214 Observing From Above

Sylvy voiced her concerns, and Ramas agreed with her that they should return as soon as possible. This would also give them more time to make preparations for Anja's arrival. As time was of the essence, Vy gave a suggestion.

"I can get you back to the castle swiftly, swift enough for you to make it back in time for your morning court session. But everyone else would have to come the regular way," Vy explained.

Sylvy agreed to it immediately without any hesitation, while Ramas was reluctant to leave Sylvy on her own. However, with Vy's assurance, he felt a little more assured. With that, everyone got ready to leave.

The campsite was a little crowded as everyone was going about their day. To avoid crashing into anyone else, Vy made sure that they exit the campsite before she took to her Titan Raven form.

Sylvy had already known that Lycster could shapeshift, but she was not aware that Vy could do so as well. As Vy unfurled her wings, her wingspan cast a shadow upon her companions.

With Ramas's help, Sylvy got onto Vy's back, holding carefully to her feathers. Lycster took to his regular Owl form and circled them from the sky. As soon as Sylvy was ready, everyone stepped back to give Vy more space.

As she flapped her wings, Vy slowly lifted herself off the ground and flew up into the sky.

"Are you ready?" Vy asked Sylvy.

She could sense that the King was nervous, after all, she had never been so high up above the ground before. Let alone on the back of a giant raven. Sylvy's heart was palpitating, her palms were sweating. But the nervous emotions soon turned to excitement and anticipation.

"I'm ready, Sylvy replied.

With that, Vy flew in the direction of the Kingdom of Papillion. Afraid that she might lose her crown, Sylvy took it off and held it close to her chest. Vy activated the skill \u003cShadow Burst\u003e, this allowed them to reach their destination swiftly. Through the tunnel of darkness, Vy recalled the times she had used to this skill.

Back then Dotty was still by her side, and she had escorted King Olwin to the Keystone portal.

When they approached Papillion, Vy exited the tunnel they had created for the speedy flight. Aether quickly cast a cloaking spell over them, so that the people below would not be alerted of the giant raven flying above them.

Vy dropped Sylvy off at her room balcony, where they met up with Tinee. Needless to say, the lady-in-waiting was extremely happy to see her King. Without a second to waste, she brought Sylvy back into the room to prepare her for the morning court session.

The Blackfire siblings took to their human forms once more so that they could enter the King's Quarter's balcony. But, they soon came to the conclusion that it would not be wise for them to accompany Sylvy to her morning court session.

"We still can, covertly," Vy replied as the gears of her mind got to work.

Both of them would take to their sky forms so that they could keep an eye on the situation and protect Sylvy when needed. They would hide up near the ceiling of the Throne Room where there were some railings they could perch on.

Tinee helped Sylvy get into her royal attire, ensuring her hair was in place and her crown rested properly on her head. Once everything was done, they made their way to the Throne room immediately.

The siblings took to their respective forms and flew through the castle to get to the Throne Room. Lucky for them, the glass windows were open, allowing them to fly straight in. They flew up to the railings undetected.

Although they had arrived before Sylvy and Tinee, the rest of the ministers were already in the room. Most of them were having their own discussions amongst themselves. Needless to say, the person who stood out the most was none other than Eskyl.

"Look at that smirk on his face," Vy whispered to her brother.

"He's going to drop his jaw later," Lycster replied.

"Grand Advisor, will her Majesty be joining us for the Morning Court Session?" one of the ministers asked Eskyl.

Hearing the question made him roll his eyes, "We don't need to wait for her to begin,"

But as soon as he said that, a guard announced King Sylvy's entrance into the Throne Room. Everyone in the room immediately knelt down in respect of Sylvy as she entered, all accept for Eskyl who merely bowed.

"My apologies for the wait, my subjects. We can begin the Morning Court Session." Sylvy spoke from behind the curtain as she took her seat.

Eskyl was about to say something but Sylvy cut him off, " But before we begin, there is something I would like to say."

Sylvy looked around the room, hoping to see Grand Priestess Alfin before she made her announcement. Based on what Tinee had informed her, Alfin had agreed to give Sylvy her support.

Should anything happen, the Grand Priestess would take her side and protect her. Regardless, Sylvy was not about to waste her moment.

"Yesterday, I spoke to the Negotiator…"

"You spoke with the Negotiator?!" Eskyl exclaimed in front of the entire court.

His voice echoed through the Throne Room.

Interrupting the King was a serious offence. Tinee was about to say something but Sylvy stopped her before she could say anything. They had a bigger fight ahead of them so it was not necessary for them to fight him on this one.

"I have spoken to the Negotiator, Sylvy repeated, "And have also spoken to Leader Atlas of the Republic of Mothylek."

His gaped mouth and expression on Eskyl's face was simply priceless. Sylvy was a little disappointed that the curtains obscured her view. But she was also thankful for the curtains, as others could not see the smirk that appeared on her face.

She could imagine what was going through his mind.

"We have come to a beneficial agreement for both sides. As such, they will be arriving today, so that they may sign an alliance treaty," Sylvy announced.

The mixed expressions and whispers amongst her court worried Sylvy a little. Did she make the right choice? There was no turning back now.

Forward was the only option.
