520 Additional rules

Name:New Age Of Summoners Author:
So, he asked the man about it.

"The trial is very simple. You should not injure a single spirit beast and survive for only 5 minutes,"

The old man revealed a cunningly smile as he explained about the second trial.

"Huh? Survival without injuring the spirit beasts? Got it,"

Ajax nodded his head and silently thought, 'The surviving for five minutes is not a problem; however, without injuring the spirit beast is a little troublesome.'

Soon, Ajax started thinking of a solution for that problem while observing all the spirit beasts in the distance.

"Are you ready?"

The old man asked Ajax before extending his hand at the spirit beasts.

"Always,"

Ajax replied with a single word and at the same time he thought in his head, 'Cloud steps'

Since he should not injure them, there was only one thing he could do now and it was to run without getting caught to those ferocious spirit beasts.

"By the way, I forgot to mention another important rule for this second trial," Just as Ajax activated his 'Cloud steps', the smile on the old man's face grew even larger.

"What is it?"

Ajax raised his brows and felt a bad premonition in his heart as he asked about the rule.

"You should not use your cultivation; however, in the worst-case situations, humans tend to unconsciously use their cultivation. So, to make sure you don't use your cultivation, I am going to temporarily seal your cultivation," The old man extended his other hand and placed it on Ajax's chest before muttering something.

As soon as the old man stopped muttering, Ajax felt something in him was sealed and all of a sudden, he felt weak.

"Now, all the rules are explained. Do you still want some time to adjust to your weakened body or do you want me to start the trial?" The old man asked Ajax with the same cunning smile on his face.

'How the hell am I going to finish this trial if my cultivation is sealed,' Ajax cursed the old man in his heart; however, he didn't show it on his face and replied, "I need a couple of minutes to adjust to my body."

'There should be some kind of way to pass this trial, I should immediately find it,'

While adjusting to his body, he also started thinking in his head about an easy way to finish this trial.

'I think, he added the additional rules after he saw me activating the cloud steps,' Soon, Ajax realized something when he saw a cunning smile on the old man.

"Although you only have cultivation of a level 1 elite commander real, you have no problem in killing all those spirit beasts. So, I modified the trial with some additional rules to keep the trial interesting,"

"But why?"

Ajax calmly asked the old man the reason for which he had added the additional rules.

"Because I like to keep things interesting...Haha," The old man smiled while replying to Ajax's question.

That's right! The old man evaluated that Ajax had the battle prowess higher than his cultivation realm. So, he wanted to make things difficult for Ajax.

'That is the reason why I have kept trials, right?' the old man supported himself with that thought because the one who completes all his trial would become his master and he would be placing the future of the dimensional crevice in that person's hands.

So, the old man didn't want to take any chances. The more powerful, patience, potential and intelligent the challenge had in him, the future of the dimensional crevice would be that great.

'There is no doubt, he has great potential, huge patience and is powerful among his peers; however, the most important thing in surviving a cultivation world will be intelligence. Now I want to test his intelligence,'

The old man had some set of qualities that his master should possess. So, the trials he was making Ajax go through would reveal all those qualities.

Although Ajax had finished only one official trial, the old man was able to gauge many of the required qualities to become his master.

'As long as you successfully finish this trial, I will acknowledge you as my master,' The old man was excited to see the second trial because, if Ajax becomes successful, then the old man would get a master.

"Time is up. I am starting the trial,"

Soon, the couple of minutes that Ajax had requested were passed by and the old man notified Ajax that he was going to start the trial.

"I am ready,"

Although Ajax said he was ready; however, he still didn't figure out a way to finish the trial.

'I still have my elemental spirits and spirit beasts? Since I cant kill the spirit beasts, my elemental spirits and contracted spirit beasts can kill them, right?' Ajax thought in his head as though he was asking a question to the old man.

That's right!

The old man was able to hear all his thoughts from the beginning. So, Ajax just thought about it as he was sure that the old man could hear his thoughts.

"Along with your cultivation, I also sealed your spirit consciousness. So, you can't summon them. If by chance you summoned them, I will deem it as you failed the trial,"

The old man's words gave Ajax quite a shock that made Ajax feel his last bit of hope also disappear.

'There is a way to finish this trial. You just have to think. THINK,'

As usual, whenever he loses all the hope, the old voice in his head appears to motivate him and it did the same thing now.

'Who are you doing this? You are that powerful?'

Along with the old voice, Ajax's thoughts in his head moved at an incredible spread and felt a tiny bit of hope in finishing the second trial and immediately asked some questions.

"Yes, I am omnipotent in this dimensional crevice. If I want to kill you, I can do it just by snapping my fingers," The old man proudly revealed about his powers.

"So, are they all real spirit beasts or just projections,"

Ajax slowly asked about his actual question and carefully looked at the old man's expressions.

"You will find out when the spirit beasts eat your body...Haha,"

The old man understood Ajax's intentions and replied with a mocking expression on his face.

"Now, the trial begins,"

After giving an answer to Ajax's earlier question, the old man didn't give any time for Ajax to continue asking the questions and waved his hand at the spirit beasts, which were stationed at a distance from them.

"All the best, challenger. I sincerely hope you will finish this trial," the old man disappeared from his place leaving Ajax behind.

'Here, they come...Haha,' Ajax revealed a small smile when he looked at the incoming spirit beasts towards him.
