Chao Bin felt as if he was being pulled into the center of the earth by a huge gravitational force, it was as if his body was as light as a feather, being thrown high into the middle of the clouds and feeling the weightlessness of euphoria,
He was confused, and he couldn't even think about where he was or what he was doing,
Only the instinct contained in his blood drove him, urged him, and made him suck the sweet blood overflowing from his lips greedily.
The blood entering his mouth, was soft like jelly and slid down his throat like honey dew, filling his mouth with an indescribable sweet smell. The burning and thirst in his throat alleviated like the dry desert earth welcoming dewy rain, the scorching heat that rampaged in his blood vessels calmed, the clamoring in his whole body also subsided.
Scarlet blood was greedily sucked and swallowed into his stomach, the huge sense joy and satisfaction made Chao Bins whole body tremble uncontrollably. He subconsciously clung to Tang Shun's shoulders, legs clamping around his thin waist, slender fingers pressing shallow red prints into his skin, he even faintly let out a small moan between gulps,
The thirst that haunted him for several days was finally gone.
In the never ending shadows, Tang Shun looked at him, his brows were piercing, his eyes were cold and sharp, and the fresh blood flowing from the wound on his left arm sent sharp tingles of pain shooting straight to his heart.
The satiated mind finally felt a hint of clarity rising and the first thing Chao Bin noticed was the cold hand slowly tracing the lines of his spine, dipping and curving in a riveting trail from his fragile neck to his tailbone, only stopping to slightly dip in the curve of his waist, then continuing its tantalizing journey across his skin.
He heard Tang Shun breathe slowly, felt the warmth of the man's body, and noticed that the palm of the opponent was covering the back of his neck.
His limbs felt as if he had spent hours bathing in a hot spring pool, soft and weak, and his eyelids drooped slightly as his heart gradually slowed.
He... was sucking Tang's blood.
His teeth released, almost instantly overwhelming exhaustion flooded his body,
At the moment Chao Bin's body collapsed, Tang Shun raised his hand and wrapped his arms around the waist of the person in his arms.
With Chao Bin leaning on his right shoulder, Tang lowered his eyes and found that there were several blood holes in his left shoulder that had been bitten by Chao Bin's sharp teeth. A little crimson blood still overflowed from the wound, but even then, under his deep stare, it began to solidify and heal at an extremely abnormal speed visible to the naked eye.
By the time he turned his attention back to Chao Bin, the wound had already stabbed.
Tang Shun looked down at the top of Chao Bin's head.
The light brown, soft hair hung down against his sweaty face naturally, slight parting to reveal a smooth and well endowed forehead. His mind still seemed to be hazed–eyelids and eyelashes were trembling lightly, and his lips were still stained with rich blood.
From Chao Bin's perspective, he could only see the curvature of the man's jaw, the thick neck and shoulder lines, the cool skin under the open collar and a deep clavicle, glowing a faint pink.
After watching this for a long time, Chao Bin struggled to speak,
His throat clearly no longer felt dry and painful, but Chu Yu's voice was surprisingly hoarse, "Tang Shun..."
Tang Shun turned his head and looked down at Chao Bin, his eyes flat.
Even without seeing emotions such as fear and disgust in Tang's Shun's eyes, Chao Bin still felt his skip a beat, he naturally lowered his gaze and secretly clenched his fist subconsciously.
After inhaling, Chao Bin asked, "Does...does it hurt..?" He immediately wanted to slap himself after asking such a stupid question, would a normal person not be angry after having his blood sucked by someone they trusted.
Pretending not to hear the hesitation at the end of Chao Bin's voice, Tang Shun replied, "No."
Even so, Chao Bin heart still did not settle, "I'm sorry, I've been trying to suppress it, I really didn't mean for this to happen, I will leave the group and provide you with compensation as soon as I'm able to. None of this was meant to happen."
Chao Bin's words were robotic and sounded as if this wasn't the first time he had said this exact phrase, however Tang Shun simply ignored the contents coming out of Chao Bins mouth and instead raised a brow playfully, " Your apology would be much easier to believe, if you weren't still clinging onto my shoulders."
Chao Bin was then finally reminded of their awkward position, he was still hanging from Tang Shuns shoulders while sitting firmly on his lap. A fiery blush instantly erupted on the already rosy cheeks and he hastily scampered away from him, almost falling from the bed if it weren't for the help of the railing.
