  they couldn't have outsmarted them.

"Aiden's men were spotted. They were hiding outside of the convent. They must have heard us approaching." Ray said over the radio in between shots. He was clearly fighting back.

"Alexi, are you there?" Ray called out, waiting for a response.

"Damit, Alexi, answer us." Cedric shouted over the radio, still no one answered.

"Your friend isn't going to answer you, cause he is dead." Cedric heard Aiden's familiar voice say. But it wasn't coming from the radio, it came from behind Cedric.

Cedric turned his seat to find Aiden pointing a gun directly at him.

"Now, brother, Aiden, calm down." Benedict said as he tried to approach Aiden.

"No, don't you dare Benedict! You fucking traitor!" Aiden shouted, the pain evident in his eyes. "If you move an inch I will blast his brains out."

"Aiden! No! Please!" Camilla shouted.

"You! You bitch!" Aiden said as he spat on the ground. "You chose them? Them and their fucking family. They killed mom and dad!"

"You weren't there Aiden! You weren't fucking there." Camilla answered back.

"Don't you dare move, don't you dare call for backup." Airden said to those in the command center. "If one of you moves so much as a muscle I will kill Cedric. I will make sure his brain is scattered all over this room!"

"We've overpowered all of his men." Ray said over the radio that had remained switched on. "Some we managed to capture but others are dead."

"Cedric, are you there?" Ray asked after a long pause.

"Answer him!" Aiden ordered Cedric.

Cedric turned slowly and switched on his mic.

"And Aiden?" Cedric asked.

"No sign of him." Ray responded in a disappointed tone.

"Were you able to get in touch with Alexi again?" Cedric asked, he could feel his heart beating faster, he didn't know how he would cope if someone close to him died again.

"Not yet, but all comms to his team are down. We are searching for him as we speak." Ray reported.

"Alright. Radio back when you have something." Cedric said before cutting the line.

"Turn around. Slowly." Aiden said as he kept the gun pointed at Cedric. "I'm a pretty good shot, so don't think that I will miss."

"I don't doubt it Aiden." Cedric said as he slowly turned.

"Aiden, please, don't do this." Camilla begged.

"Shut the fuck up!" Aiden said in an annoyed tone.

"Brother, didn't you want revenge for Camilla's death?" Benedict asked his brother. "Aiden, Camilla is alive. They not only saved her, but they gave her a better shot at her own future."

"Don't you dare believe their fucking lies Benedict!" Aiden shouted. "She is not our Camilla!"

"Can't you see the resemblance between her and I?" Benedict asked.

"You know that is not proof." Aiden answered back.

"We have a DNA test." Camilla suddenly said. "The results are in my house at the Capital. Let us show you that."

"Shut up woman!" Aiden shouted.

"Don't speak to our sister like that!" Benedict said angrily.

"She isn't her!" Aiden shouted. "Cedric, his friends, and his family must pay for what they did! They brutally murdered our sister. And you don't fucking care!"

"Why can't you accept that Camilla is alive?" Benedict asked Aiden as he took a step closer. "Brother, it's her. We both know it's her."

"It can't be."  Aiden said, shaking his head. "It just can't be her."

"Why? Because you lusted over me, brother?" Camilla suddenly asked. Digging up the memory she wanted to forget. "Because when you captured me, you fucking wanted to rape me, to make you your fucked up sex slave?"

"Shut up!" Aiden shouted.

"Cedric, we found Aleix." Ray's voice came over the speakers once more. "Cedric, Alexi is alive."

"Answer it!" Aiden shouted as Cedric turned to answer Ray.

"That's a relief." Cedric said over the radio.

"Delay them!" Aiden ordered Cedric.

"How is he?" Cedric asked.

"Injured, but he will live." Ray said with a laugh.

"It takes more than some mercenaries to kill me." Alexi boasted over the radio.

On the other end of the line they were already celebrating, while the people at the command center hid behind their desks and chairs, not that it offered much protection from bullets.

"That's good." Cedric said with a forced laugh. "Listen, make sure to sweep the entire area. I want to make sure Aiden is found and that none of his men escape."

"Of course. I'll see to it." Ray said in a serious tone.

"Alexi, rest up in the field hospital. Make sure that Miguel patches  you up real well." Cedric said in a concerned tone. This time he was truly speaking from his heart.

"Got it." Alexi said in a confident tone.

"Thank you for doing this." Cedric said over the radio.

"Anything for you man." Ray said in a happy tone. "We'll focus on our efforts. See you when we get back."

As the radio cut off, Aiden laughed.

"You will definitely not see them later. You'll be dead by then." Aiden said as he glared at Cedric.

"Aiden, our sister is willing to look past that, please Aiden." Benedict begged his brother. "Just drop the gun and let's move on."

"Move on? Move on?" Aiden said with a laugh. "You fucking want me to go to jail. You my traitorous brother will be able to move on with this, this pretender, while I rot in jail!"

"We will visit you Aiden." Camilla said.

"I don't want to see a fucking whore like you!" Aiden shouted back.

Suddenly the sound of a gun going off rang through the command center. Making everyone turn pale and look towards Cedric.