Tang's Shun scent was still lingering at the tip of his nose and his voice was slightly panicked as he tried to pull away from the embarrassment, his usual poisonous tongue nowhere to be seen in this situation,
"Cough––"
He quickly searched for a new topic,
"What do you think is happening to me? Am I becoming a vampire of sorts?"
Chao Bin naturally forgot his previous mention of leaving, his attention quickly brought back to the problem at hand,
"I guess you don't understand either." Tang shrugged and leaned back, the tight lines of his neck unconsciously attracting Chao Bin's eyes, "Based on the situation we already know, the injections we received containing betamine is done so in order to strengthen oir cells and foster us into the perfect evolution" Chao Bin nodded, forcefully tearing his sight away from the tempting visual ,"Then it's obvious everyone's transformation will be different, I can't be sure if its because of the mechanisms of the copy or a substance in the antibodies, but everyone's evolution will lead to something else. Your's just so happens to be similar to the fox."
At this he suddenly lowered his voice, as if he was telling him a dirty secret, "Do you know what the legends of the fox says," Chao Bin had an ominous premonition and wanted to stop him but Tang Shun didn't give a chance to speak, " I heard that the fox demon is very powerful, it will confuse people's mind and play with their bodies. If people meet this demon, their yang essence will be sucked away by the beautiful.spirit... at least this is how the script is usually written."
Chao Bin: "..."
He didn't, don't talk nonsense–
It however was true in a sense, Fox Demons are extremely intelligent and very powerful shape-shifters. They frequently harass humans by transforming into giants or other fearsome monsters, sometimes just for pranks, and sometimes for other nefarious purposes. They are skilled enough to even transform into exact likenesses of individual people, often appearing in the guise of beautiful human women in order to play tricks young men. On more than one occasion this has resulted in the marriage with an unwitting human. Some fox demons even spend most of their lives in human form, adopting human names and customs, taking human jobs, and even raising families. Only when startled, or drunk, or careless, would occasionally part of their magical disguise can fail, Fox Demons true nature may be revealed by a tail, a patch of fur, fangs, or some other vulpine feature.
But the fox demon also had a fatal shortcoming, without sucking yang essence they would be forced back to their original form and may even gradually die from the lack of energy. Yang essence is most powerful in blood but it can also be supplemented in many different ways and many of the fox preferred to find alternative methods rather than just taking blood.
The yellow book about fairies and scholars that Chao Bin had read secretly during the night, especially when he was alone, all turned into a variety of vivid scenes, one after another, springing up in his mind like a broken faucet.
The white snake spirit and the scholar, the fox spirit and the monk, all became the current Tang Shun and him--
The room was not hot, but Chao Bin was sweating, his body was stiff, and his heart was racing as if he had just run a marathon.
The gentleness on Tang Shun's face had long faded in place of his inherent bad nature and watching the stuttering Chao Bin try to come up with an solid refute, gave him a sense of evil pleasure.
Although he knew that Chao Bin would not be faced with the situation of turning into a fox without yang essence, considering that his body would still need to be supplemented in order to prevent any accidents, Tang Shun was still faintly pleased.
It could only be his yang essence in any case, this was his new enjoyment and until he got bored of it, then Chao Bin was his to play with to his liking...
Chao Bin suddenly shivered from where he sat, his right eye twitching faintly with a bad feeling but when he looked up, the only thing he could see was Tang Shun's faintly smiling face shining in the darkness.
He coughed again and looked around, Chu Yi didn't seem to have been woken up from their voices but their was still a faint shame that erupted in his heart, like star-studded lovers having a midnight rendezvous in the park.
Chao Bin suddenly forcefully pinched his arm, what kind of strange thoughts was he having now. Shaking his head to wake himself up, Chao Bin finally felt the forces of exhaustion flooding his limbs and with a heavy sigh, he turned to Tang Shun and thanked him for his help.
Tang Shun noticed the mist pooling in Chao Bins eyes and mercifully decided to finish for the night. Slowly buttoning the edge of the shirt with one hand, he lifted the sweat-addled bangs from his forehead and smiled at Chao Bin meaningfully, "Come to me anytime you feel hungry, I'll be 'glad' to help."
Chao Bin felt flustered again, somehow sensing that Tang Shuns words had one more than one meaning but he could not see anything from the compassionate smile that graced his lips.
In the end, he opted for burying his head in the sheets again, almost instantly the sense of exhaustion that he had been forcefully holding back flooded his nerves and he didn't even have time to think when his mind was submerged in unconscious darkness.
